I was hoping to go to more than one New England date, but poor luck will have it that I will be out of town during the March 30-31 dates. Crap! But, I will be at Eastern CT, for sure. Sister and husband will be too. We called the box office at the school, and they hadn't heard of the show yet. Got Cookies, who did you email?

This is from davidcookai7 LJ page:

iconlove90 has informed that tickets for the Eastern Connecticut State University will be going on sale Feb. 2nd on the school's website or you will be able to call them. no word on the price, though.

This is from the main dates thread:

im so excited these dates came out.. i wish there was on in MA but im ok driving to NH!! i was thinking about the ones in CT but i called the eastern ct. state uni and they said that tix go on sale on feb. 19th, however, they are only available for students and one ticket per student... SO it looks like i won't be going to that show. i am waiting for colby-sawyer in NH to get back to me!

This is going to make me cry, if I can't go to a single show.

it's weird that information gives two different onsale dates...worth further investigation, I think.

I emailed Stephanie who is the Concert Coordinator. I haven't heard back from her as of yet. I also don't see any mention of David on the ECSU website.

I've been making attempts at finding info for this show since I got home this evening, and have had no luck. The only thing I saw on the website in my search (non David related) is that they do have an arts and lecture series that is open to the public. I couldn't find anything about concerts at all. But my mom thinks that she's heard of fairly big names playing there in the past, so I'm hoping this bodes well. Hoping for the best, yet preparing for (and expecting) the worst, as per my usual.
As of now, we have two on-sale dates more than two weeks apart with one saying they'll be available to the public and the other one saying students only... Obviously one is wrong, lol. (Let's hope its the one that gets us in, right??)
I've got a couple email addresses and phone numbers I might use to look into, plus I think a co-worker's daughter goes there, so I might put that out there too.
As far as this particular tour goes, this is my one shot at a show. Everything else is just WAY too far to even think about. (I was REALLY hoping he'd be at one of the casinos instead!) And if ECSU IS strictly for college students, I'll be disappointed of course, but there's no reason to complain when there's nothing you can do about it... It won't be my first letdown, and I imagine there will be other tours down the road...
Fingers are crossed we get good news.
If I learn anything and don't see it here, I'll be sure to post as well.

I just messaged the "webmaster" at Eastern CT State Colledge...
Maybe he/she will give us more clarity on when the tickets go on sale...
Anyone else also planning to go to the one in New Haven ,CT?
Or is that what we were talking about?

Wow, lol.
I wish ECSU's site was as easy to navigate as SCSU's is.
(That's where the show in New Haven is.)
While there is no mention of David specifically there either, it was wonderfully simple to find the calendar of featured events and concerts coming up.
The only good thing to report, as far as SCSU is concerned anyway, is that ALL the concerts they have listed are open to the public as well as students.
Not that I am even considering a trip to New Haven, sorry, its a BIT too far for me. I was just curious.
But I hope this is a good sign for all who are wanting to attend.
Still on the lookout for the facts about ECSU...
It would stink to have him be about a half hour away and not be able to go.

I emailed the southern college and got a reply asking for me to email them the link to the tour dates. Then she said she would find out and let me know.

I just got off the phobne with the Lyman Center at the southern college. She told me that the info has not been finalized but that she thinks the tockets go on sale for the students around February 4th, and that they WILL be going onsale to the public after the students!

Well... that's good news for the New Haven show, it would seem...
Still waiting for anything from ECSU, though, since that is the only one I can actually GET to, should the public be granted access, that is, lol.
If there's no news within a day or so, and nothing pops up on their website, I think I might give them a call and see if I can find out anything.
I just wanna know one way or the other, that's all!

Ugh, I just got the following email from ECSU (Willimantic)

Event is closed to the public.

Student ticket sales begin February 9, 2009, $10, $15 for guests (ECSU can purchase only one guest ticket).

Faculty/staff/alumni ticket sales begin February 17, 2009, $15, they can buy one ticket only with Eastern ID.

David Cook Concert, March 8, 2009, 7pm, Shafer Auditorium – doors open at 6pm.

I emailed back to ask if any unsold tickets might be open to the public, but no response yet.

sad.gifsad.gifsad.gif

I am really sad. I will not be going to the tour. I am out of town March 30 and 31 during the other two New England shows. I am presenting at a major conference in my field, and it is all booked with my family coming along to tour the city. Clearly, it is not cancel-able.

(But thanks for tracking down the final info.)

I am kinda sad too, ECSU confirmed it is student, faculty, staff only.
I have also heard that the NH show is the same.
I am going to try for New Haven or possibly Newburgh NY even though it is a hike.

Erica:

The venue where this show will be held has a capacity of less than 600. We anticipate the show selling out quickly to he extent that only current students will be able to buy tickets. They will most likely not be available faculty staff, alumni or the general public.
