I took plenty of videos of To Have Heroes performances this summer (Andy Skib and Neal Tiemann).
I've never taken video before and I just used a Sony digital camera, which resulted in large mpg format files (200-350 mb each). I got them uploaded to YouTube okay. http://www.youtube.com/user/WoodyJo7

But now I want to burn some of these performances to a DVD for Ellen Degeneres, to include as part of our ELLEN PROJECT. I know how to just copy the files so that they can be viewed on another PC. But is there a way to covert or copy them so that they are easier to watch ... like maybe even watchable on a DVD player connected to a TV?

I have a HP PC that's one year old, running Vista. I haven't purchased any special software.

I hope someone has done something similar and has advice for me.
Thanks.

Just wanted to share the good new with those of you who've come to know and love the music of David's MWK band mate, Andy Skib, (known from the Glozell interview and www.myspace.com/tohaveheroes) . . .

Today iTunes started selling Andy's EP. And it's iTunes Plus, their better quality, unprotected format. Search for it as To Have Heroes.

If you haven't listened yet, please give it a try on his myspace page To Have Heroes
This is primarily acoustic, softer than most MWK, and every song is good. Good enough that we've formed a Word Nerd subgroup of DavAndy fans, known as Word Heroes.

To Have Heroes helps fill the craving for new music until David's new release.

My son Andrew is the same age as David. I noticed that when the Top 10 sang Songs from Year of Birth. That was my initial attraction to David (and why I still struggle not to think of him as sexy). All David's childhood photos (Halloween, basketball, young guitar) just look SO FAMILIAR.

Andrew has played guitar since 12. He was never in a band, but he always played covers in talent shows and misc events during HS and UCLA. He just started writing again last year and plays (acoustic) about once a month in small clubs in LA and Hollywood for those audiences of 10-25, like David used to play to in 2006. I've asked him to learn The Truth because it sounds perfect for him!

Andrew hasn't been able to focus on his music, because of studying at UCLA and always doing philanthropic projects. Check out this cool ongoing project of his (to party with a purpose!): http://www.philanthroproductions.org . He's a talented handsome friendly guy who makes me very proud.

(He's always looking for new people to play with, so I fantasize about him connecting with Andy or David.)

Anyway, he would appreciate it if anyone in LA came to see him play.

I never seriously considered going to one of the tour concerts.

I never paid much attention to American Idol in previous years, so I was barely aware there was a tour. When David said he was looking forward to it, I just thought that was what he had to say. And I'm not interested in seeing Ramiele or Kristy Lee or Syesha or Chikezie.

But I'd absolutely LOVE to see David and Jason (and I'd like to see Brooke, Carly, Michael, and maybe even Archie), but my closest venue is the Staples Center in Los Angeles (which is a huge impersonal place, at least 170 miles/3+ hours away) and I don't know anyone else who'd want to go see them.

But now I'm catching the fever.
I watched Jason's videos and read his blog -- wow, he's so excited!
And reading of Lindz's anticipation and excitement and now stalking (in a good way!) -- I'm getting excited too.

I even woke up this morning thinking about Tucson and the tour and how they were feeling as they rehearsed.

Is there anyone else not participating, but starting to wish you were?

When I watched David's performance before the WalMart shareholders, I saw an acoustic guitar that I hadn't noticed before. It looked beautiful and the sound was really nice.

I wondered if David has purchased any new guitars since his Idol success?
(My son is a musician who plays to those crowds of 10-25, and I'm sure he'd splurge on a new guitar if he had musical success)

We've all noticed the white AC electric guitar ...
What do we know about his other guitars?
