A QUICK NOTE TO THE MODS: This posting isn't a breach of privacy, as the entries of this blog was meant for his fans and audiences. This is not his Xanga posts, which would be a breach of his privacy, but his myspace, intended for his fans. Just thought I'd double clarify that.
LANGUAGE WARNING. QUOTE Monday, March 14, 2005 Welcome, bitches... ...to my solo project myspace page. Drop a line, say hello, and tell your friends. Hope you enjoy the music as much as I enjoy your beautiful faces. Peace out, you punk bitches, 'cause it's on like that. QUOTE Friday, March 18, 2005 EVERYBODY READ THIS!!!! Current mood: anxious Ok... Since Myspace's server's are all muddled up (trust me, muddled is a word...) I have decided to post the songs up on purevolume.com I made my website link the link for it, so check it out. Like most things, however, you may have to wait a few days for it to go through, but I'm hoping it will be up quickly. On another note, Thanks to everyone who's been on here already. Your comments as well as your general support are awesome. This is definately a step out of my particular comfort zone, and every one of you is making it that much easier. Please continue to tell all of your friends to come check it out. If they're myspace-aholics, have them request me as a friend, send me an e-mail, comment...anything. As long as they're hearing the music and enjoy it, I'm happy. Peace out, you punk bitches, 'Cause it's on like that. ~David QUOTE Monday, March 21, 2005 R.I.P. Ian Ian Drazsick, rythym guitar player for my brother's band, CRIMSON, passed away Friday at the age of 19. He'd been diagnosed with cancer during the summer. My condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be missed. QUOTE Tuesday, March 22, 2005 MUSIC IS UP!!! www.purevolume.com/davidcookmo let me know what you think.... QUOTE Sunday, June 12, 2005 your friendly neighborhood update For the next couple of months, I'm playing rythym guitar with my friends, Tulsa-based band MWK. Check them out at www.midwestkings.com, and look for a show near you, so you can come and say hello. Also, www.axiumrock.com is a good place to go, and there's always www.purevolume.com/davidcookmo Lastly, I just starting tracking on a new solo song, called "Searchlights". I'm hoping to get everything else done here in a week or two, so I'll try to get something tangible up for you to listen to ASAP. QUOTE Monday, July 11, 2005 nearing completion Mr. Josh Center came in today and did that last of the drum tracking...Go check out his website www.joshcenter.com I'm going to work on trying to get some of the next batch of songs up for you to listen to shortly, and for those of you wanting me to make these downloadable...If I sell 2000 copies of this album, then I'll MAYBE put them up for download for a day or so, just as a reward...time will tell. ~David QUOTE Thursday, July 14, 2005 would anyone.... ...like to hear a new song? I'll give you three options and one week to decide...cheers. a) Straight Ahead c) neither... patience is a virtue that I posess. ~David QUOTE Thursday, July 21, 2005 Fall Back Into Me... hope you guys enjoy the new song. Ben Hosterman engineered it, and I think he did an amazing job. Let me know what you think of it. ~David QUOTE Thursday, November 17, 2005 photo shoot and more.... OK, so here's the skinny.... I posed in my sexiest pair of lace undergarments for some promotional photography earlier this week, under the watchful "eye" of Ms. Randi Kampeter. It was entirely too much fun and I can't wait to show you the results. We just have to find a way to wash seminal fluid out of an aperture lens (that was a joke.) Also, I know I've been teasing you constantly with this whole "solo album" business. I mean not to string you along. I'm currently looking for a "financial friend" who wants to invest in me and my music, so until then, or until the Missouri Lottery stops being a huge douche nozzle, this will be the only place to hear my stuff. I AM DETERMINED to get this album out for all of you, as well as myself. I'm extremely proud of this and I want to share it with you all. So, as a result, I promise, that SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, this album will see the light of day.... Lastly, make sure you check out this page for upcoming show dates, etc. And also, for those of you who are not yet aware, I also play in two other bands...axium (www.axiumrock.com OR www.myspace.com/axium) and MWK (www.midwestkings.com OR www.myspace.com/mwkmusic) So, check those pages out for show dates as well, and for Christ's sake, come see me. Grandma would've wanted it that way. Love you all and thank you for the continued support ~David QUOTE Monday, February 27, 2006 The Official Generic "BIG NEWS" Post Today is February 27th, 2006, and here's what's going on in my world... I found a financial backer. I am not at liberty to discuss him/her just yet...in due time. However, I am at liberty