I just read where on Mj's where Simon is still pimping Lambert. UGH! He had the nerve to say lambert had more talent then last years group and last years group was like robots. While I did not love all of last years group Cook is miles ahead os Lambert. I would even venture that Lambert is the reason many loyal Idol watchers have tuned out.
Talk about Boring. Lambert is so repetitious and all he can do is scream. He possibly might sell less the Hicks did. Ok all you resourceful fans how do we get a message to Simon? |

Season 7 were not robots, Simon is just an a** trying to pimp this season. This is only my second season watching the show but I hear Simon usually bashes the previous season to pimp the current one as the Best!Season!Ever!. Whatever. Based on this year's show I'm not sure I'd tune in to season 9 (which of course will outshine season 8
BTW, one could make an argument for calling the judges robots since they're all one-trick ponies and pull out the same old lame comments all the time "self-indulgent" "forgettable" "artistry" "for me, for you" "song choice" "not your best performance" and my all-time favorite, "you can SING!" Uh, isn't that the point of a singing competition? You idiots put them there I sure hope they can sing If anyone wants to see the article, its here, but here is the part about last season: QUOTE THR: How would you rank this season so far overall?
Cowell: The contestants are interesting, they're talented. I think, arguably, with this guy Adam, he could be one of the best we've ever had -- in terms of an out-and-out pop star who could sell all over the world. So in that respect, it's been one of my favorite seasons. Much better than last year. I got bored last year. Just totally, totally bored. It was like judging a bunch of robots. |

They always say the current season is so much better than the last (though I find it's usually Randy who does it more so than Simon. I don't think I've ever heard Paula say something like that... then again, I could be wrong). I don't understand what Simon is watching because I've found these contestants to be much more robotic than last year. Last year we actually knew about the contestants, not just their names and if they could sing or not. I'm really doubting that I'll watch next season too. This season has been horribly and blatantly biased.
I agree with you completely about the judges, Tee! One thing I do every year is pick one contestant that I can imitate (mostly for the amusement of my aunts, I had a blast with that the year Sanjaya was on.) and none of the I can't do that for any of the contestants, so I'm doing it to the judges. Randy - "for me, for you, for ME it wasn't your best performance". Paula - *insert some strange analogy that most will understand but Simon won't*. Simon - "That was self-indulgent rubbish". The judges are very robotic and come out with the same thing almost every week, so how can Simon say the contestants last year were? I honestly don't find the contestants interesting at all. They claimed at the beginning that they wanted more background story on the contestants to make them more relatable to the viewers. They did a better job of that last year when they weren't trying to. And I don't believe Adam could sell all over the world. His style is an acquired taste, it seems and if you don't acquire it, you're not going to enjoy it. |

Wow! How insulting to Cook and company. Of course I totally disagree as do all of you! The only thing I can think of is that from about the Top 12, it was pretty clear who was going to be in the finals, so maybe in that way he thought it was boring. I also think Simon just likes to stir the pot. I think he had a lot of well placed comments for David last year, that got him going a bit. I think its rediculous to call them robots because last year had a lot of heart in it from just about everyone. I felt a lot sincerity from them. This is not to imply that this year they are insincere. I just don't feel like they are as emotionally open (Danny the exception) as they were last year.
I have a feling that there is a need to say these things to generate interest this year and this is a good way to do it. Everything is a gimmick from the fourth judge, to the save, to the quality of people that were put through to the Top 36, 36 in general, etc. I think the judges are saying things that they are almost told to say-pimp this one, say its the best, make it seem like there has never been a better contestant. I felt like last year Simon, more than ever started really throwing people under the bus in order to get the results he wanted. I think that kind of type of thing is going on more this year-he's more mean and when he likes someone, its over the top. I like Matt, but I think he described him as brilliant the other night, which from my perspective, he was not. And then he puts down Allison who truly was wonderful. I guess if you look at it from the perspective that you had no Bikini girl, Tatiana, or Norman/Nick, hissy fits, etc., then yes, it was boring! Jessica |

yeah I'm probably not gonna what next season either because it has become so blanatly biased. While the judges were always biased and had their opinions but this year it has gotten much much worse. It seems like for some contestants not matter what they did was wrong and for others they couldn't mess up *coughAdamLambertcough*. Simon is really starting to get on my nerves and I use to actually listen to his comments in the first few seasons. Now it seems like its no longer a talent competition but rather who in their eyes will make the most money and you can see this obviously with Adam cuz judges think he is the answer to Twilight. Simon's comment was really offensive. If anything this season is robotic with all of its created "drama"....

