I recently read a quote by David, talking about a U2 song, and he said he wished he could write songs that honest. And the first thing that came to mind was how that's one of the things I love about so many of his songs, the sheer honesty and emotion that you can feel coming through them. So I think he's already achieved the feat and maybe just isn't aware of it.

i love the fact that he got to write with some of his biggest musical inspirations on his album but i hope for his next one he writes most of the lyrics by himself and with Neal. i think those two write incredible lyrics that are more creative.
