I really like this! I wonder why it didn't make the cut for his album. I'm glad David's music is getting in the spotlight again.

This song was one of the bunch of 30-second snippets that got leaked a month or so ago when someone found them on the Cherry Lane site. One of Cherry Lane's duties is to shop David's music around to TV and movies, so I guess that's how ESPN found it. But back when the snippets were discovered, David said they were unfinished demos that weren't supposed to see the light of day. Now, the ESPN guy said that David and his "group" just recorded the song last night, which seems unlikely since David and all the band members were scattered in different places around the country, but David did something on Monday (aside from buying Andrew's meals and hassling him on Twitter) that necessitated him leaving the site of the Extreme Makeover Home Edition house in Indiana and flying somewhere (presumably KC since he claimed on Twitter that he bought Andrew both lunch and dinner, but that could have been just joking around), so maybe David did record it Monday night.

In any case, ESPN paid for the rights to use David's song in their montage, and that's always a good thing. Personally, I think the song would make a great American Idol Season 9 coronation song, but I don't see where it would work as a single for David. It's too much like TOML v.2.0.

It's a fantastic song! I agree that it'd be a fantastic coronation song on AI, but it's not at all like TOML, IMO at least. TOML wasn't very David-y, but this is. It's not so sweet and happy, it's more rock-sounding. But anyway, are there any audio-geniuses that can make an MP3 and edit the words out of it or turn them down or something like that so we can't hear them as much? Is that possible?

I was thinking it was a little like a coronation song, but not quite. More like something about AI to go along LOTM. I wouldn't anybody else singing it for a coronation song, that would be just, eww. It sounds like David and a bit more rock, not so much pop. I can't really tell that much, cause I couldn't really hear it enough to tell much.
