It's 2:15am...and I can't sleep. Got home from this show about an hour ago...showered off all the sweat.. wow..it was warm in the venue. I got so lost finding this little venue. What should have taken me 1 1/2 hrs ended up being 4 hrs. That will be the last time I attempt a trip without my GPS.
Since I arrived so late, I didn't bother getting in line. I sat across the street from the venue and watched the line stretch out to an unbelievable length. I thought, there is no way all these people will fit in that small building. I figured I'd be watching the show from the entrance. Once I got inside, I was amazed at how big it was inside. There were two levels. The fans in the balcony, I think, had the best view. There had to be way more than 500 people in this place. And thank goodness Kentucky went to smoke free venues!!

This crowd was amazing. I think Ryan Star was shocked at the reception he got. The stage was so small that Ryan and his band were right up to the edge. I thought...there is no way Joey's going to be able to jump around like he does. He'll end up in the crowd.

Much to my surprise I ended up, (by the time David and the guys hit the staqe), about 10 feet from the stage. Just before the guys came out, Rick Astley started playing. Even with the stage being so small....Joey still found a way to do his thing. David looked tired, but oh...how this crowd held him up! They sang to him...every song! So much love for him. There wasn't much banter between songs. They flowed right into the next one. Understandably, they wanted to get on the road. But no one was shorted...it was a full blown show.
With the energy of the crowd in front of him and the brotherhood that stood around him on stage, you couldn't help but get choked up. This man is so truly loved by his fans, family and friends.

As I read in another thread, David doesn't just sing the lyrics, he's telling a story with every song.
Several times during the night, he looked to the Heavens... 'stars in the sky, are the stars in my eyes', with his own message to be heard.
I've seen 4 or 5 shows on this tour and each one is better than the one before. But I have to say, this was
the most energy I've seen in a crowd.

I made two new friends, Melissa and Susan. I don't think they are on the boards...but this was their first time seeing
David live after the Idol tour. I was excited for them because I knew they were in for a fantastic night.
Found out later that Melissa was actually an Archie fan during Idol. Susan and I told her she voted for the wrong David. She's hooked on Cook now and there is no turning back for her. We've made plans to get together again for a show. They were both blown away...but hey, we all know that feeling!

They performed Heroes, Lie (love when he does it a cappella... amazing!), Little Lies (Fleetwood Mac), Mr Sensitive, Breathe Tonight, Avalanche (yes...finally I got to hear it), Kiss on the Neck (to which he broke into a little 'Hotel California'), Life on the Moon, Come Back to Me (apologized because he said he forgot to shave before shooting the video...but that he got to kiss that beautiful girl)....and then finished the night with 'Barbasol'.
At the end...he grabbed a hand full of pics and threw them all at one time out into the crowd. Then he was gone.
At one point in the show, he stopped because he needed to wipe his eyes..said 'that's what happens when you use 2 lbs of hair spray to make these 12 hairs on top of my head stay still'...it's getting in my eyes! He was sweating so bad that it was running into his eyes.

I have mostly videos that I'll try to get up later today. Right now...3:30a...I need to get some sleep.

Wow..I can't believe no one else has posted pics. There were tons of people taking them. Am I posting them in the wrong place?
Mine aren't that good...but these are the best of the bunch. Still working on uploading videos.

Not sure what was going on with his eyes.

This would have been such a great shot if only....

Thanks for the great videos and pix! And yes, you are posting to the right place. :-)
Very touching when D looks up to the sky during 'Life on the Moon'. I notice him doing that at several shows. sad.gif
Looks like he doesn't have another show until May 22, so hopefully he can get some much needed down-time to process his loss with family and/or alone.
(awesome that we have another DC convert! Tho I'll admit I love Archie too; am taking my daughters for the first concert in August: Demi Lovato/David Archuleta. DC's my #1 though!
I'm going to see Michael Johns play at the US Polo Cup tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing my fav. Aussie again!