The whole show sickens me and I have been a loyal watcher since day 1. It doesn't make sense to me. Ok I know they are probably being told to hype this season to brainwash the public into thinking this is the best talent ever. But to go as far as putting down the previous season to make their point is like biting the hand off that feeds you. Don't they still want the previous winner to still sell his cd's? Listen it was the David vs David that really drew people in because it was soooo good with the best true talent out there. To me David Cook brought credibility back and the audience back. They should still be kissing his cowboy boots. Its such an insult to me, that I may not watch next season either. I can't hardly believe I'm saying this. I feel like repeating Paulas words to David last year. We have found David Cook and we need to look no further. David Cook has arrived! amen amen. I thank AI for David Cook but I think I'm done. Rant over. |

I completely agree with all of you. My roommate and I always comment about how nobody is up to david's standard this year. They are acting like they have never seen anyone like Adam who changes up the arrangements....HELLO David did it so much better last year and he even arranged some of it himself. Also I want to know why Adam hasn't gotten slammed for not remaining true to himself. He started off super goth and hard and now every week is getting softer and softer. How is that not remaining true but instead comforming? David never did this! I guess we will get the last laugh in the end when David outsells Adam. I hope Adam was paying attention on wednesday to Taylor b/c he can see what he will be doing in 5 years from now.

The whole judge thing is so obviously scripted. I remember last year on Larry King Simon said the 2008 group was the most talented they ever had. Now the robotic statement. maybe it is the new producer but it no longer seems genuine. We'll never know if they manipulated the winning before. We do know they aren't even trying to be sincere now. It just feels dirty. Time for cancellation.
So how do we tell Simon we have his number. All I can think is don't vote for anyone |

I can't believe Simon. All I know is that I feel that even the worst of last year is better than the best this year. BTW I am not voting this year. I will not go to a concert either, other than Danny I really have no desire to see any of them in concert.

If there's one thing I've learned from watching American Idol, that is not to take anything Simon says outside the show seriously. I only listen to him when he's giving his critique, but other than that, I'm like, *rolls eyes*...NEXT interviewee please!

I hate that all any of the judges do is pimp Adam. I'm sick of him, and he's far from the most original contestant they've ever had on the show. All he does is the exact same thing over and over and over. It's so predictable it's sickening, and they don't even call him out for being predictable (which they always do) It's like all of the judges decided way back during Top 36 that Adam was going to be it, so why bother with anybody else.
I hate that Kris isn't getting any love for his arrangements... hello!! He's mixed it up WAY more than Adam has, and he has made me love his versions more than the originals. I used to really listen to Simon, and usually agreed with him, but this season he's just disappointed me, especially because of Adam. He'll tear the other contestants to pieces, but it's like Adam is sacred. Can't say anything bad about the golden boy. If he wins. I'm not sure I'll watch next season. I'm not sure if I'll watch next season even if he doesn't win, if this is the way the judges are going to be, picking one favorite and pimping them the entire season. |

Can I just say Amen to everything you just said? It's all so completely true! Simon was the judge I used to listen to. I half listened to Randy and Paula. It was Simon's opinion I cared about. Now I really can't stand listening to Simon. It's awful that all he does is praise praise praise screeching and puts down singing. Wasn't he emphasizing the singing part today? Adam's songs are half sing/half screech. The best was Simon stepping over the line and saying 'I wouldn't assume he's in so you should all remember to vote.' Should we just buy him a fan t-shirt? Simon has really lost his credibility this season. |

