Of all people, my mom told me about this upcoming date I didn't see it anywhere else on the site so I thought I would share. I have never been to Lupos so I am not too sure of the venue. I can't believe he is coming to RI again!!!

American Idol winner David Cook will perform at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, 79 Washington St., Providence, on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 1 at noon at the box office, all f.y.e. stores and at www.etix.com. They're $20 in advance for general admission, $32.50 for reserved seating.

I'm so excited!! I found out this morning! Counting down the minutes until noon! I almost got tickets to Clifton Park -which is over 3 hours from me - but couldn't find anyone to drive over with me! And now I find out he is coming right here!! 20 minutes away!! The universe is kind! I can't wait!!

*sigh*

I am close by in MA, and came to Providence for the AI show last year. But... I am not getting tickets for this today. Don't have hubby's October work schedule yet, so I can't commit. I was flailing back and forth between the ticket type to get anyway, as I'm not a wait in line all day kind of girl (responsibility to 2 little kids does hamper that), and I know that guarantees that I will be 10 rows back.

Anyway, here's hoping I will be joining you guys.

my tix are spewing out of the printer!! i am so excited! i ended up getting some of each. i wasn't able to talk to people so i don't know who will want to go! i got a couple mezz. tix in case my mom decides to go. i don't know that she will but ... she is a big fan and keeps saying she wants to go to one but I think the concerts are a bit too hard for her - musically and physically. We'll see how she feels when he is this close!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank GOODNESS I found out about this in time. I found out over the weekend on DCO--can't believe it never got posted on here. But fortunately, someone was talking about RI on the DWOP thread...and I was like.... and checked out the schedule..and sure enough--there it was!! Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!

SO--I WENT to the box office today!! The universe loved me today, as I was able to fannagle work to be done well before noon today (UNHEARD of in my profession!), AND got a parking spot right across from Lupo's!! (again..unheard of!!-I mean, downtown Providence at noontime?!?!?!! ). I was second in line, AND the box office girl secured the balconey seats we needed, so they wouldn't be released to the general sale at noontime. WOW_-I wish I could go to the box office for EVERY show to get tix. Sure beats crashed servers, busy signals, and frustration!!

The upshot? I got 2 tix in the front row balconey, dead center. AND the box office girl said you could still go downstairs into GA if you wanted to. So me and my sister will be there, and this way I can either have seats and/or fight GA. SWEET!!!!!!!

I am so excited finally David is playing a show 30 mintues from my house. I am so excited. Must now figure out who to take with me and what to do about work.

SourceNRG: It was totally on DCO! There is a thread there in the East Coast forum, as well as it being listed on the events page. Just glad you found out on time. I'm jealous of your seats.

Still hoping I'll be there. I won't know for a while, sadly.

I wish I had know before this morning - or I would have gone to the box office too - and we would have met today! and my mom would be in the front row not the 4th! lol. c'est la vie. I don't go DCO much because it takes forever to load on my computer. Guess I better make more of a habit of it!

Hello again!

So I had no plans on going to this and was kind of bummed. I saw him at Foxwoods so I figured that would have to be enough for me. Fast forward to my birthday tonight (well techinically last night 9/4). My sister and my aunt got me tickets as a birthday gift!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in balcony left row Hh. I went to Foxwoods alone but found out my sister will be coming with me to Lupos. I will convert her yet!!

So overall I had a fabulous 35th birthday

I know...I'm just out of it, I guess!! LOL!! Actually, I guess I tend to spend more time here than on DCO--I usually only read the concert recaps/vids etc on DCO, and never really check the concert/tour calendar to see if more dates are added. guess I learned my lesson. i have NO idea why I read the DwoP thread that day--I RARELY ever look at it..guess it was just the universe looking out for me. But now I will be checking the calendar onDCO more frequently, you can be sure of that!! Unfortunaltey, the calendar on here is just too unreliable. And aslo too, I just NEVER thought he'd be adding more dates so close to here, considering how many he ahs already played...never mind 5 minutes from my house!! Geez, he's all but playing in my living room! LOL!! I hope you can make the show, cookie_gal27.

Zoetica--I wish you had come to the box office, too! LOL!! But at least we can finally get to meet at the show. I am glad you were able to get tix!!!!

and does anyone know who's opening for David?

I have been poking around trying to find out about the opening act but I can't find anything. I am hoping it is Ryan Star because he is in the area and he was amazing at Northampton. If not, I am sure it will be somebody awesome. He has good opening act taste.

Is anybody else planning to get there super early? Can we form a posse?

They just announced Ryan Star is opening. I'm so excited because I was really hoping to see him again, especially since I didn't get the chance to meet him in Northampton.

i didnt think it was possible for me to be more excited!! but i am bonkers!! he is so great. i saw him in northampton and then in newport when he opened for collective soul this summer. yay!!!!!!!! this is going to the best night ever!!

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping there would be NO opening act, so we could get a longer DC concert, like he did recently at one of the shows. Not that I'm greedy or anything...LOL! ! Oh, well....

So--anyone have any idea what their plans are for Saturday at this point? I see that so far they are predicting showers...hopefully that will change between now and then!!

It sure will be crowded downtown on Saturday night what with the big Waterfire and all...parking should be fun....

I'm not sure now - with the forecast. I was planning to hang out all/most of the day but rain would put a damper on that for me. At least it feels like it would in my current just-got-home-from-work state of exhaustion!! And most of the people I am going with are not really into that whole deal. If I knew there was going to be a fun crew that would be more interesting. Hopefully it wont be too cold, as well as rainy!! Wouldn't mind trying to get in on the meet and greet at the charity event as well. What is your plan? You have assigned seats right? I have a couple of those but mostly floor tickets so I don't want to not be able to see. The long and short of all that is I have no idea!!
You are right about the parking with the big Waterfire and all. I will probably just suck it up and pay for the Convention Center garage - especially if I am there all day. Do you know a better trick?
Psyched that we might actually get to meet this time!!