to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to him/her in hopes that he/she reads this and/or looks at this page. I did some scratch track recording for the last two songs on the album, and I will be, barring any scheduling conflicts, recording these last two songs at the beginning of March in Tulsa, OK. Lastly, I've been thinking of changing the name of the album from "A Second Chance At A First Impression" to "My Analog Heart". The former title is pretty obvious to those who know the story of David Cook, but for those who don't, it basically implies that this album is a new start for me. A chance, if you will, to branch out from the whole Axium thing and try something else. "My Analog Heart", to me, symbolizes the whole "I wear my heart on my sleeve" mentality. Some view that as an old school, chivalrous thing to do, hence the "Analog" aspect. So "My Analog heart' suggests a few things about me. Anyhoo, I need your input. Which title appeals to you more? Remember, P Diddy said it best... Vote Or Die! I thought I told you that we won't stop, I thought I told you that we won't stop.... ~David Tuesday, April 04, 2006 DAVID NEWS : April 4, 2006 So, I finished the album artwork for my debut album, "Analog Heart". I'm putting it in the mail tomorrow afternoon, and so I should have them in hand, ready to roll by next month. I can say with certainty that the album will be on sale through CDBaby.com, as well as on iTunes beginning next month, so for those of you who won't be seeing me in person, but want your fix o' the Dave, Be on the look out for that. Also, I am trying to get a website up, so that this myspace page will merely be a supplementary site. Anyone want to do that for me? Hope everything is great we're you're at. I am extremely proud of this album. I've never worked so hard on anything before in my life, and hopefully it shows. I look forward to getting out and playing some shows for all of you, in hopes that you'll love it, run and tell your friends, and bring them the next time. Thank you all for your support over the last 10 years, whether it was just on here, or through Axium or MWK. Let's keep this thing moving forward, shall we? ~David Sunday, April 23, 2006 Alright kiddos...CD RELEASE INFO!!! First off, for the sake of saying so, the OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE will be May 2nd. With that said, I will be selling the CD, by hand, starting on Thursday night, April 27th, @ the Hurricane, which is also AXIUM's last show. So everyone come out, and check it out. Also, if you want to buy one off of me, in person, during the day on the 28th-1st, e-mail me in here and let me know. Secondly, I will be revamping the Myspace page throughout the week, and hope to have some links to where you can by the album online through CDBaby.com and iTunes by May 2nd. Lastly, I will be on Homegrown Buzz in Kansas City, MO, tonight from 7-9 PM, playing some songs from the album, as well as a sneak peek at a new MWK song that will be on the new album. So, if you're in the KC area, listen in. 96.5 FM is the place to be. See you guys soon. Thank you all for your support. ~David Saturday, May 27, 2006 SHOW CANCELLATION! The Art Bar in Dallas, TX Sorry guys. A few things fell out of place, so I had to bow out of the Dallas show. However, it will be rescheduled, so if you were planning on coming out, keep an eye out for the rescheduled date soon. Thanks everyone, David Monday, June 05, 2006 DAVIDCOOKMUSIC.NET is up and running! Go Check It Out.... Seriously, why are you still here, reading this? GO!!!! ~David Friday, July 07, 2006 iTunes and their recent addition of the Dave... You can now buy "Analog Heart" on iTunes! Go there as soon as humanly possible and snag it before they (never) run out! Also, wanting to procure a head count for the July 19th show at The Hive? Who's comin' with me, man? ~David Tuesday, September 12, 2006 Just your garden-variety, everyday update... So...I started doing some pre-production on some new songs tonight. Got one completely mapped out. The working title is "A Daily AntheM" (yes, the letter capitalization has some importance. hope all is well with you and yours. ~David Friday, September 22, 2006 A little new merch for ya's... Just got the T-shirts in. I'll post a mock up picture of them here in a few, but know that they're in, and according to Cosmopolitan Magazine, "these shirts are the newest fad sweeping the nation." I swear... ~David Thursday, November 02, 2006 Market Pub Thursday nights... For those who didn't know, I am now playing acoustically at Market Pub EVERY Thursday from 9:30pm to 12:30pm, in the shopping plaza on the northeast corner of 51st and Memorial in Tulsa, OK. My buddy, Andy Skib, is with me. Everyone should come out. Great drink specials... oh, yeah, which remind me, it is 21 and up. ~David Monday, December 11, 2006 New Material... just for you... I'm in the studio right now beginning production on a new David Cook album. I know, I know...I've