In-depth Review Of Tlm!

SPOILER ALERT!!!

I received my pre-order album fan pack TODAY!! I know, early, what the???? But I'm not complaining.... I had not listened to the streaming songs, as I wanted to hear the album with "virgin" ears. LOL Anyways, I am in LOVE! It is a lot softer than I thought, what with the title of "This LOUD Morning". Haha. But it is beautiful!!!!

Favorites right off the bat are:

(1) Circadian - It's reminiscent of a lullaby, with a gorgeous music box style intro. Cool way to start the album.

(2) Fade Into Me - Gahhhh....those lyrics! "We disappear into each other, colors appear and bleed into one. Fade into me, fade into you, two of us melting together until we become something new." This is the most romantic and heart-breakingly longing song I've heard of David's. Again, it has an orchestral, lullaby quality, with the lyrics "fade into me" repeated in a sweet, hypnotic way. I could easily just shut my eyes and drift into a dream-like trance with this one!

(3) Paper Heart - I knew I would like this one just from the title alone. More of David's quirky, profound lyrics. The album definitely swerves into deep heartbreak territory with this one.

All in all, I see the album as having an arcing love story, as follows:

Track 1) Circadian - The album starts out in the "present" with a retrospective look at a failed or failing relationship, with the "hero" unable to sleep in the wee hours of night.

Supporting lyrics: "Whose to say the time inside your head keeps running on and on and on and on...Who's to say we'll make it through? I'm starting to think that what we think is never true...I'm closing my eyes, 'cause once the sun rises it's out of my hands."

Track 2-4) Right Here, With You; We Believe; and Fade Into Me - In his sleepless state, our "Hero" flashes back to a deeply devoted, intimate and passionate love, which he believes will never end.

Supporting lyrics: "And I could never walk away with you here. Nothing's going to stop us now, 'cause we were born to live forever...The tides will always change, and the waves will always break and I will be here waiting all the time...Our love will never die." (RHWY) "Everyone, every single person under the sun, has a moment where they know they've won...We believe there's a reason that we're all here." (WB) "When I'm broken, you're the one thing I need. Like an ocean, I feel you crash over me."

Track 5) Hard to Believe - Moving on to facing differences and challenges in relationship.

Supporting lyrics: "Stay, tell me the story again, how it all fell apart in the end...when did you find that you can't hold on? When stars fall, and ground breaks, you're sinking...don't tell me that it's over, even though you're finding it hard to believe...Wait, I can see you slipping away, stay with me..."

Track 6) Take Me As I Am - Our "hero" is desperately trying to save the relationship/convince the girl to rethink a break-up.

Supporting lyrics: "This is my parade, my happy ever after, but only if you're here...We could take tonight, make it last forever, but only if you dare. We could run away, and take the world together, but only if you care."

Track 7) Time Marches On - Disbelief as time passes and the relationship is not resolved.

Supporting lyrics: "I never thought I'd see myself down here, in the same damn place with a different year...time marches on without you...If you knew then what you know right now, would you have packed your bags and left this town?"

Track 8) The Last Goodbye - Our hero finally is angry and acknowledges the relationship is over.

Supporting lyrics: "If you hear this on the radio, then we've already said our last goodbye. I won't be there when you get home...I wonder if he holds you like I did, I hope that he can love you better."

Track 9) Paper Heart - Heartbreak

Supporting lyrics: "What use is a paper heart, when you're stuck in the rain?...all the love that that I hold inside, feel it washing away, washing away, let it fall, 'cause I'm so tired of feeling everything, so damn me and my paper heart..."

Track 10) 4 Letter Word - Anger and bitterness

Supporting lyrics: "Hold your tongue...you know if we never say, we'll never crash and burn, 'cause love is a 4 letter word...It could all get ruined if it's said out loud."

Track 11) Goodbye to the Girl - The album culminates in resigned, yet bruised acceptance.

Supporting lyrics: "Paint another picture in black and blue...when did all the gold around us rust? I've got nowhere to hide, to say goodbye to the girl...Take a look at where we used to be, now I'm just a vessel lost at sea..."

Track 12) Rapid Eye Movement - Our "hero" has tentative hope for future love, as the dawn closes in, and in exhaustion he finally falls fitfully asleep.

Supporting lyrics: "Give me one more quiet night, 'fore this loud morning gets it right...Does this story have an ending? 'Cause I'm needing to escape into the blinding lights of day, to try again..So this is it, these rapid eyes will keep on moving...Is this story worth forgetting?"

This Loud Morning fits together very cohesively as a body of work with a classic story of love and heartbreak. I can't think of another album I've heard that tells a story over the entire album so well! David Cook, the producers, and co-writers outdid themselves!!!

Has anyone else received their fan pack yet? I was quite surprised when I got an email notification that it shipped on Tuesday. I was almost afraid to post, as I don't want to make anyone feel left out for NOT getting theirs yet. LOL

P.S. - Yes, the bonus songs fit into the story arc, too...but it's getting late and I don't have the energy to review those, too.

