Alright, so I made this video for my bestest, Kelly (cookie-monster), tonight.

I know, somewhat strange song choice, but I think it's how most of us feel when it comes to Dave, and she had mentioned something about this song, so yeah.

I'm nervous about posting this one LoL

Silly Steph! Why nervous?! Your work is *brilliant*! Let me count the ways for you:

  1. Amazing song by a good friend of David's
  2. "Here you come again" line set to David walking in Tulsa, into the room where he learned that he made top 24
  3. "You waltz right in the door" -- starting off with the clip from the finale (Love Guru) followed immediately by the clip of him walking into audtion set to "just like you've done before". Kind of a full circle moment there.
  4. "And wrapped my heart around your little finger" plays over DC tearing up after ABMB, the moment no fan will *ever* forget
  5. "Here you come again" set to playful David walking onstage at TTSw/JL.
  6. "You look into my eyes" . . . um . . . yeah, David's signature CFM look. *sigh*
  7. "how I came to doubt you" playing over MOTN?! Are you freakin' kiddin' me?! GENIUS! Because *everyone* thought Broadway week would do our rocker in. Instead, he stood up there, sang it straight and owned the freakin' night.
  8. "all you've gotta do is smile..." . . . aw, all of the best David smile moments, starting with Little Sparrow. Sweet.
  9. "here you come again" . . . walkin' down the hall with guitar in hand, just the way he was meant to be.
  10. "you're lookin' better than anybody has the right to" playin' over the grey jacket/outfit from ISHFWILF (best look, with faux hawkish hair back even)
  11. "and shakin' me up so" . . . um . . . yeah, to s*xbot?! Are you freakin' kiddin' me again!?!
  12. "all you've gotta do is smile..." set to my favorite David smile moment from ISHFWILF *AND* the fit o' laughter from MOTN when ALW told our poor David to pretend that ALW was a 17-year old chorus girl.
  13. "here you come again" . . . .David strollin' along the building where the soundstage is.
  14. "you're lookin' better than anybody has the right to" playing over rocker David with almost-faux-hawk back, strummin' that Les Paul. dang. (Dream Big, right?) Perfection.
  15. Keeping the front half all b/w and building to his-dream-come-true-on-stage-live-and-in-color at the very end.
  16. Making sure to capture his reign as Idol from that Top 2 performance all the way to the concert stage
  17. David clapping at the end of the song - brilliant.

Nervous?! Are you KIDDING me?! There are 17 moments of SHEER BRILLIANCE (and I'm sure I missed some) in 3 minutes and 10 seconds!!!

Lisa! I just saw this (I haven't been out of the Fangirl thread much lately) and it made me tear up, seriously. You have no idea what your support and your great comments mean to me. You're always the one who picks up on those little, tiny things I throw into my videos that I wish people would catch onto, but sometimes don't, I love that.

Steph.....I just don't know what to say.

That was so "amazingly perfect", I'm still crying Happy tears.

The song is perfect, and you know just how to catch every nuance of David's personality and put it in just the right spot. The black & white is perfect for showcasing David and not getting lost in all the flash of colors. That, combined with Carly's delivery of the song, is just breathtaking.

I'm afraid to watch it again here at work because I'm siting in my office, snivling with kleenex in hand, and people may begin to wonder. (but I think i will anyway)

All I can say is "WOW". What a beautiful tribute to our man. Carly Smithson would be pumped to know that her song was used for her friend David's video. I have always watched your videos and loved them, but this one is spectacular. Great job.

why the nerves, Steph? you know I've always enjoyed your videos whether it be about DC (my fave topic, hands down) or even your QAF videos, which is surprising 'cause I haven't watched that show ever.
