Come on! Vote! Every vote counts and makes a difference! You can only vote for TCA once per day, but VH1 votes are unlimited. So vote as much as possible, because during the past week he dropped nearly 30% because of Daughtry! David needs your help. smile.gif

David lost both of his nominations at the Teen Choice Awards. That sucks! I was hoping he would get at least one!
He lost to the other David ohmy.gif lol, who isn't a bad singer but Pop. I noticed Pop singers mostly win awards like these....
Carrie Underwood lost hers too! To Taylor Swift! NOW THAT'S BAD!

I officially hate TCA....unless one of them win next year, LOL!

What are your thoughts!?

Well, it IS the TEEN choice awards, so there's probably more TEENS voting. David appeals to an older audience. And Archie appeals to... teen girls, and it's mostly teenage girls voting. And same with Taylor Swift.

Can't win 'em all. And anyway, like Olivia said, it is the TEEN Choice Awards, and David appeals more to an older audience, so I think the voters, who are mostly young girls, are more inclined to vote for a more poppish singer like Archie. Nevermind, there's always next year.

i voted for him as often as i could but i agree with Olivia, too. it's more the younger teens who like the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus who really vote. we all know David will win all the Grammys he'll be nominated for, which is way more important.

I also think that, besides the fact that David's audience is largely older than teenage years, those of us who are teenagers and David fans (like myself, and a lot of others) are not the type of girls that are going to go vote for the TCA. You know? I mean, I did vote for him when I thought of it, but I wasn't voting every day, and I wish he had won at least one but at least it was ONLY a Teen Choice award. There are better awards... I mean, almost all of the movie/acting awards went to Twilight and its cast... so... all of these teens voting do not have the best taste... tongue.gif (no offense to anyone who likes Twilight)

Plus, they shouldn't really call it 'Teen' Choice Awards, it's more like 'Tween' Choice Awards... *shrug*

Isn't this award show geared to the 11-17 year olds. DC's has been targeting the college drowd

Ha. Too right. And I totally agree with what you said about the people who voted for Twilight having zero taste. I can't stand the books/films, and all of the unnecessary hype surrounding them.

You are so right on so many levels... Like ok I'm a teen - I'm a dave fan - but I'm not the type of fan who's going to vote for the TCA's 1st because I could care less for it and 2 seeing that a large majority of davids fans are 25-30+ , they aren't going to vote for a TEEN show so why should I waste my time voting 4 someone who is going to loose? Gosh but I am extremely bummed that he won't be getting one because I'd like him to know his younger fans love him just as much and want him to be happy.. But yeah I guess there's a next year... AND I WANT DAVID TO KNOW HE DESERVES A TCA AND THAT HIS T-E-E-N FANS SAY SO TOO!! <333

..hmmmmmmm...
..well my thoughts are this:

..my *first* reaction, is oh CRAPPP, because I really wanted to SEE him-- the more chances we have to SEE him, the better- so, in that regard, it is a disappointment.. sad.gif
..the only other way it is a disappointment to me, is the possible fact that maybe, *possibly*, it was a disappointment to HIM..? ..I mean.. well you know how all of us here *hate* to see anything bad said about him, *hate* to see him hurt, *hate* to see him not get all the accolades he so deserves.. and YES, this is just a teen show.. but it is STILL something he was nominated for-- and over the years, PLENTY of NON-teens have won in the various categories, so that kind of shoots the 'only teens vote and only they are interested' argument out of the water.. sad.gif
..sooo.. it would just bother me thinking that HE might have been disappointed or let down or hurt in any way, that he did not win even one of the awards.. sad.gif

..aside from not having this additional chance to see him, that would be the only reason this all bothers me.. sad.gif

..thoughts..?

I dunno. Though I agree with you on the level that we want David to get all the awards he deserves, etc, David has never struck me as the type of person who would be terribly affected either way by an award like this. I'm not saying it's not an important award, or that he wouldn't feel good to receive it, but he's not going to be devastated, you know? He's not going to cry himself to sleep at night thinking that he's become irrelevant because he didn't win a TCA. Now, Miley Cyrus might have that reaction, but David? Nah. That being said, I do hope that he isn't disappointed by not winning this award, because I'd hate for him to feel bad about that.

And we all know that David knows he has plenty of teen fans, who he gets to see at every show. smile.gif And he'd probably rather have us come to his concerts than spend hours and hours voting to try and win him a surfboard. *shrug* I think the teen presence at his concerts is our way (Dave's teenage fans) or giving him a TCA. We're are awarding him by choosing to attend his amazing concert. Lol. Okay, I'm going to stop talking now, my analogies are getting strange...

Ok now I agree about the teens at concerts BUT once again the majority of the women at concerts are past their teenage days... So idk mabye dave will be dissapointed that he dosent have as many teens as older woman?? Idk .. I just want David to know that his younger fans love him to death as well as his older fans .. No teen choice award needs to show that smile.gif

I'm kind of sad that he didn't win. I'm watching the awards right now. The only reason I turned it on in the first place was because I wanted to see David. Oh well. He better win a grammy!

First of all-Thanks for posting so I don't have to watcH!!! I just wanted to see him anytime, also! I too like to see David win everything he can and would hate to see him disappointed -he's so wonderful and in a different league anyway-but his fans love him (twilight - not at all). He's has many GRAMMy's in his future to cushion the blow-I predict! David is simply the KING!

I agree beyond belief. You have no idea....this show is geared towards the preteen, younger teenage girls. I love Dave, but I didn't vote religiously every single day like I know the little Twilight girls did. Yes, I have read the series, and yes I have seen the film, but I'm more of a Harry Potter chick myself....it annoys me to no end that when anything Twilight is nominated, it wins. They're nominated for EVERYTHING. There are better awards out there to win, sure if he could grab a few of these...GREAT! but it's not going to be make the world stop.

Dang it! I voted for him. I was really upset when he lost. Archie won instead, not that I don't like Archie, I love him, but I was really hoping Cookie would win!

I'm kinda bummed, I watched to see if David won, but I knew he wasn't going to be there so that most likely meant he wasn't going to win. I hate Twilight with a passion, Harry Potter Rules!, lol, excuse me, anyway. I only voted once, I barely remembered to vote on VH1 a few times, I guess it's my fault he fell off cause I haven't been voting for it since the beginning. OT again. You have to be 11-17 to vote for this thing (but anybody can fake, you can say you're 21 on websites when your 16), so I don't think he had a chance. Plus how could he really win anything with the Jo Bros grabbing everything up. Hopefully this won't upset David, now when it's Grammy time, then it's a big deal. I doubt it will bother him since he's not aiming towards tweens with his music, but I still think he should win everything he's nominated for no matter what it is. I'll live though.

I have to agree with you 150%! I remember I decided to watch the TCA's last year...cause I never had in interest in them but I figured "hey why not?" well most of it was miley cryus/jonas brothers ...and even though it wasn't the jonas bros hosting they won everything and kept getting all these segments (It was like DISNEY CHANNEL was taking over my tv!)
...so it doesn't surprise me they hosted this year and Twilight won a lot of awards. (why? I still don't know)
it should definitely be the Tween choice awards cause the last time I checked none of my friends listened to miley cryus and enjoyed it!
anyways, David has more important awards to win. like a grammy! that would be awesome =]
