I have a sister who lives in Kansas City, MO. I don't talk to her as much as I'd like to. Anyway, I get a text from her, out of the blue the other day. I finally remember to ask her if she knows David, or has ever seen him perform? (she works in a restaurant as a banquet manager). She tells me that David used to be her cashier in the grocery store she goes to, and he used to bag her groceries! She said she would see him around, getting in his car, and in town.

What a difference a year makes, huh?! Now here he is, living his dream and getting paid to do what he loves! I am so happy for him and so honored and proud to be his fan!

Wow... from bagging groceries and playing in bars to under 10 people to platinum selling artist. What a leap! No wonder he feels like this is all so surreal at times.

Thanks for sharing the David tidbit, Tina. smile.gif

Same here. I always knew that he used to play in a small bar and bartending. But being a bag boy?

Interesting tidbit on David but I never heard about the bag boy either.

Maybe it was a brief job?

didn't he also work at kauffman stadium, too? i'm almost positive he mentioned that when he got to throw out the pitch at the royals game. he also wore some sort of costume when he worked at country buffet, but that didn't last long because he got beat up, i think.

I remember the story about the restaurant, don't have the interview link though. He had to wear a big chicken costume and said got beat up a couple of times so he quit. I also remember him saying he worked at the stadium, but I haven't heard about a store.

Hey Guys - (Gals)

I'm back. Sorry it took me so long to jump back on the board. We had an emergency with my husband's brother (named David, BTW). Anyway - that is a good question about when David worked in a store. I remember last summer someone from Blue Springs posted that David bagged her groceries in a grocery store near her home, but again, I don't remember her posting about how long ago that was.... my sister has lived in KC for almost 20 years, so it could've been awhile ago. But I will find out, don't you worry!

I'm sure just like anyone else trying to make it, he had several jobs along the way. He has also mentioned he put furniture together but said he wasn't very good at it.

David Cook....I'm SO glad you stuck to making great music! laugh.gif
