OMG.
Okay, I'm not a certified "Word Nerd" on this site, but I just got here from davidcookofficial.com, and look what I found (this is copy-and-pasted): "NOVEMBER 26, 2008, 3:53 PM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DAVID COOK’S SELF-TITLED ALBUM DEBUTS AT #3 ON THE BILLBOARD ALBUM CHARTS DAVID COOK IS #1 ON THE DIGITAL ALBUM CHART WITH 58,713 UNITS- THE MOST EVER FOR A DEBUT ARTIST DAVID COOK IS THE BEST DEBUT FROM AN IDOL WINNER SINCE 2006 FIRST SINGLE “LIGHT ON” HAS BEEN #1 ON THE AOL TOP 40 SONGS CHART FOR 6 WEEKS AND IS #1 ON THE CLEARCHANNEL ON DEMAND CHART “LIGHT ON” IS THE #1 GAINER AT ADULT RADIO AND DEBUTED AS THE BREAKOUT TRACK ON THIS WEEK’S AMERICAN TOP 40 WITH RYAN SEACREST IDOL SINGLE “THE TIME OF MY LIFE” HAS BEEN CERTIFIED PLATINUM WITH OVER 1 MILLION TRACKS SOLD (New York – NY) – David Cook enters the Billboard charts at #3 with his self-titled debut album (19 Recordings / RCA Records) selling 279,578 units. The Rob Cavallo produced album is also the #1 album on the digital album chart and is the best debut from an American Idol winner since 2006. “Light On”, the first single from the album, has been dominating the AOL Top 40 Songs chart at #1 for the past 6 weeks and is currently #1 on the ClearChannel On Demand Chart. It was also the #1 gainer at adult radio and debuted as the breakout track on this week’s American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest. In late September “Light On” premiered on AOL Music’s pop culture news site, PopEater.com, receiving over 1 million plays in less than week. The ClearChannel premiere of the Wayne Isham directed “Light On” video became their best performing video premiere ahead of Linkin’ Park, The Eagles and Ne-Yo. American Idol single “The Time Of My Life” (which is featured as a bonus track on David Cook) has reached platinum status with over 1 million tracks sold." ________________________________________________________________________________ I am sobbing like a baby right now. I mean, I may be only 12, but I can feel proud for a 25-year-old singer, can't I? I can barely type right now...... Way to go, David! You have won our hearts all over again.

Dear David Cook,
Hi. I've never written to a celebrity as cool as you are before, so i don't really know what to say. I guess i'll start off be saying that you are the most talented contestant in American Idol history, and probably one of the biggest sucess stories as well. You've got the talent to perform, to sing, and to capture the hearts of Americans everywhere, whether they like you or not. You make my heart pound every time i hear you sing - i can't listen to you in complete silence, because you're too good and you give me goosebumps. Your voice is......unbelieveable! And i must admit your looks aren't that shabby either. I couldn't stand rock music before i heard you sing, and now all i want to listen to is electric guitars and screeching singers. I have most of your songs - i even managed to download your entire Analog Heart album - and i just love it. i still have to get my hands on your Axium songs, though, and that could be a challenge. I'm not like other girls on this site - i'm not gonna scream my head off and kiss your feet, although i will flip out if i ever meet you, which i sometimes dream of doing. But i want you to know that i won't cry of you pass me by or anything like that. I'm not that kind of girl. But i am addicted to your voice and watching you perform, which i've missed since the American Idol season ended. I won't be getting my weekly fix of Cookification anymore! My family and i really wanted to go to the Live tour, but the tickets for the Allstate Arena were sold out almost immidiatley. I was real disappointed, cause i heard on AI.com that you got your own "SICK, absolutely sick" brass band and wanted to hear it. It would suit your voice really well. When you won American Idol, i was so happy! I was so proud of you, and i knew you deserved it after all taht you had done on the show with the songs and coming up with arrangements, wich you were really good at, might i add. But when you started to cry, my eyes watered a little bit. I was - and still am - so dang happy taht you'd won and was disappointed that i didn't record you singing "Time Of My Life". But i got the studio version, which is good enough for me! Just a little word of advice: don't play it safe on your CD! You didn't win American Idol without taking a few risks, and don't let that change one bit, okay? It's your album - MAKE it yours!!! Well, i have to go now. I hope you somehow read this letter and i wish you nothing but the best luck with your music (and Kim Caldwell). Bye! Your freind, Jamie |