Went out to dinner last night for my son-in-laws birthday at Texas Roadhouse. And my 6 year old grandson pointed out something to me about David Cook on his children's menu. (I know I'm lame that even my grandson knows about my interest in David) They had important facts about the different states and he had a Missouri kid menu. (went to the O'Fallon MO restaurant) They had 3 names listed as famous Missourians and the list was, Jesse James, Mark Twain and David Cook winner of American Idol. He made the list and even beat out president Harry S. Truman.

....so did y'all take advantage of that ADORABLE thingy Cookie offered up for us?!!!!

...oh man I was soooooo excited when I saw that!!! ...I immediately sent one to my Mom, best Momma in the World, I'm just sayin' ..and to two friends--- LOL and okay okay YES, I ADMIT it, I even sent one to MYSELF!!! ...just incase someone didn't see the offer and send one TO me, LOLOL!!!!!!

..and just a cute little story too--- the other day I was at a department store register buyin' some stuff.. my big ol' keychain/keys were laying on the counter, on it of course the David Cookie keychain being sold during the 'Declaration' Tour... I wasn't really paying attention and all of a sudden the cashier kind of yells out, 'OHHHHHHH!!! David COOK!!!" ...
&%#$@ I thought Holy CR@P as I whirled around expecting to see him there or something!!!!!! LOLLLL!!! ..."OH MY GOSH I just LOVEEEEEEEE HIM!!!" LOL then I realize..... it's the *keychain*!!!

...but it was ADORABLE... this girl was probably about 18-20 ...she was saying how much she LOVES him, then proceeds to kind of lean in to me and says, '..and you know what? ..he was on 'American Idol' last week.. and he was singing.. and you know what ELSE?! ...oh my Gosh he is sooooooo HOTTTTT!!!!! "

LOLOL!!!!!!! ...it was just adorable, and I stood there agreeing with every word she uttered as we both laughed and squeeed like little school girls, and as the party behind me got such a kick out of all of it too

..and as I was walking away I was just thinking, like I often do... 'Wow... he just comes across to just SOOOO many pepole-- here's an 18/20 year old.. me.. 30's... my Mom... now 71 ... he just appeals to everyone... across the board... ...I just LOVE that

OKAY, so I am admittedly a chronic worrier/anxiety-ridden type person, LOL ..I PROMISE though, there is WAYYYY more to me than that!!! FUN stuff!!! I SWEAR!!!

Anyway-- should it be concerning at all that neither DYFAM or TLG are not even on the top 200 on ITunes??? And I live in a large city-- I have not ONCE heard either single on the radio-- I have called 2 stations (which normally play David) many times, only to be told something like, 'yeah, we don't have it yet'.... and stock answers like that... STILL they are not being played...?!

I am green to the workings of the music business, etc, so I genuinely do not know.. but... IS it concerning that these singles seem to have done extremely poorly...? Or is this like 'the norm' in the music business for singles released so far prior to the album release to not do so well at first...?

HELP! ..any information/consoling would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!

Hi y'all!!!!!!

..just wondering if there are any Phoenix and other parts of AZ out here..?!!

And I've gotta tell ya-- somethin' is TICKIN' ME OFF man!!!!!!!!!! ..and wanted to ask *everyone*-- if this is normal.. if this is the norm...

Okay so anyway, when TLG came out a bit back, I was fully expecting to hear it on our station here 96.9 ..I kept waiting.. and waiting...

I began to call in and ask about it.. .don't get me wrong, the DJ is very nice and I've talked to him several times over the years, since Cookie's first release... but.. the answer I kept getting to my question of, 'WHEN THE FLOCK ARE YOU GOING TO START PLAYING DAVID COOK'S NEW SINGLE???!?!?!?!!' was always something like, 'oh.. we don't have it yet.. or oh.. I can't find it anywhere... ' ...

Now I have called every single day about this, and still keep receiving these stock answers...it makes no sense to me... we are one of the largest cities in the country.. we should HAVE this single and be playing it like crazy.. it should've been the 'pick of the night' over a week ago... and here, as it sits now, it has been played a total of *ZERO* times.. and just to add it in, 'DYFAM' has NEVER been played...

I think something really stinks in paradise here, and I canNOT figure out why??!?!?!?!?!

The DJ even suggested I get on the website and write in to 'music questions' about it.....did so and still haven't heard anything...

I continue to call every single day about it, and continue to hear the DJ say that he keeps getting multiple calls from different people every day about it but alas..still nothing is done..

Does anyone know, is this the norm??!!?!??!! ...any other cities/markets having this same problem???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!

AAARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..doesn't seem like this should be this didfficult....

Sexy Songs That David Should Cover ;)

SO

We all know what a sexy beast David is, and we all know he can growl his way through a song like nobody's business, and I was just wondering: after hearing his ultra-sultry cover of "Don't You (Forget About Me)," what other "sexy" songs do you think he should cover in the future, either on the new album or while on tour?

For me personally, I would LOVE to hear him sing "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting," by Elton John. It's such a bombastic, rocking, testosterone-fueled tornado of sexy aggression--how could he NOT totally kill it?

Also, I thought it'd be really interesting if he did a cover of Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," with all those crooning notes in the verses and the wailing in the chorus. He could really put together a fantastic rendition and make it positively smoldering. :wub
What about everyone else? What do you think David should cover in the sexy department
