You're welcome! Are you planning on going to the concert? I would really like to attend but will be driving up from Medford. I am not familiar with the venue or the area for that matter. Is the concert in a covered arena or outdoors? I'd love to hear from you or anyone else that might know the answers. This is so exciting! David Cook in Oregon! Right on!

Yes, I'm planning on going to the concert. I'm so excited, because my husband will be going with me, he has never seen David live so I can't wait!

I've never attended a concert at the L.B. Day Amphitheater, but here's what I've heard from other Oregonians:

The venue is reserved seating
It's not covered

Here are a couple of pictures I found of the Amphitheater:

I hope this helps.

All shows are acoustic because of city noise restrictions (Yay! we get acoustic Dave!)

I was hoping that you'd get back to me. Thanks for the pictures. My husband will be coming with me too. He will be happy to hear that the music will be a bit quieter. He was not too happy about the volume with the Idol Tour. Hopefully we can get tickets. I've been seeing that the concerts are selling out quickly. Any idea as to the cost? Let me know if you find out before Friday. Thanks!

I've been to LB Day for a couple concerts, though I think the last one was about 8 years ago. I also used to live less than half a mile away. The shows aren't super loud, but they're not acoustic, either. I could make out words and hear all the music when sitting on my porch when I lived there. It's small and cozy and there isn't really a bad seat in the place. There are signs on I-5 to get there and it's a fairly straight shot from the freeway.

I'm not sure what those golden circle tickets they advertised were about. I got on right at 10 this morning and got red section 3, row 3, seats 19-20. The seats I got were $40 each, plus fees which include fair admission. I paid $94.10 online.

We'll be headed up from Eugene that day. We went up to Tacoma for the Idols tour, so really looking forward to something smaller, even better seats, and all Cook!!! Can't wait!!!

Dang! I knew there must have been a pre-sale code! That's what I get for not lurking here often enough. I'm still happy with third row, though.

Anybody know how you get that little statement on the left off of there. I'm far past just "starting to like cookies." biggrin.gif

I did not realize that you could pre-sale the tickets. I went to my neighborhood Safeway to purchase them The clerk was a bit slow and it was probably 10:10 before the order was placed. Anyway, I'm pleased that I'm at least in the red section. How will I know who you all are? Any ideas about where to stay over night? Are you all going to the fair during the day or just showing up? I'm so excited! David Cook has really charged up my youthful spirit.

I'm sure we'll figure it out when we get there, it'll be so nice to meet up with everyone smile.gif Maybe we should wear name tags, lol! I don't live in Salem, so I'm not sure about places to stay, sorry I can't be more helpful. For me it's only about a 45 min drive to Salem, but we wanted to be early just in case so we'll probably go for the day, I'm not sure if we'll be checking out the fair too much though, maybe.

Can't wait to hopefully meet everybody!

Hi there all:

My daughter and I are also going to the Oregon State Fair concert to see David!! WOO HOO! My husband and I travel full time but are originally from Milwaukie, Oregon, about 15 miles south of Portland. We'll be back home for two months and luckily that Saturday, Sept 5th falls when we are home!

We have tickets in Red2, row 1, seats 11 and 12 (I think those are the seat numbers). My daughter and I both bought two tickets, not knowing who would get into the web site faster and get better seats, so we have two tickets to sell: they are in Red2, row 8, I think seats 15 and 16. They were the $40 tickets and my daughter has them in the Portland area. We would sell them at face value for what she paid for them, plus the fees, for a total of $94.10.

If anyone on this thread is interested, PM me or just reply to the thread. We wanted those on the dash to have first choice before we put them on craigslist in Portland.

Thanks....

Sheila

I'm in the VIP section 3 row B!

diggincookie - I'm glad you were able to get tickets. I'm afraid I can't recommend a place to stay either, I'll driving over Saturday morning from Bend with my husband, daughter and daughter's friend. We plan on enjoying the fair during the day since this concert is reserved seating.

Haha, I was wondering the same question. We can discuss meeting up somewhere for those who are interested once we get closer to the concert?

Hi Sheila,

I recognize you from the Rockin" G-ma thread! I'm not a G-ma but all the ladies and one gentleman in there were nice enough to adopt me as an honorary granddaughter months ago.

I'm so glad you will be back in Oregon for the concert! It's awfully sweet of you to offer your extra tickets to D-C.org members. We have a ticket exchange thread here that you might want to post your tickets in. Here's the link to the thread:

http://www.david-cook.org/Ticket-Exchange-...our-t17364.html

Good luck and I hope to see you at the concert!

We are leaving on Saturday morning also. Since we live in Medford we will be staying overnight. I have never been to the fair so we will be going also. If we meet before the concert no one can laugh at me...I will be pushing 51 by then. David has turned me into a younger woman. Anyone else my age or will I stand out in the crowd. I hope not!
