I am launching a new t-shirt project to raise money for Adam Cook. The sale of the Cook t-shirts (that Amanda did the graphics work for, sold by www.cafepress.com) from the summer tour yielded an $870 donation for Adam. This was given to him around Thanksgiving. I was told that "the money couldn't have come at a better time" by the bank officer, who relayed this message from Adam's wife to me. I would like, with your help, to be able to raise more money for Adam to help him pay his medical bills, which I'm sure are always mounting higher and higher.

Sales of the "Adam Cook/Grey Matters" bracelets yielded about $2000. Because of fans' generosity in donating to the collective efforts of the finale fund, bracelets and t-shirts, nearly $27,000 was donated directly to Adam and his family last year. I'm very proud to have been a part of these efforts, and to be a part of such a generous fan community.

The concept of the design of this t-shirt was my idea. The graphic was drawn by a friend of David's. I originally wanted to use an actual photo of the guitar but I couldn't find one that was unobstructed that would print large enough on a t-shirt.

Check out a sample of what it would look something like. This is only a graphic representation.

On the 12th fret of the guitar is a gray cancer ribbon. At the top of the neck, "Gibson" has been replaced by "Grey Matters". You won't see it in this photo, but the graphic itself has been changed.

If you want to buy a shirt, here are the instructions, which are also now on the website at http://fanssupportadamcook.com.

Please (1) go to http://www.paypal.com, (2) click the "Send Money" tab and type in $29.99 per shirt, (3) use the email address cwood@nyc.rr.com, (4) in the Subject line type "AC Guitar Shirt", (5) put your size(s) for each shirt in the "Message" box. Please make sure you have entered your correct shipping address. This is very important. I am anticipating delivery will be within 3 weeks of the date of your order, perhaps sooner.

For all sizes, please click on the link below. Please choose one from the 100% cotton list ONLY, which is listed first. There are 4 choices for women's sizes. I'm pretty sure it would be okay to do all colors, but I think on white and other light colors it wouldn't come out well. I told the man they would be all black, but that was before I saw everything he had. I personally think the design would look best on black, red or navy t-shirts. The majority of orders have been black.

Go to: http://www.gsactivewear.com/

Select T-shirts from the menu on the left. Then click on Hanes. The first list is the 100% cotton list. Write down the Style name, number and your size so you can paste it into the Paypal request.

I like the last Ladies option in the list myself.

I will be offering these t-shirts for sale internationally at a later date, but for the present time, they will only be available for shipping in the U.S. I'm sorry. It shouldn't be too long before I can change this, but the pricing will be higher and will vary from country to country because of postage charges.

If you cannot use Paypal, I will also take money orders, but I would really urge people to use Paypal. It's just so much easier for everyone. Please send me a PM if sending a money order is your preference.

Around $10 from each shirt would go to Adam at this price. This is an estimated figure. The rest covers the cost of the shirts and postage plus insurance (in the U.S. only) and Paypal fees. I only need 25 shirt orders to start. People from the Word Nerds board and David Cook Official have already ordered some of the t-shirts, but we still need a few more orders to get the first round printed.

I hope to see everyone who loves David wear these AC shirts at shows this year. The name of the website (http://fanssupportadamcook.com) is what the lettering on the shirt is. I am hoping that if fans wear them on the tour, and other fans see them, they will see the name of the website and order them.

Thanks for everyone's support for Adam!

If anyone has or knows of a large, clear high resolution photo of David with his AC guitar where you can see the entire guitar and his hands are not on it, can you please either direct me to where I can find it, post it here or email it to me at justintime42000@yahoo.com? It's really hard to find a photo like this and I've been looking.

It's for a very good cause which I will explain later.

Thank you so much!

I am mailing out Adam Cook/Grey Matters bracelets tomorrow for everyone who lives in NY, NJ or PA who is also going to the David Wright event, and for everyone who isn't going to the DW event.

