SO, my friends from Arkansas spent the week with me and she came to the show with me. We'd been planning her visit for months and it only seemed right to work the concert into our agenda seeing as we both adore David. I feel lucky enough to have met him before the show, even though he didn't come out after the concert and I didn't get a hug or picture with him. He did sign my sketchbook though, and he said things to me that I don't remember because I was in such shock. And I gave him a present. He wrote Optmistically Pessimistic in my friend's book before signing his autograph, because she told him how much she loves people's hand-writing and he thought that was interesting.
What's amazing is that we took Kris (friend from Arkansas) to NYC two days later. And guess who was there? The Idols! It totally wasn't planned, we didn't think we'd ever see them again, but the night before my sister was like "Oh, guys, the Idols are gonna be at the NASDAQ building." And we were like "That's pretty convenient." I took pics too and tried to be as un-stalkery as possible, but those are for another time (because if I transfer any more images onto my computer it'll explode, it's pretty much on the verge of crashing). I will, however, share these from before the Newark Concert. Enough words, on with the pretty. ![]() He was so cute and squinty, he didn't have sunglasses or a hat or anything like I'd seen in other people's photos. ![]() Some lucky person getting a hug. I was afraid to ask him because he seemed rushed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this last one's my favorite. Because he was looking right at me and his expression is absolutely amazing. I'd just given him his gift. ![]() It's that tie. I told him not to feel obligated to wear it, I just saw it when I was in Italy and it had little images of the statue of David on it. Y'know, the statue of that guy not wearing any... clothes. But yeah, I was like hm, David the statue, David the man. Zero innuendo whatsoever, I swear. The quality of the photo is bad because it was a screencap from a two-second video I took of him making that 'Well, would you look at that' expression saying "Thank you." I was so flustered with him in front of me and I felt like it'd be rude to snap photos of him while he was up in my grill so I pressed the video button out of nervousness instead. I know I told him he didn't have to wear it (and I wouldn't blame him, it's kind of lucicrous), but if he ever did I think I'd die. I'll share the NYC shots too... eventually. And maybe some concert ones, but we were in the nosebleed sections and they weren't the greatest images. |