I'm not sure if I'll watch next season even if he doesn't win, if this is the way the judges are going to be, picking one favorite and pimping them the entire season. They have done this before. Simon picked Carrie from the first show and she won. It was probably why I was so much against her the whole season because no one else stood a chance. If you remember though, they did the same with Chris Daughtry, Melinda Doolittle, and Archie and it didn't pan out. I'm thinking that it will this year though. My favorites never win in even years (Seasons 2, 4, and 6 not good for me or Clay, Bo, and Melinda!) It's just been so over the top. Why isn't Simon using his favorite phrases like "shouted it" and "self-indulgent?" I really have issues with him this year as well as the other judges. Looking at it, there was a lot of talent this year and no one had a total collapse like forgetting the words a la Brooke and Jason (fans of both). I just have big issues with how so many people were totally disregarded in favor of Adam, who definately was the most consistent, but there was lots to like about Danny, Kris, Anoop, Matt and Allison. And I really didn't like how Simon was on Lil constantly. I got what he meant, sometimes, but I think he was on her every week and she never knew what he wanted. I've said it before, but I may be done with this show. Of course I said I wasn't going to watch season 7 either. Thank goodness I did! Jessica |

I hear ya! After Michael Johns got voted off last year I said I was never going to watch the show again. Glad I did, because then I became a real Cook fan! But seriously, after last night, I was really surprised Simon didn't call Adam "shouty" because he was. He hurts my ears and with all that dramatic blue lighting...c'mon. He's just not 'real'. Maybe an Idol doesn't need to be, to be famous and sell records, but I personally like that our Cookie has so many deep and altruistic traits to his character.

I agree with you guys. All the judges have just been sipping the Adam Kool-Aid all season and it's sickening. The only way he can hit those high notes it to scream them, and yet they've never called him for shouting (like someone said, a favorite comment of Simon's)
Nothing can beat David Cook and Season 7. For me, David is the ultimate American Idol and always will be. But hopefully all the over-pimping of Adam will backfire. I got really ticked off when Katy Perry came on with her Adam Lambert cape. Come on, that kind of crap shouldn't be permitted. If you want to go on a talk show and talk about your favorites for American Idol, then whatever, but if you're a GUEST on the show, then you just shouldn't be allowed to endorse them RIGHT THERE. It's not fair at all and I can't believe they let that fly. I hate how Randy is always like, 'This is a singing competition and you can sing!' And yet they're all crazy about the guy who can't sing as amazingly as everyone thinks. His range is nowhere near as great as everybody thinks, especially since the only way that he extends his 'range' is to shout. Ugh. I'm just sick of him. But! I am ecstatic that Kris is through. Everybody vote for Kris, you guys, and let's stick it to all the judges. |

Totally agree with comments about David Cook. He is in a class by himself, for his voice, humility and his character. No one this season came off as well as David did/does. But remember Paula did say more than once "I am looking at the American Idol" So comments about the judges favoring Adam are a little unfair. Like David, I picked Adam and Danny at their auditions. They clearly stood out over the other contestants. I don't even remember Kris's audition.
He is a good singer, but I would definitely buy an Adam or Danny CD way before Kris's. Not memorable like Cook, Daughtry or Carrie Underwood. Adam deserves to win, but I will keep an open mind and pay attention to performances by both finalists. Then make my voting decision. You never know what can happen. Hopefully both will vary the types of songs they will perform. |

David is the ultimate American Idol. For me, the top 3 Idols are Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and David Cook. They're the ones who show relevancy and really excel (though Jordin Sparks is fourth on that one). I won't deny that Paula made those comments last year with David, but it was much easier to just take hearing it from her because it was Paula and that's how she is. But for the others to basically be saying the same thing, though not in those exact words, isn't fair. I just feel like it's a competition for the others to win second place and, unless Simon's mastermind plan fails, Kris won second place.
Kind of varied off the topic of Simon... well... he's Simon... the end. |

Well I may be unpopular around here, but I absolutely love Adam. I think he deserves his praise. Its fine if its not your style, but I dont get the hating on Adam. He's humble and seems like a great guy. He's entertaining and I think he's gonna be a huge star. Im not going to compare him and david because they're too different. What I know at this point is both Adam and Kris deserve to win, but I will be voting all four hours for Adam. For me he has the "it" factor and theres just something special about him. I still love David, but I feel like its definitely fine to like David, Kris AND Adam because they all are amazingly talented, just in different ways.
