Thanks for the new thread Travis! I'm going to, can't wait. Best (almost) birthday ever, if only it was the 10th, but that's Mother's Day so he'll probably try to go home that day. But still it's close enough to celebrate, woo hoo!

If anyone has any info about hotels, please post.

Hotels: Call the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express (just 2 blocks away) and use the promotion code GTNOW for an added discount.

I was looking at those and I don't know if the discount would put them in my price range. I was considering the Days Inn on Finley St. or the Comfort Suites on North Ave. Are those ok?

I'm getting so excited, I can't wait. I was so upset when I didn't get Macon tickets, I hate to think how I would have acted if I hadn't found these tickets that night. I was sick and crying all day and I couldn't even eat much, I'm sure it would have been worse the next day. It was kind of a blessing in disguise, but I wish I had known there was a backup before I got all depressed. However this concert is going to turn out much better being at a later date. I wasn't really prepared enough for the Macon concert cause it took forever to find out about the tickets, and I'll also have a little more time to get more money saved up.

If you're choosing between the two I would go with the Days Inn on Finley. It's within walking distance of the Georgia Theatre if you don't want to deal with parking there, and I'd say it's fairly safe to walk considering I never feel uncomfortable in downtown Athens. It's pretty alive until about 1:00 every morning (and even then it doesn't die down until past 2) and there are police officers everywhere. That far down on North Avenue's a little sketch if you ask me, plus it's much further away from the venue.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I was leaning towards the Days Inn, but my was afraid it wouldn't be good if it was that cheap, but judging from reviews and the pictures it seemed better to me, plus it will save me about $20, wqhich is always good.

I think this one is a great choice! Athens is a small town (but a college town - UGA) and the venue is VERY intimate! smile.gif

There isn't much info on the website, I can't find any pictures of the inside of it and the time is off. When you go to the page where it tells all about David up at the top it says 8:00PM then further down the page it says Ryan Star 9:00PM and David 10:00PM. What's up cause I need to know how early to get there and if David is on at 10 is he going to sing 1 or 2 hours. Can anybody help, I'm confused.

Dont know the start time...I'm sure it is on the confirmation. But I would guess...doors open at 8, Ryan at 9, and David at 10-11:15ish

David sings on avg. about 1 hr. 15 min.

I can't wait to go, but I need to hurry up and start getting things prepared for it. I need to go on a diet, and I have this weird nasty brown extremely dry skin that I need to try and get cleaned up before I go, esp. on my neck. I need to make a list of everything I'm going to need cause we're staying overnight and I have to make sure I have enough of my medicine and medical supplies, thank goodness I don't use my c-pap anymore. I've got to search my basement for some transfers I bought to fix a pair of jeans but never got around to doing so I can wear those to the concert, I may have to just buy new ones. I guess this is TMI, but I'm excited about it and I tend to ramble, plus I haven't been here much this week. I also need to find out if and where there is a Build-A-Bear Workshop so I can make me a David bear, I'm not big on bears, depends on what they look like, but if it's dressed like David I'm sure I will love it. I'm going to book my hotel room next week, I have to put some money in the bank first.
