I just called my daughter who's a junior at Radford, but does not share my interest in David Cook in the least! Yet she agreed to get us tickets and go with me as long as I don't sing, dance or go Woo Hoo! She'll keep a look out on the school's website (and so will I) to see where he's performing (they have a few auditorium/theaters) and how many tickets a student can get and when the tickets go on sale. She said tickets for Taylor Swift last year were $20 and went really fast.

Awesome, you have a Radford insider. I was hoping someone would know one. Please let me know if you hear anything. They didn't know anything when I called. I hope the tix are not just for students. If she can get more than 2 tickets, do you think she could get me 2? I can get the money to you beforehand. Thanks.

I'll have to see how many tickets a student can get. I'm not sure if I feel comfortable asking her roommate to get tickets, too -- the roommate is self-supporting, works a full-time job while also going to college and I would hate to ask her to give up her time to wait in line and get tickets for me, but we'll see. Unfortunately my daughter's boyfriend just left Radford to go to the local community college instead -- I would have had no qualms making him wait in line for tickets (I feed him, too!)

My best guess is that David will be playing in what's called "The Bonnie" which is the Bondurant Auditorium which seats 1500. That's where Taylor Swift played last year and some indie group Hello Goodbye played there two months or so ago. The other smaller auditorium in Hurlburt which seats a couple a hundred is already booked that night for movies and the music department's performance hall is also doing something else that night. O.A.R. played two years ago at the Dedmon Center which is the basketball arena, but that sounds too big for these smaller venues DC was looking for.

I'm thinking, though, that there should still be tickets left over for the public after students get the first chance, so I'll be glad to get them for people. We'll just have to see when they go on sale and how many the students can get first. Taylor Swift tickets were $20, so I would think David would be around that much (maybe even less.) TS sold out fast and my daughter says that some people were reselling tickets on eBay for $200! ohmy.gif

They haven't announced the ticket information yet, but I'll keep everyone posted. Tickets most likely will go on sale to Radford students (and their mothers! tongue.gif ) first and then the general public.

students... mothers...and *coughcough* friends! *coughcough*
Hehe...
That's how it is at most of the schools anyway- I think it would be WAY better if students in general got tix first...hehe...
JUST KIDDING!
That's my selfish part talking!

I think we all need to do what we can to get tix for any "real" word nerds (if you know what I mean!) that can't get them any other way..
Right now I only have a MAYBE help for Radford-but other places I have nothing! So if we can work together we can save each other the $200 or so students are wanting for tix to see Cookie...
What do you guys think?

I am planning to go see David at Radford too, but don't know any students who will could get tickets for me. I hope I am able to get them when they go on sale to non-students. Let's keep our fingers crossed!! I really wanna see him at this small, intimate setting. I think it will be an awesome show.

Radford is in SW VA near Blacksburg (VA Tech), about 35 miles southwest of Roanoke, or about 90 miles SW of Lynchburg, or about 200 miles from Richmond.

I am an alumni of Radford, graduated in 2007.. I am hoping that alumni get to purchase tickets early along with the students as I only live about 45 minutes away. Still waiting for info but I'm very excited. No one cool ever came to RU while I went there! Then after I graduate they get Taylor Swift and now David Cook? Man...

LOL, Grace... I had to look it up on the map and compare the distance vs. Towson... rolleyes.gif ...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but it doesn't look all that promising that tickets will still be available to the public after the student sales...

I looked up the venue information for Radford and they have one auditorium that only seats 250, so I don't think it'll be that one. The other auditorium, the Bondurant, seats about 1,000 on the main level and 500 in the balcony. This is the auditorium where Taylor Swift played last March and some indie band named Hello Goodbye played in November. So it sounds like it'll be that venue, but I'm guessing that only main floor seats will be sold to keep it to the 1,000 maximum that David and his booking people wanted. Radford has 9,000 students -- hopefully fewer than 10% are David Cook fans.

I called Radford yesterday & asked if they had any ticket info. out yet. The girl ( I think she was a student, sounded young) said that they had not made the announcement yet at the school & that I should call back in a few weeks. I hate waiting, but I guess that is what we have to do. Hopefully we can get tickets too, after the students get them.
