The forecast said we would be getting a tropical storm, Hurricane Hannah, on the day of his bridgeport concert. i was worried, but of course my dad packed up and left for the concert. WE arrived at around 2 for the meet and greet and duh..David Cook!! I didnt get anyones autograph yet because I was pushed back, but I was happy just to be there. Chikezie came out, and I managed to push my paper up to him, yay! My dad and I left then to eat lunch in quiznos and get sokme coffee at dunkin dounts..yum! As we left though, it started to rain and hard!
We hurried back to the building were it was pouriing at about 5:30 because the doors were open at 6. Then, we stood inline to get inside. The water on veryines umbrellas would roll off onto me and my dad. i was a little angry but would do anything to see David Cook, when we we finally got inside there were little puddles on the carpet, it was pretty funny!!! LAter, though I got to hear my hero sing hello...yay!

I can remember all that day wondering if the concert woulod be canceled or if we wouldnt be able to make it. When David Cook came on, though, I lived in the moment and stood up, the only one in my row, and sang along..I love you David!!

Yes, I was at that concert. What a mess getting in and all and then it was hot inside.
But it was all worth it to see David perform!

We did the crazy ride for the day from NJ - for the barracade- it was a great day - we got back to the car right when the skies opened up and we had terrantial downpours all the way back to NJ. Got to finally meet David and a lot of awesome D.C.org fans. It was worth it. smile.gif

But even driving in the MONSOON was OK, 'cos I had Annette to keep me company and she had her laptop with her aircard posting and reading threads out loud to me -- we really did have a fun day LOL!

ETA: And of course, any day when you can get a high five for making him laugh like in my siggie below, well, that's just really worth it!

Hi Kathryn! My story about that day is a funny one. Kathryn remember the hot iron?
Kathryn, my husband and I went to get something to eat between meeting David and
the show. We were running around in the rain trying to find a place. My jeans got soaked.

I remembered I took my hair dryer with me thinking I was going to change for the show and may have to dry and fix my hair. I made my husband go back to the car for the hairdryer.
I told him that maybe I could go inside somewhere to dry my pants. It happened that when I was rushing in the morning, I took my hot iron and shoved it in my bag instead of the hairdryer.
I think my husband thought I was crazy or something when he saw it. He said to me you are going to dry your pants with this.
He knows me as this organized person that keeps a house together where 4 men live,
and he thinks that these David experiences are making me a little crazy.

I think I had slight pneumonia during the concert. I wanted to run to the back of the stage and give David a big hug and maybe ask for dry clothes. I was shivering the whole time but it was well worth it because David was like 10 feet away from me on the catwalk. It was the best 160 dollars I've spent. I was a little mad because before hand I didn't get to meet David because I won't get into it. It was disgustingly humid outside but I managed to get myself up there to the front to get a picture with Chickezie and Jason. I'm bad but I was pulling them towards me because you have to be aggressive and not shy.

Wow, we had a huge thread on Bridgeport, starting with the planning process right through the weather forecasts and then all the adventures and controversy and everything. You must have missed it somehow.

Check it out when you have time!

Well, I was surprised to see this thread pop up again. Yes, Bridgeport was quite the weather experience and driving afterwards was a challenge. But it was lots of fun!
Depending on where you all live, I wanted to invite you to our Boston area Album release party which is going to be on Saturday 11/22.
Check out my link for details:

Let me know if you think you might be able to make it!

Of course you can come! Age does not matter when it comes to DC.
In any case my daughter is your age and she is bringing friends.
This will truly be a group of all ages and I would love to meet you.
PM me if you need more information, there is a thread on here somewhere that I may resurrect this week.
