Idol Gives Back 2010 will be on April 21st this year and as you all know, our David Cook will be participating. 'Idol Gives Back': Join the Cook Fans United Team


On April 21, "American Idol" will once again be putting on their "Idol Gives Back" telecast. In the past, millions have been raised to help several charities around the world combat and fight existing problems. This year, the foundations that will benefit from Idol Gives Back are Malaria No More, Children's Health Fund, Feeding America, Save the Children and the United Nations Foundation. David teamed up with the United Nations on a trip to Ethiopia recently to see what life is like for girls over there with footage highlights of his trip to be shown during the show.

Fans of David Cook have raised thousands of dollars in the past for other organizations so I know we can come together and do some good in the name of David for American Idol.

I have created a team entitled "Cook Fans United" and the goal is endless for how much we can raise. (I can continue to raise the goal as we reach each one.) While I may be the "Team Captain" so to speak, this is about all of us showing the world what Cook fans can do as one and that we all have the same common goal: to help those who need our help the most. I started the team only because I saw that there was yet a team for David's fans & I felt it only right that if other fan groups of former & current Idols had teams, that the Season 7 winner should have one as well.

I'm not doing this for any recognition or praise that may be bestowed or looking for David Cook's approval. I honestly just want to help any way I can, especially seeing the girls' faces from his trip to Ethiopia. How can you not be touched by the pure joy in their faces just from David, Neal and the UN wanting to spend time with them & learn more about their lives?

Once again, I encourage you to stand together with me as a fellow fan and support the team for Idol Gives Back. I know many are already donating to Race for Hope and may not be able to make a donation. I completely understand that & applaud you for supporting that amazing cause.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DONATING:
1. Go to the team page for Cook Fans United (link is above)
2. Click on either 'Join Team Page' found on the top of the page OR on 'General Team Donation' in the lower right corner of the page. Whatever you do, DO NOT click on the big red button on the lower left side of the page that says 'General Donation' as that will go to the general Idol Gives Back account and not to the team page.
3. If you decide to join as a team member, you do not have to necessarily raise the $1000 it is asking you to. That is just in case you have family or friends that you want to help donate to the cause & they can donate under your name to the team for David's fans.

The top teams and individuals will be spotlighted during the special and wouldn't it be amazing if his fans were one of them?
