Okay, who's going? I know there's a bunch of us from the Chicago show going! Come and post in here ladies!
29 Jul 2008
Okay, here's the scoop! Jul and I are going to Ford Day the week after the tour is over, and want to make something special for the Cookie Monster.
How to contribute: - PM me or Jul pictures of you with David from the tour If you didn't meet him or didn't go to a show, simply write a short message to him about anything. One paragraph or a half page, please. *If your message goes over the limit, we will not put it in the book* - If you did attend the tour, write a message about your favorite memory. Same rules apply as above. - The books are a little pricey. We're broke college students and need some help with money! Anyone who has Paypal and can donate a few dollars, that would be great. Every little bit helps! If you're willing to help us pay for some of it, PM me and I'll give you my e-mail address. - Deadline will be announced after we call a Customer Service representative to see how long the book takes to print and gets shipped. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Feel free to post any and all feedback here. :flowers:

Jul and I got back to Toledo around 4 am from Cinci, after being stuck in traffic for over an hour. As soon as we got home, we went straight to bed and got as much sleep as we could, which only ended up being about 5 hours. Thursday morning we woke up and got ready, headed to Walmart to print out some pictures from Cinci, and left to go to Detroit! The drive to Detroit wasn't bad. There was a lot of construction, but no heavy traffic. We got to the venue around noon, and there was a decent sized crowd already there.
The first people we saw when we got there were 2 girls, Sammie & Meg, who we had met in Indy. They are big Syesha fans, and got AP passes to the show in Indy, so we chatted with them for a bit to see how it went. It was about 5 minutes til 2 at that point, so I decided to go sit on the top of the stairs (they were really steep stairs, and I could clearly see the doors opening and closing). Next thing I know, BROOKE comes around the corner, points at me and waves. I yell "It's Brooke!" but apparently no one heard me. The poor girl was wearing a "Hi, I'm on vocal rest" sign taped to her shirt. I ran back to my spot and patiently waited for Brooke to get to us. We hear more screams, and there comes Chikezie and Kristy! They were both moving fairly fast. Chikezie started out on our side, and recognized me and Jul and said that we were the girls who were sitting behind Luke in Indy. That boy has a good memory! I also asked him if he enjoyed his sweets the other night, and he's like "The candy from Joy Parker?" I nodded and grinned, and told him how amazing he is for remembering her. Archie was the next person out, I believe. He started on the opposite end from us, but seemed to be moving fairly fast. Finally, after about 20 minutes, he got to us and totally recognized our faces. He asked how we were doing and if things were better. We told him yes, and thank you for being so concerned and he said "Oh sure!" with that cute little grin of his. Again, we mentioned that tonight was our last show, and asked if we had tickets yet, and we told him no. He asked us if we knew if his dad was going to try and hook us up with something, and we told him no, and that he's done enough for us. After Archie left, it was about 3:15 and nobody was outside. We were starting to get worried.. and then DC comes out!!!!!!! Jul and I went crazy, and I even started crying a bit because I was so happy. He was very pressed for time and didn't have time to stop for pictures. He saw Jul and I and said "You girls are everywhere! Tonight is your last show, right?" We nodded, told him how much of an amazing experience this was, and mentioned that we saw his parents 2 out of the 4 shows. He got a big smile on his face when I said that. Jul asked him about the concert pact sign, and he said that he has it IN his bunk!!! We asked for a hug, and of course he gave us one and said it was very nice meeting us, and called us true, classy fans. A couple girls next to us gave him a few gifts, one of which was a pirate puppet. DC got a kick out of that! He put it on his hand, and wore it when he was signing autographs. It was too adorable! Syesha was outside at the same time as David, and said she was the last one to come out. The Jason fans next to us were so disappointed because they still hadn't seen him. She said that he was getting a quick nap in on the bus before meet and greet. It was 3:45 at this point, and we figured no one else was coming out. Jul, Mike and I went and sat on the stairs for a bit, until I spotted Michael behind the buses. We yelled for him to come over, but he didn't hear us. There was a truck blocking him at this point, and next thing we know, he's walking toward us!! Again, he saw Jul and I first and started talking to us. He made fun of us for being at another show, and called us Idol super fans. Michael literally went inside like 2 minutes before meet & greet, and was getting yelled at. He made sure that everyone outside got an autograph before he left, even though it caused him to be late to go inside. Jul will continue with part 2 of our review... For now, here are my pictures (and a few of Julie's). http://s349.photobucket.com/albums/q400/sh...20in%20Detroit/ Password: yolanda

