David is coming to my town!! I am about to die from anxiety right now. Go to ticketmaster.com and search David Cook, go down the list and find where it tells the date and Chattanooga Convention Center. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. I found part of this in my local paper, then the rest came from ticketweb, that's where ticketmaster takes you when you click to get tickets so just go to ticket wed first and search for him, would be simpler, duh me. The link on DCO for tickets doesn't work right. I hope this post is ok. I am so frickin' excited. I'm over the moon. Nothing this good has ever happened to me. David Cook twice in less than 3 months apart. This means no fair in October, but oh well. Also doors open at 6:00PM Needtobreathe (actual spelling) opens at 7:00PM , don't know when David starts or how long, or about a meet and greet (there would be room for an official one) yet. I will call Monday if I'm the only one on here that wants to. It's a month away, but I feel like it's next week or something. I have been to this venue, but it was over 15 years ago and they've remodeled twice I think. It's fairly large, I don't know much about parking or anything seeing as it's been ages since I've been there. This is usually a place where they have uppity dinner parties and stuff of that nature, never heard of a rock concert being there. As I haven't been there in awhile I don't know how it will be. I'm thinking they've got themselves into a mess. There have been concerts there before, but I have a bad memory and I could be wrong, but I don't thjink they've ever had anything like a David concert before. Other Chattanoogans here can correct me if I'm wrong. Also ticket site says standing room only. That sucks for me cause I'll have to carry a chair or something to sit on until David comes out. I don't know how many are going to make it, so I can't tell about the line at the door yet, but I'll probably end up in the back. I guess that's enough, I'm making it too personal.

I bought my tickets today too. I live in Knoxville so I'm like 2 hours away. I just got back from the Cat's Cradle in NC and when we found out he was coming back here again, we just had to go. laugh.gif

I've got my tickets now, yay. Riverbend Festival in going on here now and was reading the paper to see who was here and then in the bottom corner was a pic of David. I am so glad I looked at the paper today, but I would have found out from DCO in a day or two probably, but still, I got some of the first. I hope we can get enough ppl there. I'd hate for it to be like 10 of us screaming, but still would be fun for us, lol. Have him all to ourselves and sing along with him, he probably wouldn't mind if we were all standing there singing along, lol. Surely we can get enough of us cookies and word nerds to show up and blow the roof off with all our screaming, lol.

Should not be too bad...I used to live 30mins outside of Chattanooga...The city is beautiful especially the river! Still trying to figure out what hotel to stay at....any suggestions??

I'll be coming from New Orleans by way of Cincinnati. blink.gif
My super cool crazy friend (hi Anne) and I are doing Thackerville Oklahoma 7/3 (why did I think we were seeing them in Dallas...maybe cause I'm flying into Dallas), Baton Rouge (7/4), Galveston (7/5)....visiting kitties on 7/6 and possibly resting for a bit (or so we think), New Orleans (7/7) ....so how can we not do Chattanooga on the 8th. We are superwomen afterall.
I had this strange notion that vacation's are for resting and relaxing. This looks more like work....but good work. Amazing stress releif.
I have a flight home from Baton Rouge...but that won't be used. Instead I'm renting a car in Chattanooga and driving home. That is....if I can stay awake.
Can't wait to see old friends and make new ones.

I can't wait. I don't really know about the hotels, since I don't stay in them, lol. It's not exactly my home town, I live in GA, but right at the border so it's less than 30 minutes from my house. I don't get out much, but I could tell you about all the cool places to see. Since this will take the place of the fair I was thinking if I had the money to stay in a room downtown close by to make it seem like vacation, lol. It's changed so much downtown and it's been awhile since I've been through there I don't remember much. I guess me and my mom will take a ride around there so I can look for stuff. I don't drive, so I don't even know how to get there myself. This is so cool, nothing this exciting has ever happened here, nothing like this has ever happened to me ever either. David Cook twice within 2 months and once right where I live! I think I'll die if I don't get to meet him this time.

Any idea how big this venue could be? It's such a wide range! It could be anywhere from a huge basement-like area to a small room with 300 people in it.

