For Danny Gokey Fans

I just thought I'd share this for the Gokey fans on here. The press release just came out this afternoon. This info is from his church in Milwaukee. I'm very sorry for Danny's loss and I hope that it will propel him to really get back into this contest and raise the bar much higher.

I just received a phone call from Danny this morning.

He was on his way back to California from a few days back in Wisconsin. During his visit, he was able attend church at Faith Builders on Sunday.

It was unannounced, and I’m sure you can imagine how excited everyone was to get an opportunity to see him. He said this morning that it was just so good to be in service and see everyone and receive the Word of God. He’s refreshed and ready to go!

He was up with Pastor Jeffrey Pruitt before the service and as soon as praise and worship started, he wanted to get into the sanctuary right away because he just couldn’t wait to get into God’s presence.

Based on his very hectic schedule on “American Idol”, he is not able to go to church much out in California. They keep you pretty much on a tight schedule.

One thing I can tell you from a personal viewpoint: Danny is still the same guy he was a few months back. Obviously this guy’s life has changed in so many ways, but he is still the upbeat, fun, real Danny we know. He sincerely loves God and is just a “down to earth” guy! He keeps things in perspective and stays grounded by what got him there!

Danny said, “It was real tough to see Michael Sarver being eliminated last week, Michael is the real deal” and he is going to miss him tremendously.

He said that he is so glad that he’ll get to hang with him again in the summer concert tour. Danny and Michael are very close friends and even spent time together in prayer. They were also roommates on the show. As I’m sure you all are aware, Michael is a very strong family man and was looking forward to being at home with his wife and daughter.

I Talked To Andrew!

I was listening to Andrew's weekly radio show. He gave the number to call in so I thought what the hey...I'll try to call. I figured the lines would be busy. Well, the phone started ringing and then I thought I had the wrong number. It rang about 8 times and I was just about to hang up and someone answered but I wasn't sure if I had the right party. I asked whom I was speaking with and Andrew said this is "AC...Andrew Cook!" Well, he had Kelly on with him also. It was so easy to talk to him and he and Kelly were going on about football and other stuff. I just couldn't believe I was talking to him. We talked for about 2 minutes. A few minutes after we hung up they played part of my conversation live. Andrew said I have an accent...I'm from WI., and I have the damn nasally accent. Anyway, it was so much fun and I am so glad I called. I could see talking to him for hours, he is so easy to talk to and I'm sure there would be a few laughs in there, too.

I told him I was going to make homemade chocolate chip cookies and muffins to give to David when he performed here on 2/20 but we heard that security would just throw it out and not give it to him.so I didn't make them. When I told Andrew this he said "OhhhhI I love to eat and I would love to eat that! If you come to a show this way and bake something I will eat it." LOL

Well, just thoughth I'd share my Saturday afternoon adventure with another one of those Cook men!
