I love this song too! Very personal lyrics.
I love how David has let himself be so vulnerable with us on this album and especially on songs like this. Now I know what he meant when he used the analogy that writing this album was "like taking his clothes of in church." Awww David you aren`t holding anything back baby!

Let me tell you I have listened to this album (over and over and over) and yes, I am addicted to David Cook but put that aside okay... I am an older fan and haven't been into music for a long time because for so long it just sounded like noise to me. I wanted people to turn down the radio all the time and usually off in the car. I have Cook's stuff on full blast. I have an iPod and it's just Cook on it. Every single song on that album touches me, except with maybe Light On because you sure can tell David Cook didn't write those lyrics and you can tell if you listen to the rest. The album gives me the chills. I don't know how anyone could not love this album and every single song on it. This is an A++ rating as far as I'm concerned. Bar-ba-Sol starts off hard rock and then you just it a few seconds and Holy ****--you are hooked. I love every single song and they are all unique and different and distinct. There is no way anyone could hear "Daughtry" in this album--no way no how. Permanent is playing right now as I write this, and I'm crying. I don't do that--no song has ever touched me like that EVER. The ability to do that--separates David Cook light years above anyone else currently on the charts and hopefully in the future because people have to be totally deaf and cold not to be affected by this album. |

My first impression of the lyrics is that he is singing about the other AI contestants. They were really close on the show and I think that some of them had a feeling when they weren't going to make it to the next round. To me the song says "don't even talk about it" like they need to just get through the next day.
Of course I am probably TOTALLY wrong, LOL. |

I love how the melody+lyrics is heartbreaking to listen to. It's like there's this "defeat" or "resignation" going on and yet the person is still trying Hmmm.. I just listened to the song again and it kinda reminds me of Iris by the Goo goo dolls. Weird huh. but it really does. I hope he releases this song. |

This is my favorite song on the cd. The live versions are even better.

Has anyone here read the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins? Because this song is word-for-word perfect for Peeta/Katniss! Especially the line "Let the cameras roll on/Keep pretending," now that's just creepy how perfect it is!

This is an amazing song. Honestly how many of us have felt this way before... truth is A LOT of us have... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. When I heard him sing this song in concert I got the chills. Who would really break David's heart? He is so darn sweet!!
