Hey you guys! I just saw a commercial on VH1 for that semi-"off" talk show called "Free Radio" -

(I've only seen bits and pieces of it in the past, and the male anchor( I believe his name is Lance) for the show is just.......wierd.....but that's beside the point blink.gif )

Anyways, he was only on the commercial for a brief 10 seconds or so, just to show a clip of him smiling/laughing, and then the male radio anchor asking him....something rude, like "Do you have/like any girls that you want to "plow"..?", and then David replies while sipping from a cup, "...this is really uncomfortable"

All I know is that it starts April 2nd, I believe. I just hope the anchor doesn't get totally rude, because that kind of upset me when I saw David's reaction unsure.gif , but I'm sure he'll be fine, only because that show is "off" anyways, so he had to know prior to going on that it wasn't going to be a 'normal' interview rolleyes.gif

...Hopefully it turns out just fine.....what are your thoughts?

So...
Last week, my Bass teacher, Dave (who's amazing ♥) is teaching me how to learn songs by ear, then write them down, and then play them through the notes I think they are. So, I tried my darndest to teach myself "Light On" as my first song. I sat down, and literally for an hour, I played it over, and over, and over, trying to pick up the Bass line. (which was no easy task.....)lol

Then, I went into my Bass lesson this week, sat down with DAve, and gave him the chart that I had written out as the notes to the song. He asked me:
"What song are you doing?"
And i replied, "Oh, "light on" by David Cook"
And he said back,
"Oh, yeah, I remember seeing him on SNL"

:]

So, he puts the CD in, and plays along to the chart i had written. I was only a few chords off the entire song! (and most of that was due to Neal's solo, and not being able to tell the difference between the Bass and the Guitar...lol) Dave was really suprised, and said, "that's amazing", and was proud of me. Heck, I was proud of myself! :] Then, after the lesson was done, as I'm walking out, he's humming "Light On" (which he just chuckles everytime i would even mention anything about David before this lesson), and I was like, "Ha! I got you to like David!", and he just smiled back :] and then asked me, "Is the CD good?"
And I smirked back, saying, "It's amazing"!

So....double whammy for one day!

Now, my friend Chen in China first found out I learned the Bass for "Light On", and he was like, "You should so put that on Youtube!! Especially with all of the acoustic versions that are on there, it would be cool to see a girl do LO to the Bass!"

So......now i'm going to 'have' to put up a video.....yay....lol
It'll probably take me a day or two to work my camera *i'm hoinestly not even sure how to post my own video on Youtube...at all)
but when I do......it'll be posted here first!! :]

Much love,
Ashley

Enjoy!!!:

(^^ My little sister, Mariah, and I, in line to see David) :]

Holy mother of molly's,where the heck do I begin??

The American Music Awards at the Nokia theatre.I never though in a million centuries I would be THAT close and personal to so many performers….and up close-to the point where I talked personally to David Cook (GAH!) Chris Daughtry himself (I know, another GAH!!), Jordin Sparks, David Archuleta, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, and WAY too many others that I'm going to instantly remember as this blog continues :]

So....lets start at the beginning :]

***************************************************

I had won tickets a week ago off of davidcookofficial.com to attend the American Music Awards to watch David perform live. Now, this was my instant freak-out/panic mode, because I honestly thought I had next to no chance on winning an invite to the AMA's, only because of the over-abundant fans on that one site (last time I counted...over 15,000???)

I know, crazy, right? 0.0

So, I get an email from one of the coordinators of the AMA's saying, that "I won" and that I would be attending the live show for David Cook, and the pre-show red carpet. I was ecstatic, overjoyed , and completely thrilled!

I signed my whole family to go with me as guests, but unfortunately, my mom was sick, and my brother (although regretting his decision later), decided not to go, only because he honestly can't take any more of David.or let alone "David" or "Cook" in the same sentence, context, or meaning....lol ;]. . So my dad missed the Jet game (his main team, which won, so it didn't matter) just to take us.

We arrive about an hour early to the parking garage where "David Cook fans" (our registered name/term in order to get in) where we were told to meet. I was actually thrilled to see we were some of the few people there. I was thinking, "yes, closer to Cook!" My sister and I chatted with these two older women, Sandy and Sherri . They were both absolute sweethearts, and Sandy was talking about how she never seen David in concert, while Sherri had seen him 3 times on the Idol tour.

I had seen him once, too, at the Staples Center.oh, the horror stories about the "nosebleed" section (and my fear of heights).not fun, but I kept my cool , ONLY for David!lol

(^^^^^^^^let's just say that stint I just wrote was the polar opposite of where I got to watch Cook perform this time around) smile.gif

************************************

So, we then load into the shuttle bus, and get bracelets that say "AMA's-All access", and we arrive as were watching the technicians roll out the red carpet, and making everything look perfect. Then, we wre walked to the stage Cook would be performing on.

We are greeted to a huge billboard saying "David Cook" with all of the band equipment set up. Mariah and I, being the first to arrive..got dead in front of the stage! We couldn't even fathom on being that close, especially from where we were standing. Literally, 3 feet, and I could've touched David! (but I would've been kicked out...lets do the lesser of two evilslol) wink.gif

(^^Mariah and I in front of the stage) :]

From, where Mariah and I were standing, we were dead underneath where Andy (rhythm guitar/keyboards) was set, which was completely awesome. And he\'s a really sweet guy, as when he was the first to set up on stage, I look up at him smiling, and waiving "hi Andy!\", and he just smiled and waived back contently. Then, one by one, the band started coming up as well: Neil (Guitar), Joey (bass), Kyle (drums) (whom I made laugh…I'm so proud of myself =] ) and finally.David (whom i made laugh as well...although I can't remember the reason why)! It took me about 20 seconds to finally grasp the fact that "holy crap, they're all so close!" (surely beats nosebleed seats!) and must I say, the band David Cook, as a whole, are phenomenal. They play amazingly off each other, and work really well as a team :]

oh, and..did I mention Cook...winked at me???? Nope, I didn't! (but now I did!lol) happy.gif

It was during Cook's performance of Light On (I was smiling brightly and pumping my "rock on" hand in the air, and was...ok, I was really getting into the song...lol. Then, Cook looks over at me for 2 seconds, smiles that priceless crooked smile, and...winks at me!