The woman with whom I exchanged emails at the Convention Center in Chattanooga didn't tell me how many tickets were sold but did say that the venue was 18000 square feet so I'm leaning towards the "Huge basement-like" area. It is exhibit hall C. According to the site map, exhibit hall C seats 1800 for theater seating. I don't know though that we will have seats so this is approximate. Now you know what I know. smile.gif

It's fairly huge. It's tall too, has multiple floors. However I don't know, they might have it in the basement if they have one. I'm going to call tomorrow and find out more information. I forgot about the fact that they have boat shows and car shows in there, so I think we'll manage to fit, lol. It says standing room only on the ticket site (DCO's link still doesn't work for me) so I'm not really sure, I'll have to call and see if they know anything yet and what I can drag out of them about the size and which part of the building and how many tickets are being sold. I don't get up too early, so it will be afternoon when I call and I'll try to get on here at 7:30, 8:00 at the latest. I was way too messed up to post the other night, there are parking garages all around it, if memory serves correct they range from $1-$5. David drives me nuts.

ETA: I found the website, so I may have typed the other for nothing, it may tell everything. I haven't explored it much yet. I think it's the upper floors where they have parties and stuff. I can't remember **** anymore. I guess if they can have a car show, it will handle a David Cook concert, don't know. I am so stupid, I should have looked for the website first thing, seeing as how I couldn't really remember anything about the place.

I'm sorry I didn't get here before now. I woke up late and a little sick. It was late when I called the venue and it said all operators were busy and I had to hold and I really didn't have time right then. They have a little automated message about the concert, but it doesn't give any info, just the date and how to get the tickets. I ended up having some chores to do before I got on, sorry. I can call tomorrow, but I have a sleep test tomorrow night and can't get online till Wednesday afternoon. On the website it has an 800# you can call, if you want to. It's a month from today! Yay! I'm sorry I had my info about the place messed up, I'm so excited about it and my memory isn't that good and David messes with my head (Which sometimes I don't really mind.). Please forgive me. The website shows how big the place is and has pictures of the inside. It says they can take walls down and combine the 3 exhibit areas and it makes 100,000 square feet, so I think we'll have room. Again I apologize. This is so surreal, a dream come true (see if you sing the disney song and David's song enough dreams really do come true) cause there is room for an official meet and greet and to meet him and possibly get a hug from him, right near where I live, I just hope I don't have a stroke or heart attack, lol. Good night.

Sorry to double post. I'm really sorry I'm not keeping up with this. I had the sleep test and the next day I was yuck. I called yesterday, but got the hold message again and I didn''t get online. I emailed one of the event coordinaters, there were 3, I hope the one I picked is ok, I guess they can transfer the message to the one in charge of the concert. I asked them what information they could tell me, how many tickets sold, how many are expected, and which part of the building will it be held. Hopefully I will get a response soon. Company has arrived tonight so I may not be getting online as much, but will try to check email everyday and on here. Saturday we're having a reunion so I may not be able to check in. Again sorry I'm not doing a very good job.

I got the email back today. I nearly fell out of my chair when I read it.

Thank you for your interest in the David Cook concert. The client is planning to sale 1200 tickets, the concert will take place in Exhibit Hall C. I have attached a map of the facility. Yes, you’re allowed to bring in a foldable chair. I hope I have answered all of your questions!

Thanks Again,

1200!!!!!!!!! Aaah! I can't stand in that big of a line even if I have a chair, it's going to 90 degrees by then. I was planning on getting there at 5:30PM since doors open at 6:00PM. My makeup will melt, my hair will flop, I'll start stinking from all the sweat, possibly wet my entire shirt, ugh!! I don't mind hugging David if he's all sweaty and stinky, but girls are supposed to smell nice. I will definately not be close enough, yet again, for good pix. I am getting a camcorder though, so at least I can get a video, even if it isn't close. It's possible they won't sell that many tickets, and with that many ppl I won't even get a chance to get an autograph, much less a hug, grrr. Sorry for my rant.

I checked the map. Exhibit Hall C, is one of the smallest rooms, 18,000 sq. ft. You have to pass through Exhibit Halls A and B to get to it. Exhibit Hall D is the same size as C. THe map was a dl, but you can find it on their website. Yeesh, another sardine can.

Maybe they will let us line up inside. I also got email from the person you did. I gave her a heads up that there would be a line forming early so they may make some kind of arrangements. I am excited that you are going.