barely given "Analog Heart" time to breathe... This new album will take a while. The first three songs I'm tracking are called "A Daily AntheM", "Chandelier", and "The Downfall". I'm very excited about the new stuff, so you may be able to hear one or two of these new songs at a live show...hint, hint. Take care, monkeys. ~David Saturday, January 06, 2007 "Analog Heart" Number 4 on the Top 7 Of '06! Head on over to http://www.myspace.com/musicequalslifesite and check the sweet review that Eric Nagle and musiceaulslife.com gave the album. It's a huge honor and I can't wait to get the next album out so I can top this one. As always, you can pick up the album by going to CDBaby.com or by purchasing it on iTunes. Thanks for all the support and Take Care D Thursday, May 10, 2007 Nominations for the Tulsa URBY's!!! Head on over to www.urbantulsa.com and nominate for the Urby's. And while you're at it, you can nominate David Cook (that's me, by the way...) for whatever awards you see fit. Thanks ahead of time for everyone who votes... Love you monkeys. ~D Monday, May 14, 2007 PRE-PRODUCTION BEGINS AGAIN... ... for the next David Cook album. Be prepared for a proverial aural onslaught. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 URBAN TULSA run off ballots: Indie Album of the Year Help if you want to: Head on over to this URL: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=Oqzl...OiT7guBJw_3d_3d OR go to www.urbantulsa.com, and click on the ABOT awards web banner. "Analog Heart" is up for album of the year, and your vote could help it win. Thanks for all the support. I'll let everyone know the result. ~D Wednesday, July 18, 2007 And The URBY's go to... Well, a lot of people, actually... But, "Analog Heart" did take home Indie Album of The Year! Thanks to everyone who voted. I really appreciate it. You guys are awesome. ~David Thursday, August 30, 2007 New Album Updates So we're all but done with pre-production. New songs are coming together sexy-like. We're going in to do drums on September 8th and 9th on ten songs. They are as follows: DISCLAIMER: These are all working titles and they are in no particular order. Also, any one of these songs may not make the album A Daily AntheM Precious Decline Chandelier The Downfall Only If... Better Late Than Never We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping Elizabeth Never To Return By The Fire, Gently Burning I'm also toying with the idea of a live track version of one of the songs from "Analog Heart". We'll see how functional that idea is. Lastly, I'm contemplating naming the album 'Optimistic To A Fault". Good idea? Bad idea? I want your input. Later, taters. ~D Monday, November 19, 2007 Album update... november 07 Current mood: creative Here's the skinny... the drum tracking is done. Aaron Baker has done a masterful job. This album is going to have a different vibe than the last, and a lot of that is due, in part, to Aaron. Right now, there are ten songs. I'm crossing my fingers for an eleventh, but time will tell. the tracks, right now, in now particular order, are: A Daily AntheM Chandeliers (Monty's pining for 'Scandeliers') The Downfall Debutante Elizabeth Better Never Than Late We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping Eta Carinae A Dirty Shame Precious Decline The album title is still up in the air. "Optimistic To A Fault" has been joined by "Remember This". thoughts, questions, concerns? Right now, we're looking at a March release, but nothing's set in stone. could be earlier or later. other than that, I hope everyone enjoys their holidays. take care and see you soon. ~D Currently reading : This Book Will Save Your Life By A. okay i have a question... he auditioned for AI in August of 2007 right? and he was working on an album at the same time? just want some clarity, trying to figure out the timeline and such. His second album was just about done with production when he auditioned for AI. It has never been released. Maybe we can hope some of it will make it's way to his new CD or even be released on it's own sometime. |

I liked how he gave an explanation on why he named his album Analog Heart. He wears his heart on his sleeve awww. I wish the media would ask him more about his pre Idol days and influences instead of some of the silly questions they ask him. They really need to focus more on his music and how he is an artist...not the "are you surpised you won?" foolish crap.

Thanks so much for posting this
I can just picture there working hard on his album It's good to be reminded how real this perfect being is This guy has a way with words and I love the way he uses every on of them I really hope he releases his 2nd album sometime The names of his songs sound really cool He keeps saying he wants to release an album with substance...i think this pre-idol album may have what it takes simply because it is pure and not restrained in any way But of course I haven't heard any of its tracks so who am I to talk |
