i was wondering if there are plans about moderating or merging threads of the same topic?
it's getting difficult to navigate the forum due to the sheer number of posts and having different threads with similar topics just add to the confusion. just a thought. just wondering what could be done. |

I agree that it gets crazy when there are 5 threads about the same thing. My other pet peeve is when the title doesn't say what it's about, like "Did you see this?" well, I don't know, since I don't know what "this" is. I wish everyone would be specific in their title or subtitle.

Yeah. I have noticed this lately. Not that it's a problem. It just gets annoying after a while.

yeah I hate to be a complainer too but it's REALLY annoying when there are multiple threads on the same topic. to be honest it's because people don't look around or read what's already posted before posting something new. if everyone just took a few minutes before posting something it would help, there are tons of people on this board so chances are someone already posted whatever article/video/appearance/interview you're looking to post.

Perhaps a suggestion could appear when one tries to open a new thread to first use the Search function with keywords to be sure the topic hasn't already been started . . .

I think it was crazier before the new subforums and sections were made. There could be discussions on some video in TV appearances, All about DC and News&Articles lol. And while the KC madness was new, it definitely didn't stay in one topic which made it kinda messy.

Ironically, right below this thread in the help section is a thread asking what tv show david should be on. Maybe a friendly reminder to check WHERE you are posting as well as what

Perhaps a suggestion could appear when one tries to open a new thread to first use the Search function with keywords to be sure the topic hasn't already been started . . . I was just about to log on and discuss this very issue! Glad to see others share my frustration in navigating this forum now. There is just so much to read, and if you're away from the boards for more than a couple of days, you are faced with total sensory overload! I absolutely agree about making it mandatory for folks to do a search first before starting new threads. In fact, on the other fan boards I'm on, it is posted as a MANDATORY rule, and abuse of the rule results in a temporary ban. And public ridicule as well. Now, one thing I like about this forum is that everyone seems so mellow and cool (insert vision of magic rainbow here), so I wouldn't want things to turn hostile. But it is simply a matter of common courtesy to do a search first before starting a new thread. And I strongly believe it should be stated in a pinned folder on the first page that this is the policy. Otherwise, I think this is one of the best fan sites out there. Mad props to Travis and the mods!! I just don't want all their hard work and efforts to turn to anarchy!! Thanks for reading. I guess the site is having technical problems |

Yes - there has been quite a bit of multi postings of the same topic. I for one have also been at fault.
Information regarding our David is coming in fast and furious and when people see articles online via Yahoo, ET, ect. it is our nature to spread the news to our community of friends. One way to see if an item has been processed is to use the "search" tool at the top of the website. Even that, sometimes does not work because depending on how the topic was worded - the similar subject lines may not come out. Question to Travis from an admin perspective: Is there any other trigger that we can utilize to try to consolidate or avoid similar postings. Thanks, Annette |
