If you had one special request about the album, what would it be?
It can be anything, from the type of music, to 2 CDs (as suggested on DCO), loads of videos, anything..

For me it would be to have Dave's voice do the work, loads of acoustic Dave, and not too overpowering backing music.

I have been wondering how much of David is in this single.
He did not write it, produce it, chose it as a single (he said that the choice of single was left to TPTB). Did he chose it for the album, is he happy to have a song that he didn't write for his first single? I recall that he said at the end of the rumor that he was looking forward to finally sing his own songs.
It is a marketing move he may completely subscribe to, or he has been convinced to agree with, I couldn't say. In any case, I really hope that he is happy with everything.
If he is happy, then great. If not, then he needs his fans behind him, and by that I don't mean repeating rosy rosy mantras and avoiding reality, I mean supporting him through thick and thin.

Now that the single release is near (I presume), it occurred to me that it won't probably be released in the UK, where I live, for a while. I have pre-ordered the album with Amazon US but it is going to take a while to arrive, and the single will be only digital, so we won't be able to purchase it from the UK.
This thought = panic, panic, panic, I must find a way round it ohmy.gif

According to something I read a while ago, it is possible to buy on Itunes with a gift voucher paid with a US address, and to exchange money with Paypal.

If any of you US resident with a Paypal account were willing to help, I would be a very very happy Cookie fan.

Considering the rumors and speculation about the album, I thought that it could be useful to put together all the reliable info that we have so far.
Here's a start:

from the Daily Live, July 10, 2008
Q:I understand you're working on a new album and you had the chance to work with Collective Soul's Ed Roland. How was it?

A:Aww, man, I am a big fan. Obviously, I did "The World I Know" on the show. He always seems to write just really solid, hooky music. I got more nervous about meeting guys like him than I did anybody else through the show and stuff. The bands I get into, you always worry about, "Are they going to be nice?" Ed was so cool. We're talking about going golfing when we swing through Atlanta on the tour. He's a stand-up guy. I was really, really happy with the way everything turned out. Yeah, cool guy.

Q:Who else have you worked with on the album?

A: I've written with a few people. I got a chance to write with Raine Maida [lead singer] of Our Lady Peace. That was just crazy. He was so nice. I got to write with Zac Maloy of The Nixons, which was cool. Let's see, who else? I got to write with Jason Wade of Lifehouse. I guess I’m lucky. Everyone I've written with has been so nice and really cool. It's been very fruitful. I'm really excited about where the record's headed.

Ryan Tedder Denies Collaborations with David Cook and David Archuleta

Those rumors of collaborations between OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and David Cook and David Archuleta? Not gonna happen. Tedder recently told ABC News Radio that the rumors are running rampant, but they’re just not true:

“No, there are all these rumors swirling about me, and, us and American Idols. And it even says on Wikipedia that I’m working with David Cook and Archuleta. I have not worked with either of them, and I don’t have either of them on the schedule.â€

From the Detroit Free Press July 23, 08
Q: Do you have time to work on your upcoming CD while you're on the road?

A: Yeah, actually, I got into St. Louis late last night. I was in LA for a couple of days working on the record. What I like about it is, to me, it's not really carrying the vibe of a generic melodic rock record. I think there's some twists and turns on it. Lyrically, I feel like I've had something to say for a while. To be able to put pen to paper and actually get it out of my system is pretty therapeutic.

Q: Does it have a title yet, to give us an idea of what to expect?

A: Not yet. I definitely want there to be an attitude to it. ... I don't want to come out singing standards or anything. That's just not my vibe.

Q: What happens when the tour is over?

A: We get into finishing the record the rest of September and maybe a little bit of October. Then a lot of press and promotion until Christmas. We're going to try to get the record out mid-November. Then we start doing shows in the new year.

According to Andy Skib, the guitarist for MWK, Neal Tiemann, who has also written a song listed for David by ASCAP, 'Not Me', was working with David at the time of the interview.

I particularly like this about the album:
Q: Does it [the album] have a title yet, to give us an idea of what to expect?

A: Not yet. I definitely want there to be an attitude to it. ... I don't want to come out singing standards or anything. That's just not my vibe.
