Just another fan who can't seem to get enough of DC. I'm American, but I just moved back to Europe for a while, so I can't watch him on time anymore. I use this site to keep me up to date and as a support group for this crazy obsession!

I'm guessing I'm the only one on here, since I am a well known presence and no one else I've met has been from The Netherlands. The show doesn't air here either, so I don't know where these fans would come from. Maybe other expats like me. I was lucky enough to see and fall in love with Cookie before I moved. I've been "hanging out" with the Finnish and British fans on here. I noticed that we have had a huge surge in membership after David's win, so maybe some Dutch fans joined. Anyone?
I want to get some DC radio airplay over here, since they do have modern English stations.

My best friend told me about this yesterday. Okay, David Cook played with ZZ top on the finale, the drummer of which is Frank Beard. Frank used to be my neighbor in Houston (I just moved 2 months ago) and I used to play golf with his wife. My best friend just played with her this week and got to hear about meeting David. Supposedly Debbie (Frank's wife) got a lot of flack about not telling anyone they were going to American Idol. I don't think they had a lot advance warning. Debbie simply said David was a nice guy. I wish I was still there because I would have been driving her crazy with questions. My best friend is a Cook fan, but she's not Cook'd like all of us.
On a side note from knowing a superstar, (well, I knew his wife, not him so much), I hope Cookie doesn't get that aloofness that most rockers get. I can count on one hand the number of times Frank made eye contact with me. He always seemed to stare into space, trying not to focus on anyone. I'm sure that comes from years of being hounded by fans and papparazzi. His wife was one of the nicest people ever though and she was so much fun.

I know we all start getting anxious for some new Idol material about this time, so for those of you who need a quick fix, try watching these old Idolatry videos.
http://www.ew.com/ew/video/idolatry It is so funny to look back at their commentaries from the auditions and the top 24, etc., and see what they thought. Notables: They noticed DC in the auditions and thought he would make the top 24, and they couldn't believe the judges even put Syesha through to Hollywood! I was annoyed that they never talked about DC singing "Hello" and that same week they were going crazy about David Hernandez. I thought DC definitely had the biggest "wow" moment that week. Still, it's funny to look back at the early thoughts and predictions, knowing now how it's all turned out.

Hi all! I've been helping a lot of the international fans vote for David with Gizmo, but we tend to clog up the performance discussions, so I am starting a different thread now and lets sort out all of the problems BEFORE voting time next week.
THIS IS NOT JUST FOR INTERNATIONAL FANS! West coasters can use it to vote in the earlier time slot since it votes in the eastern time block. It works because it creates a vitual US number that you are calling from, so unless anyone has other ideas, AI cannot trace that it is a computer call. Please post your questions on here, or feel free to PM me with more specific issues. I'm kind of a computer nerd anyway, so I should be able to help. IF YOU SEE ANYONE POSTING ABOUT HOW THEY HATE THAT THEY CAN'T VOTE, SEND THEM HERE! Again, Gizmo is completely free and takes minutes to download and setup. Here is a picture of what your screen should look like when you call. You get 5 free minutes a day (AI is free anyway because it is an 866 number) so please practice before next performance show by calling 281-804-1641. That is my old cell phone number and you should hear a message about it no longer being in use. This will just confirm that you can call the US.

While the Ford music video this week was disappointing and short, the making of the video is hilarious. David Cook and Jason Castro are so funny! I think DC is funny in every one of those videos, so he must be a very funny person in general. In one comment on this, he says, "there's a tree that we somehow high-five back to life" and gives a seriously funny WTF? look.
