Hi!

I've heard on an interview about something happening to David's favorite hat... They weren't specific about it (although everyone - David, fan, interviewer - seemed to know what went down). So I was wondering if someone could explain to me, please?

At the end of the Red White & Boom show in KC, he threw the hat he was wearing out into the crowd......maybe that's what they were talking about?

In the third paragraph of the first post counting from the top:

"So I take the picture and then ask him to sign my picture. He says sure! Looks at it and I say I saw you at the Tampa show for American Idol. And he says I remember! I thought I met you before. He said of there is my favorite hat. I said yeah you wear it a lot. He said not any more because at the Oklahoma show a few college girls took it and signed it. I go oh that is sad. He gave a sad face and said they meant well I guess."

I'm pretty sure I heard something about this in an interview, can't seem to find it...

Well, does anyone by any chance know the story a little better, or which hat they're talking about?

Fedora is that a type of hat? Otherwise, no it doesn't, but I'm curious to read the interview...if you find it. Maybe some of us could buy him a whole bunch of hats like it and send it to him

Hehehe... Just edited my post right before yours, because I'm not sure if it's a fedora anymore. That was my idea! To try to find a hat as identical as possible to give it to him!

Can anyone read this? If so, we could figure out if goofy college girls signed it or not based on what it says.

As a side note, I bought a fedora and I keep swearing up and down that it's my Jason Mraz hat, and everyone keeps looking at me like 'you filthy liar.'

I have a great extreme close up of that hat from Idols tour last year in St. Louis. I have the pic at work so I can see it all day...I will bring it home tomorrow and post it My friend took a disposable camera...so it is not digital

The fedora was signed by a band he loves and saw somewhere. It says something like "Hey David! You Rock!"...not exactly that. But, when i went to the Jimmy Kimmel show, I met Dave and he told me that he had lost his fedora...so maybe thats what they are talking about..?

well, you can. I mean it´s definetely not good for hair. Seriously. If you wear it too often...
But caps are more dangerous, I´d say..

heh,ok,sorry..somehow i didn´t get it right.. mainly that ´Get out!´ part... i was like wtf?

OK, yes, i´ve read it in some magazine, i believe.
well, and when you think about it, it makes sense. cause even when we wear it to protect our head and hair from cold or heat, it weakens hair, harms its structure and surface and it gets oily (i dunno if this is the right word, but i hope you know what i mean;) ) sooner. and then imagine what happens when you wear it too often and even when you don´t have actually reason to wear it.
soooo, the point is not to wear it very often, i´d say.

Well I don't guess David has to worry much about wearing one too often, cause in an interview someone asked him about his hair, I can't remember the exact quote, but something like having fun with it while he's got it because of gentics he won't have it for very long. I wish I could remember the exact quote cause it's really funny. I hope he doesn't lose it though, but I'll still love him. He does have thin spots maybe the hats are what caused them, yikes. He does look hot in a fedora though, and caps too, don't care for the tobbogans much.

i think ryan asked him after he got his hair cut on AI. he said something like "tell because of genetics it won't be here for too long so I'm just enjoying the ride!"

Genetics can suck sometimes. Well I'm sure he'll look good without hair too. Hey if worse comes to worse he can always get some sort of toupee or use that rogaine for men or something like that

During AI he also said something to the effect of "(my) hair is a work in progress because I only have about 15 stands of hair on top of my head." I searched for the exact quote but couldn't find it.

He also told Ryan Seacrest that he was going to be touring until all of his hair fell out.

Anyways, I don't think it's the hats, though maybe they are not adding to the cause. I think his hair started thinning ages ago...like before Idol probably.
