So, I've been thinking about this for a long time and have been meaning to post this topic, since I haven't seen anyone else talking about it (if there's a thread somewhere, I missed it) but what do you guys think is going to happen with MWK and Andy's side project, To Have Heroes? Since it seems that the guys are pretty bent on sticking together (which I'm really glad of, because I think everybody meshes well with David and I LOVE them as a band) I wonder if Andy and Neal are going to give up MWK, or go off and do MWK records when they're on break from David (and the to-be-announced band name for the entire group) Personally, I do really love Andy as a solo artist (THH) and MWK as a band, I have all their stuff and it gets played pretty regularly (when I'm not listening to David that is )

So what do you guys think?

I really don'y think they're going to end MWK or To Have Heroes. THH is gaining popularity right now with the promo squad handing out flyers and such at the concerts. And I don't think Andy would quit the things that he get's to sing in, expecially not To Have Heroes. I love MWK and THH very much, and listen to them about every day, so I'm hoping things will keep going for them both.

Ditto. I'd be really, really sad if they ended MWK and THH. But I'm thinking time-wise, it might be a while before we see anything new from them. I mean, Andy and Neal are (obviously) on tour pretty much this entire year, and presumably they will be on the next David record as his band, instead of getting other musicians to record the tracks. But I'm hoping they find time to get us some new stuff. I miss MWK, and as great as David is, I don't want MWK and THH to get overshadowed by how huge he is. I mean, it's not as if MWK was nobody before David's fame and connection - they had their fair share of success. And I LOVE Luna Despierta, and I would love to see MWK go further in that direction, because it's fantastic.

MWK maybe next year or something they will do something but,I don't mind the wait.To Have Heroes and MWK are just two of bands(projects) I've found though David that are amazing.

MWK has become one of my all time favorite bands.

I just think right now the guys are trying to get this tour done then get some work on there own things.

Thanks so much for posting that interview! I've never seen it. Definitely excited at the prospect of another full-length album from Andy and co. (Whether it be MWK or THH, it's all good)

I love Andy's answer to the last question, lol! "A hot dog." I love him.

It must be difficult for them to think of a time-frame to fit in making music for MWK and Andy for THH - I hope in the not too distant future, we get new material from both.

MWK are one of my favourite bands, their last EP was incredible and I could listen to Andy sing for hours, his voice is gorgeous.

David is so lucky to have such a talented group behind him, I'm super excited for David's next album because I have a feeling it's going to be huge!!

Ditto everything that everyone else has said so far. MWK has quickly become one of my favourite bands as well, and I believe they've still got a long way to go just yet. The same can be said for THH.

I have faith that all of these projects won't go by the wayside. Things may take a backseat for awhile and things may change, but the creative and talented people involved are still there. So much great music out there to enjoy. I look forward to what the future has in store.

I'm definitely looking forward to inevitable David/Neal collaborations on Dave's next record, whatever name it might be under (lots of speculation) Can you guys even imagine the beautiful songs that would come from that team? Two brilliant, amazing songwriters teaming up to compose? WOW. I'm so excited for that. I'm hoping for a record by the end of next year. *crosses fingers*

yup i agree with everything you guys said! MWK and THH should not end...they are quickly becoming even more popular and it would be a real waste..

I was looking for a MWK thread to resurrect and figured this one would do. Apparently, there is some news coming down the pipe according to Mr. Tiemann. We should hear something by 5PM PST Friday. So stay tuned.

All I can say is.....about damned time! I'll take anything MWK related.

I am hoping the news will be MWK is going on tour to pass the time until DC & TA are ready to go. Or maybe they finally have an album working. Andy, Neal & Dave have been doing a lot of writing! Anxiously awaiting news!

Touring costs a lot of money. I would be absolutely delighted with a tour, but I would be shocked to hear of one. I would be thrilled with some new music.

I wish they'd tour, but I highly doubt it. At the most, maybe they'll play a show or two. I'm thinking the news is a new CD or EP, which I'd totally love! It's about time!

There is new music written, so that is definitely a possibility. And hey, a show would certainly not be unwelcome. They have some time before David's CD drops. I certainly don't want them to get too bored.

Edited to add that it is now 5:05PM PST Friday. Neal is late with his announcement. Am I surprised? Nope.

In some extra time Andy and I have from our main gig, we are going to be hitting the studio for a live session. We’ll be playing a batch of songs acoustically that span our MWK career. You may already know the titles of the songs, but we’re going to throw in some twists and turns that I know no one (not even me yet) has heard. And, for those still not satisfied, we will do early versions of some new material we’ve been working on for future, full-band releases. This session will be available soon in some form – we’re still discussing that part. There will also be music from this that will be streaming exclusively on nealtiemann.com and myspace.com/mwkmusic. I hope everyone will get as excited for this as we are to release it!

So ridiculously excited! Yay for "twists and turns"!

The MWK news this week is exciting. Can't believe some folks on twitter are upset that Andy & Neal are getting an acoustic recording before Dave. I say, if Dave is happy for them, then so am I.

Every time Neal and Andy do something that isn't David related, there are always some people who pitch a fit. I'm not sure I understand the wording "getting an acoustic recording" though. They are not getting one. They are choosing to do one. There is a studio there and all they need to do is have the time and the desire to use it. They have no label to answer to for MWK and so they are making use of their downtime by pursuing their music. That project will always exist. I'm glad they have some time to give us something before David's CD drops and they begin touring once again.

I would love for David to do something acoustic. I do tire of the same recorded sound with the loud choruses. I would love to hear another side to his singing. I bet I would really enjoy it.
