So, I am assuming this will be a multiple musician concert, and will be general admission...or...??? Anyone know??

I live in Lansing and I am going to go see David -- for the fourth time. I am soooo thrilled that he is coming here!

I've seen David perform several times since September 2008. I saw him: 1) during the American Idol tour in Grand Rapids, 2) at Ford Day in Dearborn -- I met him and got pictures with him, and 3) at West Virginia University in March 2009 on his solo tour (I actually saw him in a bar before the show and bought him a drink -- what a cool experience).

I also have tickets to see David at the Allegan County Fair on September 15.

Yes, I am a David Cook fanatic! I cannot get enough of him!

Common Ground is a really cool outdoor music festival. I've been to it several times. Various musicians/singers perform during the week on several different stages. In addition to David, I am going to see the Stone Temple Pilots a few nights before David. Sheryl Crow is also performing on July 9, the night before David, but I cannot go. I think Saving Abel, 3 Doors Down, Los Lonely Boys, Billy Squier, Huey Lewis (is he still around?) and some others are performing as well.

For more information, go to the Common Ground website at http://www.commongroundfest.com/.

Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't rain. Have a good time everyone!!!

Hi Tracig!

So I am assuming that there are several stages going at once, from your past experiences there??

Thanks!! (I am just trying to decide if this is worth flying out from Rhode Island for....)

I'm really not sure if they are all going on at once. I'd think that would cause noise/listening difficulties because Riverfront Park is not that large. I think they stagger things time-wise, so not more than one performer/band is playing at once. But I'm not positive about that. You might want to check the Common Ground website to verify how it works. I think the times of the artists' performances are listed on the website and the stage they are on, so if you notice that two performers/bands are playing at the same time on the same night, then "yes" they are obviously playing at the same time but on two different stages.

I'm not sure that Common Ground is something you want to fly from Rhode Island for, given the expense of a plane ticket these days. I've lived in Lansing for over 20 years and have gone to Common Ground several times, and I wouldn't fly here for it. Don't get me wrong, it's fun. It's just not a huge event. It's mostly locals and MSU students and maybe a few people from surrounding larger cities, like Detroit or Grand Rapids, but not really people from out-of-state. But if you're a die-hard David Cook fan, then do it!!!

Thanks tracig for the info! smile.gif Well, since Cookie just added Foxwoods (only one hour from me smile.gif ), I porbably WON'T go to the Lansing show. I was kinda thinking of using that as an excuse to come to East Lansing again (I graduated vet school from Michigan State), and also one of my very best friends lives in lansing, so I was going to use it as an excuse to see her as well. smile.gif We'll see..who knows, I still may come! smile.gif

Thanks again...
