I talked with someone at the University Union Ticket office and they just got word of this today, so they don't have complete details yet.

However, Student tickets are going on sale on Feb 16th and tickets to the public on March 23rd. She could not tell me prices or how many total tickets were going to be available, or even what the venue was... but this is a start. If anybody else gets more details, please add them to this thread.

The Towson theatre is the Recher. It only seats 700, but this is wonderful news for those of us who live nearby!

I just called the Student Union at Towson University. They gave me the same information about when tickets go on sale for students and the general public. However, she did tell me that the show isn't at the Towson center or at The Recher Theater. She said it will be at a small "cafe" on campus. She said David requested a small venue. She also said she expects the show to sell-out, fast. So, if you don't know a student at Towson, you probably won't get tickets.

The school's arena holds at a minimum 3,000 seats. Bummer he's not playing something larger at the school.

BTW, is it that you have to be a student at Towson or ANY university in the area?

I live just a few blocks from Towson and I'm so excited about it, but I;m not a student and I'm afraid I won't be able to get good seats.

Recher Theatre is located on York Road in Towson, Maryland. It is not part of Towson University as far as I know. It is just a local little theatre/club that rock groups play at and I have never heard of any of the groups that have played there! Towson Center is the place I would think David would book his concert at Towson University. And that holds a lot of people. I check their site every single day and they have no information about David coming there on April 3. It was like pulling teeth to get anything out of the folks at Penn State in York, PA but I finally got tickets for that concert.

I'm gonna have to tell my prospects to be ready. If tickets sell as fast and furious as they have at the other venues if you blink they'll be gone.

I'm very familiar with the Towson campus... if it's at a small cafe on campus as someone else in this thread said, then it would most likely be Paws, which is in the Student Union- it has a small stage and usually just local bands perform there, but I guess it's an option... unfortunately, it's very small and doesn't hold many people. My guess is that he'll probably play at the Towson Center, but who knows. I'm super excited for this show!!

THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS!! I just saw this on the university's website. I went to check it out because a friend sent me some information last night. I am sooooo disappointed, her daughter was going to get me tickets!!

The most recent American Idol winner, David Cook, will play an intimate
show in Paws with opening act Ryan Star. Tickets are VERY limited, so be
sure to get yours early! Student tickets on sale Feb. 16 for $5 at the Union
Ticket Office (limit one student-priced ticket per OneCard). We will be
checking OneCards at the door of the show - if you do not have a valid TU ID,
you will not be able to enter with a student-priced ticket. There are NO

I'm devasted about that, seriously, like I said on the other thread, I'm going back to Brazil in July that means this is the tour I need to go to, I won't have another chance.

This is very depressing. I have been looking forward to this show. I wish everybody would get on the same page because ticketmaster is showing that tickets for the show go on sale march 23rd. Has anyone heard anything different?

Sorry to say but I talked to someone from the Office of Student Activities at Towson yesterday and she said that the show just sold out yesterday through the students-only presale, so no public tickets will be available on March 23rd

Well I hope they show him a ton of love there, because I saw an article from a google alert that someone wrote in a school paper that totally bashed him, maybe it was just for effect and to drum up interest, who knows. Luckily, 2 people agreed and the rest all bashed the story writer right back!

Just found out that I'm going to this show after all!!!

If any of you are Ryan Star fans and in the Baltimore area, I'm setting up a public "event" (not sure of the details yet) before the Towson show where Ryan will hang out and perform a couple of acoustic songs- send me a message if you're interested in attending and I can let you know the details once I find them out.
