"American Idol" winner David Cook is continuing to enjoy the perks his big win brings -- he threw out the first pitch today at a New York Mets game.

"I'm a huge sports fan, a big baseball fan and so to be able to do anything like this is always really cool," Cook, who was sporting a beard, said of the experience.

David Cook was invited to Shea Stadium by Mets third baseman David Wright, who founded the David Wright Foundation. Cook said, "David [Wright] actually reached out to me towards the end of the ["American Idol"] season, really wanted to try to help out to get my older brother out to the finale and stuff, really reached out and he was cool, and then reached out very recently to invite me out today."

Cook's older brother has been battling a brain tumor.

So I feel like just chucking my Idol Performances DVD

Seriously, what a waste of time burning that DVD was! I will NEVER watch my Idol performances again with footage like this around. I am totally lying. I will watch them for sentimental reasons - but not if I want to see David at his best. It's like a total metamorphosis. This season of Idol was practically not a competition after week 7 or so, but if he brought this David to the Idol stage... The whole show would have been a ridiculous farce. I think he must have had mercy on them.

Hi everyone! *waves*
I've been registered here for a while and always knew D-C.org to be a tremendous resource for all things DC. I was also a dedicated AI Board poster. Only the DC board, of course. I would keep the board up to date by finding everything everywhere else and letting them know about it. Plus posting pictures from all over. I was at the AI board because I loved the speed of it, it was almost like chatting.

Also DC was definitely reading over there or Andrew was telling him everything as he would sometimes just naturally repeat phrases we just recently used. Which was odd. Then we tested him with "plethora", and yup he said it. It might have been my idea to lure him into that with a Raine Maida post so I still feel bad about that sometimes... However, I did put "plethora" back in the "Thanks, David" video and it wasn't easy for me - I am no actor like he is! One thing I've noticed with him is that he loves to make other people squirm. So I did, and I hope he's happy. That trait of his makes me glad that I am just a fan, and not playing Truth or Dare with him.

I have been truly amazed at what a doll he is, doing everything the AI board would ask him to do, even if it seemed like too much. I don't know how many times I've said, "I can't believe he did that!" and end up walking around either dazed in shock or laughing myself silly over how crazy he is .

Anywho, the wordnerds of the AI board opened up a new website that we were ALL supposed to migrate to. I was there for a while, but I kept running into the Mods no matter what I did. So there I am bringing all this value to the site through lyrics and photos and lists and links etc, and I would find them changing my posts & titles, locking threads, directing everyone's conversations. I am NOT bashing them, these are all actual facts, and examples are available on request. I wrote back and forth to the mods and it turned out they wanted the site to be PG-13, clean enough for David's whole family to come visiting regularly and for the very young teenagers to be kept pure.

Well, I am the fan of a real Rock Star. Not a Disney star. So that just wasn't going to fly with me. And they said they were not going to budge on their guidelines either. Then I poked around Bitten's site, cause I love her writing and their site has no rules. But I really despise being called a cougar just because I am in my 30's. I have been on other message boards where we called ourselves MILF's. So "cougar" just sounds all wrong to me. Plus their site wasn't very active either. So, I went back to the AI board for a while, but now it seems that the AI board has slowed down quite a lot.

So, DC is busy between the sheets and also just plain busy. He was supposed to migrate over the the "New Wordnerds Home" too. They were in touch with him about it. But then they set up their site to require registration to even read the boards. I am sure they gave him an ID, but seriously, WTF? You've just got to allow lurkers! I am sure he will eventually get to where ever will be good for him. He's supposed to have his own site for us to post on soon. But could we discuss everything over there? Who knows.

Then I came back over here to find you guys have really picked up speed and have all these awesome threads running. Just about everything I want to post and read about is here. Like David's Ass. And Axium. Plus you're still all on top of everything as usual. I am totally stoked. I would like to get cozy here, if you guys will have me....

About me: I am 38, live in NYC, have one 5 yr old girl, and a husband I could do without. Aw, he's alright I guess I live on the water of the Long Island Sound. It's actually pretty here. I spent a dozen years in I.T. before my little one and I am getting back up in that world, I decided. I used to work on Wall Street, but I'll probably do something slightly less corporate this time around.

I can not believe you read all this! Wow. Well, thanks for that and drop me a message if you have any Q's or collaboration ideas. I am thrilled to be here and LOVE you guys!
