'Idol' winner David Cook to play the Weidner on Feb. 20
As “American Idol’’ gets ready to return to TV tonight, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has just nabbed last season’s winner. David Cook will play a concert at 9 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Weidner Center. The show is sponsored by the university’s Good Times Programming. Cook, 26, who is touring in support of his self-titled debut album released in November, was interested in playing small venues on college campuses. Only main-floor seating at the Weidner – fewer than 1,000 seats -- will be used for the show. UWGB students will get first crack at tickets when they go on sale Jan. 26 for $8. It will be walk-up sales only with students required to show their ID. There’s a two-ticket limit. Tickets will then go on sale to the public on Jan. 30 for $13. They’ll be available at (920) 465-2217, (800) 328-8587, www.weidnercenter.com or University Ticketing Services in the University Union on campus. Both prices include all fees. Who is with me??? Now I wish I could enroll really quick!!! I am being hopeful though. The Resch wasnt sold out of the Idol tour so maybe, just maybe there will be plenty of seats left. I am totally taking off of work that day so I can get tickets!!! And $13 dollars!!! Thats a steal. Just looked on the Weidners website and they still dont have the calendar updated with this info......gosh I am so excited now!!

Oh I'm gonna be there! I've been exhausting all my contacts trying to find someone I know who goes to UWGB so they can get me some tix. I'm hopeful that since the venue is about 1,000 seats, there will be tickets left. I LOVE GB for being so David-friendly. Hopefully I'll see a lot of you guys there -- good luck in the ticket hunt!! OMG!! I was trying to do this too around NJ, call around independantly and/or ask some of my son's friends (he's a HS senior) who go to the local schools.
Is this general practice that the students get the first shot, and then the public gets what's left? |

So "Franken Mom" and I are at her house watching the Season 7 finale and then the debut of Season 8. We have the big screen TV going and the laptop going as "Franken Mom' scours the sites for any new "David" news. I had just told her that I was hoping we'd hear soon on the upcoming tour dates. Not 15 minutes later, Peg, "Franken Mom", points to her laptop and tells me to look! OMG....an announcement for a GB concert! Our prayers have come true!!
We missed sweet David when the Idol tour came here on 9/2 as he had press and couldn't come to the barricades. We WILL get tickets!! WE WILL BE THERE!! WE WILL SEE DAVID COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, BLIZZARD OR COLD TEMPS!!  OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! We will be melting some snow & ice here in GB on 2/20  Cherie |

Does anyone know if it'll be general admission or if you'll be assigned certain seats when you buy the ticket? I know we don't know a lot about it right now, but if there's anyone here that saw a show there before or knows how it works? |