July 22nd, 2008: Indianapolis
- We made the Word Nerd Concert Pact sign and brought it with us to the buses and had Cook fans sign it while we were waiting. - There was a guy who was a huge Carly fan. He had her name tattooed on his chest and she LOVED it. He also gave her a really nice scrapbook. Carly ended up giving him and his friends 5 after party passes. - Jason made his video blog outside with us at the buses. Jul and I are in it a few times when he pans out to the crowd! When he got over to us, he talked to Nic on the phone. - Michael talked to Laci on the phone and she spazzed out! We took a couple pictures of him talking to her on the phone, so keep an eye out for those, Laci. They'll be up soon (hopefully). - Told Michael that Annie was here again, and he was looking for her and said "Seriously? Again? Anne where are you?" but we told him that she sorta was and he looked confused. When he got to us, we showed him the picture of us from the after party in Chicago and he's like "Oh there she is, and OMG I look terrible in this photo, but you ladies are cute!" He signed our picture and drew a line by his neck to make it look like he was cutting it off - I held my phone out to Archie and asked if he could say hi to our friend Sarah and he did. - David didn't come out before the show. - We brought Ramiele her sign that we had made for her in Chicago. She remembered it and said "YAY my sign! I love it!" We had bought her fun-sized Snicker bars and she told us that she's allergic to peanuts. We pretty much suck at picking out candy. - We went inside the venue and went to the box office, and asked what seats were available on the floor just out of curiosity. We had row 11, and the guy at the box office told us row 5 was available, so we went ahead and bought them. I asked the guy behind me in line if he wanted to buy our row 11 tickets and he did. - Heard soundcheck while we were waiting to get to our seats. - Saw David's step mom and dad. She remembered us from Chicago. David's dad said I looked awfully familiar and thought about where he knew me from. He then remembered me as the girl who was "with Andrew at the finale after party." - David's dad saw our sign and LOVED it. He read each point and said thank you after reading each one. He wanted to give us AP passes so we could give the sign and our gifts to David, but didn't have any extra ones. We understood completely and told him not to worry about it, especially since the AP was going to be full of his friends and family anyway. - Luke Menard and his wife were sitting directly in front of us during the show. Didn't recognize him at first, and realized it was him and HE asked us if we wanted a picture with him. He talked to us for a bit and was really sweet. - Amanda Overmyer and Peyton Manning were in the audience too, but we didn't see them. - A tall couple next to us kept making out during the whole show or were talking and not even watching. It made us so mad! - Everybody performed their hearts out since there were so many guests in the audience (David's family, Luke, Amanda, and Peyton). - Met everybody at the buses after the show. There were a ton of people waiting, but not as many as Chicago. We left during the middle of PDSTM and sprinted to the buses, and got a spot right on the barricade. We taped our concert pact sign on it so David could see it when he came out. - Crowd was getting a little crazy, even when the girls came out. Jul and I helped control the crowd a bit, and told people to pass things up to the front if they wanted anything signed. The venue security and Idol security really appreciated it and thanked us for helping out. - Ramiele saw us again and did her cute little excited smile and asked us why we weren't at the AP. - David finally got to us and he totally recognized our faces, but didn't say our names. He pulled us both in for a hug, saw our sign and he was like OMG let me look at this! He started reading it and got to about the 3rd one and looked us directly in the eye and said "Thank you very much. I LOVE IT," and got this huge grin on his face. We took the sign off the barricade and told him to keep it and he got this really excited look on his face and thanked us again. We asked him to pose with it and he did, and made this adorable winking face. - Brooke signed Jenna's 8x10. I also gave her Jenna's picture from the finale and she almost started to sign it, but I told her to keep it, and she was so excited! - There were some fans waiting above the level where the buses were parked and there was no way the Idols could get up there, but Michael made sure he could somehow. He jumped up on this 4 foot post and sat on it and made sure every single fan up there got something signed. At this time, it was like 3 minutes before they had to leave and security was yelling at him to get on the bus, and he just ignored them and kept signing until he was done. He finished, and gave Brooke a piggy back ride down the ramp. Okay, here are the pictures! They're all a huge jumbled mess, but they're all there. http://s349.photobucket.com/albums/q400/sh...ls%20in%20Indy/ Password is yolanda. Don't ask

I will not push or endager the others around me.
I will treat David like a human and respect his personal space. I will not take down an Archie fan for breathing closer to DC than I am. I will not scream in his face and blow out his ear drums. I will not force him to hug me by brute force. I will not assume he does not have a headache and yell louder incase he didn't hear me 40 decibals ago, etc.. etc.. etc.. Jul and I made a poster with the pact on it and are going to give it to David tomorrow in Indy. Please reply to this topic with your name and we will add your name to the sign. |
