I was getting frustrated too right after Idol, because I couldn't find DC's song. I finally gave up and decided to try Thursday morning. Still couldn't find it grrr
However, when I got home that night, after work, I went on there, clicked on Kris Allen and then saw a link for other AI performances. Finally, I saw it, right there in top, right hand corner of the page. I got it right away and listened to it a few times and then I had to leave my house again. What a guy.I wish there was a video to download...grrr. Although, I have decided to record it on my camera, because it's on my DVR right now, and then upload it to my laptop. That way I have it forever. Not only am I going to record the performance, I'm also going to record what Ryan said before and the small interview afterwards. I can't believe there won't be a video to help raise even more money. I think we should have a link for people to be able to download the video and charge them like $1.49 (like Itunes does; or charge an even $2.00) and have the proceeds go to ABC2. |

If you download the video from one of these links, go donate a few dollars to ABC2 yourself. That's one thing we can do to partially offset the loss. Share the links with others and ask them to do the same.

That sucks about the video, stupid RCA. I bet they changed their minds cause it was going to charity and they saw how sales went up for the single and record and didn't want to lose the money. Maybe they aren't that cruel, but I can't think of any other reason. I hope they get the money from the regular Permanent for charity.
We can't get over Permanent, but there was something else about the finale I wanted to mention. DANNY GOKEY SANG "HELLO" WITH LIONEL RITCHIE!!!!!!!!!! I nearly puked, I like the guy, but in my mind that is forever David's song and should not be touched. My mom said "it was Lionel's song first" and I told her "it is, but David is the only one who can sing it besides him". I watched the DVR of it, not live so I stopped fast forwarding when I saw Danny and I heard the music and I said to myself "oh no he's not", then I heard "I've been alone" and I shut it off, cause I knew that's what Lionel was there for, David should have done that, even though Danny was on this year, Lionel should have come last year to sing it with David. Sorry if this offends anybody. I had to go listen to David's a few times to wash my ears out. |

I just downloaded it last night and just listened to it. It's just an amazing performance. When I saw it on Wed., I didn't even breathe when he sang it, so I almost didn't get the full impact of it. I'm just really blown away by it. That's how its done, AI8 finalists (though they are talented as well)! I think one year out, there's just such a different maturity now.
I'm not happy that so much money is "lost" due to the producers not releasing the "right" version early enough and now no video. I hope someone, besides David, ponies up the money for this worthy organization because of all this. We just found out that one of my husband's friend's husband has stage four cancer all over including his brain. It's just so sensless. Jessica |

Great review of David's performance (from the TV Guide website)!
David Cook: "Permanent" Cookie was on hand to open the show and pass the proverbial crown to either Adam and Kris. He gave a wonderful, emotional performance, no doubt still feeling the effects of recently losing his brother to cancer. As such, the live performance is now available on iTunes, and all proceeds go to cancer research. It's like a finale and Idol Gives Back night all rolled into one. Well done, David. |

That brings up a question I had. Did I miss it or was there no Idol Gives Back this year?
I hope iTunes donates money, 19/RCA needs to too. I just found out I have 3 half sisters a few days ago and one of them's husband has brain cancer. So now I want to get more involved. |

I had read/heard that there was no Idol Gives Back, because the producers of the show decided that with what the economy is going through, not to do one. They'll do one next year, they said. After last year, they decided to do Idol Gives Back every other year. So hopefully in season 9 we'll see one. I hope they do it, because I did enjoy it last year. Plus, seeing Cook was great  If they do decide to do it, I hope the invite Cook back.
