Does anyone have any info on this concert? I spent over 1 1/2 hours the other day looking for info and couldn't find any. The concert isn't even on the calendar of events. I emailed the college but have not gotten a response from them.

I called the ticket office today (715-836-3727), and student tickets go on sale Feb. 4th, general public Feb 9th. Cost $16. Location Davies Center. Doors open at 7 pm (Wed. Feb. 18). She didn't know concert start time, but guessed 7:30. I forgot to ask if there is a limit on ticket orders. If UNI is any indication, tickets will be sold out the first day, Feb. 4.

Thanks for the info parrogordo! biggrin.gif

I just called (715) 836- 2637 and she said to call at 7AM CST on Monday the 9th for tickets and they are $16.00 over the phone and you will need a credit card and there is a $3.00 charge for the phone fee.

So, I am sure hoping that all of the students don't buy all of the tickets and can save me two!

When do they go on sale for students? I've heard the 4th, but I've also heard the 7th....

I have a friend that use to go to this college. It sucks that she's not still there. dry.gif Last year was her last year.

EAU CLAIRE — Tickets go on sale Feb. 9 for a concert by David Cook — the rock belter who won the "American Idol" competition in 2008 — on Feb. 18 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for the show in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. Due to the intimate concert setting, only 750 tickets will be sold.

Millions of people fell in love with Cook while watching him make other people's songs his own week after week on the seventh season of the Fox TV series, "American Idol." One week after being declared the winner with a record-breaking 56 percent of the nearly 100 million votes cast, Cook rewrote chart history when 11 of his songs debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 chart — the highest number of new entries in a single week by an artist since the Beatles in 1964. In November 2008, he released his self-titled major-label debut CD, produced by Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Kid Rock).

General admission tickets are $16 ($10 with a UW-Eau Claire student ID) at the Service Center in the East Lobby of Davies Center. The Service Center is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Patrons can charge tickets to MasterCard or Visa when they order by phone. Call 715-836-3727 or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free 800-949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to telephone charge orders.

A special advance ticket sale — for UW-Eau Claire students only — will take place Feb. 4-8. Tickets will be sold only at the Service Center windows, and buyers must present a valid student Blugold card. No more than four tickets will be sold to each UW-Eau Claire student during the advance sale. There will be no limit on the number of tickets that may be purchased beginning Feb. 9.

Well, I don't think anyone should plan on going to this if you don't know a student that can buy tickets there for you.

Only 750 tickets, students can get 4 tickets each, and they have a few days before it goes to the public?

Yeah. We can just forget about this. sad.gif

Yeah it really is awful that the two times he is going to be in Wisconsin the fans that have been with him from the beginning are not going to get the chance to see him. sad.gif I guess we can only hope that he will come back sometime during the summer!

I had a student try to get me tickets. Tickets went on sale at 7 am. She went at 8:15 am and they were already sold out. Though I'm happy they sold out that fast, I wonder how many of those tickets are going to be sold at CraigsList for $100 a piece. I'm debating whether or not to still go hours ahead of time to hopefully meet the band if they come out. But I don't want to drive a total of 2 hours for nothing if they don't come out. Oh what to do, what to do....

I kinda figured they would sell out.. I just hope the students who bought them are actually going to the concert and not selling their tickets.. or least if they are selling them, they should not overcharge too much.. Ah, I hate that I have to go to Craigslist to try to see what the going price is.. DAMN those students anyways! I''m kidding.. well, kind of...

I knew that they would sell out in 1 day, but wasn't expecting it to sell out in 1 hour!! That's crazy and awesome all at the same time!

I couldn't believe that this sold out in an hour. Cherie and I were hoping to go to this concert but
we knew that it was a low probability we would ever get tickets. We're hoping that David and EEB
come back to the Midwest this summer or Fall so we get to see him again.

LeAnn, you must have been really bummed especially since your student went at 8:15!! And, I'm with you and davidschic that we hope the students are actually going to the concert and not trying to stiff us out of $$$. I keep
wondering if these new fans will know when to sing.

I was wondering the same thing... I wonder if they will make an attempt to listen and "learn" the songs before the concert. Also, do you think the majority will sit or stand during the concert? I am wondering this for UWGB as well. I really don't want to sit at all during the concert, but it makes it hard if most people are sitting... they get a little irritated!

Hehe, so nobody got any tickets here either? I had a student try...she got there right when it started...she stood in line until she had to go to class, so she wasn't anywhere near close. I still just wonder if she would've ended up with some...dang it! One hour...sold out. It sucks, I live SO CLOSE to Eau Claire, and I don't get to go see him. I guess I'll have to wait for next time.
