There was a thread somewhere... I'm not even attempting to find it now... about AI Season 7 being rerun this fall on Fox Reality. A great chance to re-record the season or DC highlights on DVRs and VCRs, make new video files on your computer, etc.
Another thing we have to look forward to is a DVD release, or several box sets. Best of Seasons 1-4 is already out, and I suspect they will release best of seasons 5-8 next year. Probably will be a short compilation of the auditions and then select performances, or maybe top 12 performances. I haven't seen the previous DVDs so I don't know how they're produced. In the past there have been "Best and Worst" of Idol DVDs, and some other special editions. With David such a breakout star we may see something released even sooner. Especially if his new album is as big a success as we think it will be. I can even see one focusing on the success stories, not just winners... Both Davids, Carrie, Clay, Kelly, Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Pickler, Jordin (maybe) and Elliot. Say what you want about AI, can't deny it's produced great talent. Stay tuned!

I vote for a live concert DVD --- but then, there would have to be a live (solo) concert to record, wouldn't there? Ha! I've enjoyed the AI performances, but now I'm to the point where 90 seconds of a song is just too darn frustrating. My FAVORITE DC performance vids are the ones -- which are few and far between -- that someone has got on tape that had no time pressure involved -- no commercial break to finish in time for, no talk show host looming over his shoulder, etc. These would include, for example, the Walmart performance and that funny little studio recording that Access Hollywood did (World I Know) the day after -- just DC and his acoustic guitar. GREAT. I think this must be close to DC in "small bar, late night" mode -- I love it, even though I know he wants to be a rock star with lights and smoke. happy.gif

I, too, am in favor of a live tour DVD! Seeing the performances in high-quality would be really cool. And don't forget about behind-the-scenes footages! cool.gif
