When do tickets go on sale for this show? I've searched and found nothing.

my dad works for a local radio station (i am from fairmont) as a sales manager and a lot of other things and he knows the girl from WVU Arts and Entertainment. They talk all the time and he called her today and talked to her, for me. She said that the date has not yet been confirmed, but is supposed to be confirmed sometime this week. This would explain why we haven't been able to find much of anything on the concert and/or tickets.

So, im thinking that they will confirm the date this week and tickets would be on sale this coming saturday, the 31st or next saturday. feb. 7th.

I am also thinking that since there is a conflict in dates between his official site and other sites, it will be in fact on Thursday, March 5th. I am coming to this conclusion because I think it will be at the Creatvie Arts Center because he wanted a small venue and the coliseum is way too big. The Wizard of Oz is playing Friday, March 6 there, so there goes Friday.

Most of this is just my opinion on how it will go down, but the girl is supposed to call me dad back when the date is confirmed and all the details and stuff, so once I learn something i will pass it on!!!

Thanks!! (:

There is one more venue that he could play on Friday. A lot of concerts are held at the Mountainlair. There is a ton of space there and it's perfect for what David wants to do. That's where I've been assuming he'd be playing....I could be completely wrong, but I've been to shows there before....

yeah. he could definitely play at the mountainlair. that would be super small though. i am kinda hoping he plays at the CAC just because it seems like the perfect space. we'll see. but, it is definitely open to the public, so yay! (:

Thanks for all the information ... please keep it coming!

I am from Clarksburg but now live in Michigan. I am planning a trip to Clarksburg with my kids to visit my family, and I'd like to schedule the trip around David's concert so I can go to it. Right now, he has no concert dates in Michigan and I'm dying to see him again (I went to the AI summer tour and to Ford Day in Detroit) and the WVU show would be perfect. I went to WVU for my undergraduate degree, so I know my way around.

Like everyone who's posted here, I also thought the Coliseum would be too large for him -- that is not the type of venue he's looking for. And I, too, saw that the CAC already has a show scheduled on March 6th, so I ruled that venue out. Then I thought of the Mountainlair as a possibility ... though it would be pretty small. So I'm not sure where it will be, and I'm quite curious.

However, if the concert is changed to Thursday, March 5, I won't be able to go. So I hope that does not happen.

Please keep posting what you find out. Meanwhile, I have a college friend who lives in Morgantown and works for WVU, and she's trying to find out more information for me. If I hear anything, I will post it here as well.

Thanks everyone!

I'm curious ... where did you see the conflicting concert dates? I searched all over the Internet last night for WVU concert information, and didn't come across any conflicting dates. Everything I saw said Friday, March 6.

I'm really nervous about trying to schedule my trip from Michigan to Clarksburg to visit my family. I hope this works out for me and I get to see David, too!

David currently doesn't have anything scheduled for Saturday, March 7, so if the date is changed, I'm hoping it is changed to Saturday and not Thursday, March 5 (I definitely couldn't make it to that one).

Anyway, just keep posting information as you get it. Thanks so much!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the information! Now I can plan/schedule my trip to Clarksburg around this event. Fantastic! I just hope I can get a ticket on February 7.

Is the Mountainlair Ballroom bigger than it used to be? I went to WVU 1985-1989 (showing my age), and went to several concerts there. I'm sure it has changed since then. How many people does it hold?

Becaue it's a smaller venue, I'm hoping this will be much like the Ford Day concert David gave in Detroit in September. There were only about 400 people there (capacity crowd). It was awesome ... he did a meet and greet with everybody. Anyone know if he'll do a meet and greet during this solo tour?

Keep the information coming, if you get anything else!

The ballroom still looks the same as when I attended WVU (1985-89). It doesn't appear to have changed much at all.
So I'm guessing it may hold 400 people. ????

I've got my fingers crossed I will be able to get tickets. The limit of 2 per buyer is probably a good thing.

I've actually convinced my husband to go with me, which is a shocker. We are going to leave the kids with my parents in Clarksburg, spend the day in Morgantown visiting our alma mater, have a nice lunch/dinner, wait in line for our tickets (not fun) and then watch David perform. I am soooo excited! I saw David during the AI tour last summer and then at Ford Day in Detroit, where I got to meet him. He is such a nice guy. He put on an awesome acoustic performance at Ford Day -- it was a very intimate show, only about 300-400 people. I'm hoping the WVU show will be just like that. However, I think the WVU performance will be much better than Ford Day because David will be singing his own material and not the songs forced on him by American Idol.

Yay!!! I can't wait!!! Maybe I'll see some of you there!!!

Thanks, and yes I know the tickets have to be purchased on-line via Ticketmaser -- I live in Michigan (grew up in Clarksburg, WV) and certainly don't plan to drive to Morgantown to buy 2 tickets. Ha-ha. When I said standing in line for tickets, I meant standing in line at the will-call window to pick up the tickets. Apparently, that is how you have to get your tickets -- they won't be mailed to you. At least that is what I gathered from the official announcement from WVU (see link that was provided above). Am I wrong about that? The website says the will-call window opens at 8 p.m. the day of the show and you have to bring a valid ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket(s) with you, so you can claim the tickets.

I heard today that WVU is selling 1000 tickets to the concert. This was on the radio station from Morgantown. Supposedly all tickets are to be purchased through ticketmaster and picked up at the will call. Students can purchase up to two tickets. There are a lot of students at WVU. I wonder if there is gonna be a problem with getting tickets?

i do believe that tickets become available to EVERYONE at the same time. Students just get a discount and there is a two ticket limit for EVERYONE.

Yes, tickets become available to everyone at noon on February 7 via Ticketmaster. Students get a discount but don't receive any preferential treatment otherwise. Tickets are limited to 2 per buyer. And all tickets must be picked up at the will-call window the evening of the show -- you have to have a photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the tickets to claim them. The window opens at 8 p.m., which means there is going to be a huge line, so that won't be fun.

There were more than 20,000 students when I attended WVU years ago. I don't know how many there are now. But 1,000 tickets isn't very many, considering the size of the school. Many of the other schools that David is going to aren't that large.

Can the Mountainlair Ballroom really hold 1,000 people? I'm surprised.

Anyway, I will be scrambling to get my 2 tickets come February 7. :-)