I sent out emails to everyone who lives in a different state who's going to the DW event and I've asked them to find me in person and given my cell number and my name at DCO (the same as it is here) so they can look at my photo and find me. I was afraid the mail could get hung up for anyone who lives very far from NYC. It's only 9 people who are affected.

For everyone I didn't email tonight who ordered a bracelet(s), please be checking your mail in the next few days.

Thanks again for supporting Adam Cook!

To the mods: I couldn't find the DW event topic and I thought this might not be seen by everyone in the pinned topic. Thanks again for your help.

The Emmys are going green this year, and so is the ET Emmy party sponsored by People magazine!

This year the stars received invitations created by YESDESIGNGROUP. YDG came up with the idea of producing a recyclable and reusable garment bag as the invite to the 12th annual ET party sponsored for the fifth year by People.

"This year we wanted to create an invite that was not only eco-friendly, but something that the invitees could use long after the event. Our continued collaboration with [ET] raises the bar for invite expectations," says Lori J. Posner, owner of YDG.

Once that decision was made, YDG turned to Jane Wyler of REUSENIKS, who is known for creating the Clothesnik, a reusable 100 percent cotton garment bag that replaces plastic dry-cleaning bags.

Jane created a special 42-inch garment bag of recycled cotton which was silkscreened so that the party invitation is directly on the bag, pictured above.

"Once again, ET is ahead of the curve with this one-of-a-kind invitation! It's even more special because it is eco-friendly and can be re-used," says Linda Bell Blue, Executive Producer of ET.

As earlier reported, rocker Billy Idol will perform for the A-list stars at the Emmy bash.. For a second year in a row the party will be held at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Tina Fey, Eva Longoria Parker, Chandra Wilson, Jimmy Kimmel, Jeremy Piven, Paula Abdul, David Archuletta, Mark Ballas, Tim Gunn , David Cook, Carrie Ann Inaba, Jamie Kennedy, Padma Lakshmi), William Petersen, Roselyn Sanchez, Brooke Shields, Christina Applegate, Jean Smart, Michael C. Hall, Oscar Nunez, Lee Pace and Jeff Probst are just a few of the stars that are confirmed to rock to Billy's tunes.

Keep checking back for more info on ET's post-Emmy festivities.

It looks like some bracelets may have gone missing in the mail. If you ordered before June 26th, keep checking your mail this week, and if you don't get yours by Friday, please email me at cwood@nyc.rr.com.

Unfortunately, I will have to start to charge more for the shipping price from here on and start sending the bracelets by insured mail. The bracelets will now be $9.00 and all new orders should include this amount. I sent an email to everyone who ordered after June 26th and anyone whose bracelets were lost, requesting they send an extra $2.50 per order (which covers the insurance fees and higher Paypal fees). The other option is to cancel your transaction altogether, and I will refund your $6.50. This way, if any bracelets are lost in the mail it's on the post office to pay to replace them.

International orders are uninsurable and I will not be able to replace them if they are lost. Please understand that you are taking this risk when you order. Since there is no insurance charge, the cost is the same as the U.S. cost and should cover postage anywhere in the world. If you still want insurance and a tracking number for your order, you will have to pay an extra Federal Express charge. Shipping by FedEx will cost more than the bracelet! Please email me with your location for information if this option interests you.

I was hoping to keep the postage costs low, but I can't afford to pay for lost bracelets myself. They are too expensive! It would be different if I were having them made for $2 apiece, but I send the full contribution amount that goes to Adam as well as the cost of the bracelet with each individual bracelet order and with the postage, it's almost $6.00.

I'm sorry to have to raise the price to include insurance, but I hope everyone understands the situation, and agrees to continue with their orders, with or without the insurance.

I know this sounds like a big pain in the butt, and believe me, it is for me too! But when you finally have your Adam Cook Grey Matters bracelet, you'll be happy! I hope so.

Cathy
