I will let everyone know when I hear something! I'm excited about both of these shows and I hope we can get in!! I know some WVU students who can help out if need be, but I don't know any D&E students. Plus, I live about 3 hours from Elkins so picking up tix in person would be out of the question so I hope there is some other solution...
Oh, I'm getting way ahead of myself here..lol...I hope to get a response tomorrow. Will keep you all updated! |

Ironically, I will be within a few hundred miles of Elkins on March 14th and I am deciding whether to go or not.
I'm not from the area, so can anyone explain this... Is this a university town? I'm not sure what D&E is. Is this only for college students? |

I'm not sure what D&E is. Is this only for college students? Davis and Elkins College is really small. It's about 635 students. The town is in the mountains of WV. I wouldn't say it's isolated or anything, but definitely on the small side. Really pretty town, though. I haven't heard if it's just for students or not. The college I went to is about 20 minutes from Davis and Elkins and it's small as well and we had a concert there one time and the capacity was about 1000 and the general public was allowed to purchase tickets. So, I hope the same is true for this show. I will probably get a response back on the email I have sent out. So you guys will be the first to know what the deal is! |

I'm planning on making the trip here, too. It's 5 hours from Lexington, so I'll have to find a place to stay overnight. Thanks for the updates, I haven't been able to find much info about this venue.

Thanks for the updates, I haven't been able to find much info about this venue. thats awesome!!! im a proud west virginian and im sooo happy he is coming to our state!!! its amazing, i can't even put it into words. saturday morning when i found out, i started crying!! i am only 25 minutes from WVU!!! yay!! (: im so used to driving to PA for concerts! so, anyways, im here to let you guys know some information. my dad works for a local radio station as a sales manager and a lot of other things and he knows the girl from WVU Arts and Entertainment. They talk all the time and he called her today and talked to her, for me. She said that the date has not yet been confirmed, but is supposed to be confirmed sometime this week. This would explain why we haven't been able to find much of anything on the concert and/or tickets. So, im thinking that they will confirm the date this week and tickets would be on sale this coming saturday, the 31st or next saturday. feb. 7th. I am also thinking that since there is a conflict in dates between his official site and other sites, it will be in fact on Thursday, March 5th. I am coming to this conclusion because I think it will be at the Creatvie Arts Center because he wanted a small venue and the coliseum is way too big. The Wizard of Oz is playing Friday, March 6 there, so there goes Friday. Most of this is just my opinion on how it will go down, but the girl is supposed to call me dad back when the date is confirmed and all the details and stuff, so once I learn something i will pass it on!!! Again..this is for the WVU SHOW!!! Thanks!! (: |

Hey everyone! I have some really exciting news about the show in Elikins, WV on March 14th. I called my grandma who lives in Elkins and says the tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, February 3. I'm not sure about the time, probably at the time the box office at D&E opens. I can't wait for March 14!

It seems that the auditorium holds about 1300 people. I only saw pics of the outside and it's very nice. I've never been to this campus before, but I went to Alderson-Broaddus College which is about 30 minutes away (if you live in WV, you may be familiar with this) and that campus was beautiful...and I do believe it's similar to D&E. This should be a great show!

You won't have a hard time finding a hotel...there's a Days Inn, Super 8, Holiday Inn...just to name a few...someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Elkins isn't THAT huge of a place.... |

No, Elkins is not that big. Nobody should have a problem finding a hotel ... at least I wouldn't think so. I'm originally from Clarksburg and I've been to Elkins numerous times. Nice town.
I currently live in Michigan, but I'm planning to visit my family in Clarksburg the weekend of March 6, so I can go see David at WVU! (He currently has no plans to perform at any Michigan colleges.) I've already seen David twice -- once during the American Idol summer tour and then at Ford Day in Detroit, which was a very small, intimate setting (about 400 people). He did a meet and greet with everyone there and I got pics with him. He is very good about meeting his fans and thanking them for their support. I'm also a WVU alum (1985-89) and, while I'm definitely looking forward to seeing David perform again, I'm also looking forward to seeing Morgantown again after all these years. I hear it has changed a lot. Have fun at the Elkins concert everyone! |

I got this info from WNH:

Ticket cost for the general public will be $20.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Office of Student Life on the top floor of Jennings Randolph Hall from 9:00am-5:00pm. Online sales will also be made available to the public through http://www.musictoday.com/ starting on the same date. The concert will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2009 in the Hermanson Auditorium on the Davis & Elkins College campus. Line up will be at 7:00pm and the concert will start at 8:00pm. Anyone have any information on the venue? Seating chart? |