I literally stopped taking pics for 2 minutes...hehe. And it wasn't like I imagined him winking at me, because even for those couple of seconds I started to even think that thought, Mariah was like, "he just winked at you!" and the girl standing next to me going, "what the heck did you do to get him to wink at you?"

..I guess just being me..lol rolleyes.gif

Then, after both performances were up, we were told to clear the area, because the pre-show was about to begin. Cook could only sign a few Autographs (unfortunately, Mariah and I couldn't get one) :[ , but instead I got tossed Cook's guitar pick (woot!) and Mariah got tossed Andy's guitar pick by Andy himself smile.gif (double woot!)

***************************

We all got "seated" (ok..."seated" being the key word of "not" sitting at all!) and awaited as the musicians arrived. As I was walking up, I see Corbin Bleu taking pics from photogs, and me, being slightly off, I yell out "hey, its Corbin Bleu!". Then, he looks at me, like, "yes?" and I was, "oh, hi!" and he smiled and waived back.

At first, I didn't even think that worked..butapparently it does!

So, here Mariah, and I areon the top row of the bleachers to watch the red carpet stars arrive. We watch Carrie Ann Inaba, Gym Class Heroes, the Fray, and many others just pass us as we wave "hi" to them.

Then.. the blood-curtiling screams, but for who??? Well, of course the Jonas Brothers ! (<- yep..sarcasm)lol. And then I noticed everyone leaving their seats to go to the front of the bleachers to reach down and give handshakes/get autographs from them. Now, the guards were strict on everyone staying in their seats, but they weren't saying anything (probably b/c they knew they would've probably been literally slaughtered by the mob of girls swarming just to touch Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas XD) I decided, "hey if their down there on the bleachers with no complaints, then I'm going." so Mariah and I trekked down to the edge to greet and get handshakes from the stars :]

We shook Billy Ray Cyrus's hand, and as I seen Miley walking by (..she's to preppy for me, I just hate her sarcastic attitude), I say, "Miley, your boyfriends hot!" (just for fun...and kind of to piss her off..lol) and then after a minute, she repies in a sarcastic tone "I know".I was like, 'ok, Ms. Thang'! rolleyes.gif

Then, we see Daughtry, and ..instant freak-out! (I absolutely love them). As they start passing us, I scream "Chris Daughtry!!!!!!" and he turns around all wide-eyed like, 'who just screamed my name?', I waved at him smiling, and he waved smiling back. I told him how much I absolutely love his music and what a wonderful guy and performer he was, and he put his hands together and nodded his head, saying "thank you so much, and God bless you"

Then comes Jordin Sparks, and must I say how beautiful she is (I told her that, and she was so appreciative, and she smiled the biggest smile I think I've ever seen on a person happy.gif )! My sister and I shook her hand, and my sister was like, "can I have your autograph?" Jordin was like, "of course!" Mariah was instantly lifted with her spirits again, especially after the upset of not being able to give David Cook the gift she made for him.

Then comes David Archuleta. This kid honestly can't get any cuter <3 Beautiful smile and personality. He walks over and shakes hands with us. Now, by this time, we have been yelled at by security because we went over the railing to get an autograph. So, when Archie came by, Mariah REALLY wanted an autograph from him as well. So, I told her "go for it!" and thought 'screw security' lol. We walked to the edge, and Mariah said, "can I have your autograph, please?" Archie looks up with this big smile and says, "oh,I don't know if I can" (after security telling him, NO, plain and simple). then Archie looks up at me with these big, beautiful blue eyes and a smile, and I say, "please do it for her", smiling back. Security, again, tells him "no", then, looks back at us, and says, "oh, ok, only one." Mariah was too thrilled, and we both smiled back saying, "THANK YOU!" he smiled back, saying "your welcome!" as his dad, Jeff Archuleta, smiled at him for doing us that favor and going against security.lol

Then we see David Cook walking down, with HUGE cheers coming down the red carpet.it was like Jonas-pandemonium all over again!. Mariah and I were forced to move away from the railing by security...so, that was good.lol. Still, we screamed "Cook!" and waived, and he looked back at us and waived back with a huge smile :]. We also seen Rascal Flatts, and they waived back at us, along with Briget Nielson, Queen Latifa, Nickleback, and Taylor Swift doing the same thing :]

As the red carpet closed, we started gathering our things to leave. But then, one security member says, "ok, the sooner we get out of here, the sooner YOU get in"

I was like "get in..to what?"

Then I realized she was talking about the Actual AMA's, where tickets on a cheap end were $95 a piece, and up to $300 for seats alone, excluding red carpet/after party events. I was in shock, only because we were told we most probably weren't going to get into the show.

Now, there we were, walking in to the actual AMA\'s. We watched everything from Leona Lewis, to Pink, to even..ugh..the Jo bro's

Then, as the AMA's finally ended, before we knew it, we were on our way back home.

So..the synopsis...an amazing memory that will never be forgotten as long as Mariah and I live. From, the wink, to the guitar picks, to the "security-amplified" autographs (lol), to the show.honestly, it was one of the best times of my life.
