American Idol winner David Cook to play at UNI’s Maucker Union NI News Service Print this article Share this article Published: Thursday, January 15, 2009 Updated: Thursday, January 15, 2009 Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m., Jan. 26 for David Cook live in concert on the University of Northern Iowa campus. Sponsored by Panther Productions and the Campus Activities Board, the concert will be held Feb. 19 in the Maucker Union Ballroom. UNI students will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets during the week of Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Maucker Union before they become available to the public. Only cash will be accepted. Tickets are $5 each with a limit of three per student. David Cook, the 25-year-old reigning American Idol, debuted an astonishing 11 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, including “Light On” and “The Time of My Life.” Cook will be performing hit songs from his self-titled major-label debut album. “I’m putting out a rock record,” said Cook. “I just want the songs to kick you in the teeth or make you want to cry — or do something drastic, like jump off a building. I want somebody to be exhausted when they’re done listening.” Panther Productions has now joined together with the Campus Activities Board that has brought about Thursday night movies, Western Night, and other exciting activities to UNI students. |

i got my ticket on monday thanks to a nice friend who goes there... unfortunately the online tickets for wartburg sold out in a few minutes... which really sucks because my little sister REALLY wanted to go and i planned on taking her... :'(

I have 3 extra tickets for this show. I paid $50 each for them, so to break even I need at LEAST $100 for the pair. I will sell the third as a single for $50. PM me if you're interested.

I asked a friend at UNI about Maucker Union where David is playing: Here is some inside info about the venue:
As for the Union, I've always entered the ballroom through the union. I don't think they have a backdoor entrance. There is a foyer before going into the room that is a decent size. It is also right next to the main eating area so there is plenty of space for waiting inside. The union does offer some eating options but most of the food in the late afternoon/early evening is "fast food" or snacks. Not that this is relevant to anyone (ha!) but my sources say the doors will open at 7:30, it's Standing Room Only (no chairs).
