DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHEN DAVID COOKS NEW ALBUM IS COMING OUT THIS YEAR 2010? I REALLYT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW COZ I REALLY WANTED TO GET THE NEW ALBUM ON MY BIRTHDAY THNX! ANYWAY! WHATS THE BEST THING TO GET ON UR 14 B-DAY? COULD I GET SOME HELP HERE?

He has said that he hopes to have a summer release, so i'm thinking of june or july. Maybe a summer/fall release. But all we can do is wait!

July, mid July I think, then a tour to back it sometime in August. Don't hold me to it though things change.

I think everyones waiting for the album wordnerdsaresmexi....the anticipation is just insanely overwhelming... ......I don't think I'm the only one that feels that way, either.... lol

Anxiously awaiting!!!

Hoping they take their time and put out a quality piece of work. I'm in no hurry.

^ agreed to the above as well! all though its killing me to hear the new record, I also want them to take their time! If it does come out summer though/and tour I give huge props for David, hes been on the road for a l long time!..(well was) I'm guessing he likes the travel life ^^...(and a hopeful thought... please come to Seattle!! ..or better yet Vancouver!!)

I totally agree. Though I am looking forward to his album I am in no hurry. We know it's coming but I too want them to take their time and then knock my socks (and everyone else's) when it finally gets released. My fear is that if he rushes it out and isn't 100% happy with it, then it will get panned by the critics. It HAS to be different than the 1st (rushed) album and it has to be very good - good enough to be embraced by radio with more than the few singles he got to release on his first album. That hurt him. That does not mean I want him to take another year to release it because that would kill his career. His disadvantage is that he doesn't get tons of airplay anymore, and frankly I felt thrilled when I actually did catch him on any radio station in my area and a lot of people who listen to top 40 only are wondering already "what ever happened to David Cook?...too bad...." RCA did not do him or his album any favors - in that I mean that though it quickly went platinum, they didn't release the right songs to radio and they stopped releasing after Bar-Ba-Sol went nowhere. Daughtry was able to forestall his 2nd album because he got tons to singles released to radio and they actually play him over and over and over again so he was exposed to the maxium. David rode the momentum for sales having just gotten off A.I. but he doesn't have that now. Radio might not be too in a hurry to embrace his next single unless his album has huge sales within a reasonable period of time.

I am thinking it will be late summer and early fall. Heck it's almost July already. Summer is going to fly by, I just know it!!! (cries in sleeve).

I sure hope he is embraced by radio more this time around. He has to have that happen. I hope that the label is ready to back this project as much as is needed.

Wasn't there talks of a new single this month or the next? I don't remember where I heard it but it's not looking like it'll happen.

I'm used to waiting for music for my favorite musicians. Lord knows Andrew McMahon makes his fans wait till they tear their hair out, and it's still so flipping worth it. And David's album will be worth the wait, just have faith in him and wait patiently. Meanwhile, fill your time with other new music and these months will fly by, I promise

Absolutely! There is so much out there to enjoy. I always say so much music, so little time, LOL.

Not for me there aint. I love Cookie´s voice so much there is no one else for me in his genre. I am also looking forward to hearing what Casey James puts out, as he is another one who enthralls me. It is all about THE voice and musical talent. I can almost anticipate David´s new music. He said he was stoked for us to hear and as are we to listen.

Really? I would go crazy if I only listened to one person. I don't think that David limits himself to just listening to one person. I don't limit myself to just one genre of music either. What I feel like listening to varies from day to day depending upon my mood. Last night I attended an Eric Clapton tribute show near where I live because a musician friend I have was one of the many talented people playing. It was so inspiring to watch such talented musicians pay tribute to a genius like Clapton. I'm still feeling the high.

Well, they have to back him up because they spent a lot of money on him during this process and he doesn't have the momentum now of just being crowned the American Idol. It really centers on what they will allow as his first single. I didn't like their choices for the first album and they need to put out more great singles as each plays out to their fullest. They just dropped this first album even though it was a commercial hit. From my understanding, radio can't play any of David's songs off his album unless his label releases it to radio. I don't get that at all. Daughtry has tons of his songs played from his first album. He's okay but like I said, David's vocals are better and a lot of Daughtry's songs sound very much the same.

Right now the perception is "what ever happened to David Cook?"

Sadly, David isn't thought of as one of the most successful Idols, even though he's done better than others. This album needs to be bigger than DCTR was. I'm hoping whatever singles come from it will have a lot more radio play and support than the previous ones. I'd also love some air time on rock radio stations. We'll just have to wait and see.
