When Andy was asked who wrote The Beggar, he replied that it was Neal and him. They make a great writing team, IMO.

THH Show! June 23rd!! Key Club, West Hollywood!!! Be There!!!!!

Not that I'm excited or anything, LOL. The people who are playing with him are friends of his. Very talented and very nice. Not all that long ago, I had talked to them about nagging Andy for me for a show because I was getting tired. Looks like they did!!!

Just a reminder to you local yocals that the show at The Key Club is this coming Thursday. Come on out and be entertained!! Make sure you get there early enough to catch Bravo Delta. You won't be disappointed. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.

So, did anyone from here come to this? I'm thinking not since most of you live elsewhere. We had a fabulous time and it was so wonderful to have Andy up on the small stage again. I had longed to have a show here again for so long because I had gotten quite spoiled when he did that string of shows here several years ago. Why else would the likes of me go all the way to Tulsa (at Christmastime of all times....ka ching!) several times to hear him? So, to me, it was like giving a person dying of thirst a much needed glass of water even if it was a short set.

We had a good turnout of friends and fans, IMO. Neal, Kira, Jenny, Gabe, Amy, Andrew, Monty, Brandon Saller from BCC and Atreyu and his beautiful lady. I'm sure I'm missing people in my list, but a very good turnout. Of course, Brandon Davis and Diane Haney from Bravo Delta played the set right before Andy and blew me away like they always do. The evening went late as these things tend to do. Each band playing that night had roughly 30 minute sets and the sound guy was ruling with an iron fist most of the time. Andy told me he was hoping to crank out 7 songs and I said he would have to not talk at all and play like a son of a gun, LOL. As it turned out, he didn't manage that many, but he did play my "pony", The Beggar, which he and Neal wrote. I was very happy about that and about the fact that my party got there early enough to snag one of the few comfortable couches right at the stage. It sure beats standing for several hours and nobody could stand in front of us.

While it would have been nice for David to have been there and show support like the rest, he wasn't and that, in my opinion, was a good thing. We certainly didn't need a 3 ring circus and, I'm sure, there were probably a few people there primarily in the hopes of his attendance as there always is. I know he would love to support his friends, but he also knows when it is best to stay away and, according to him, give them some space to pursue their music. It is a shame he can't just come and go like the rest, but I can certainly understand the situation and appreciate his absence.

My hubby and I left when Andy and Jenny left and got home and to bed around 2AM. I sure wish we could have a show like that weekly. Getting Andy to do it? Well, that is another matter entirely, LOL. I do hope he will consider another show before long. Might have to begin my nagging once more. Poor guy. wink.gif

"We certainly didn't need a 3 ring circus"....

Who exactly is "we"? If you mean David's friends, I sure would like to hear that from them or have you been designated as their spokesperson, lol. I'm glad you "appreciate his absence", that's very generous of you. I've never read or seen one interview with David where he has said he doesn't go to his friends shows to "give them some space to pursue their own music". That seems to be a presumption on your part. Maybe he doesn't go so that he doesn't have to deal with the distain of so-called fans like you who think that he's stealing someone else's thunder by merely existing and living his life.
Glad you had a good time and that horrible Cook fellow didn't show up and ruin your face time with his friends.

That gave me a good laugh this morning. What I meant is that, many times, when the man comes to support his friends, there are, many times, fans there who take the focus off the person performing and put it on him instead. I think that is the reason he steers clear of these events. I would rather he come and support if the results weren't so chaotic. Many times some of the people who attend are there primarily in the hopes that he shows up. I remember going to something once in Tulsa and there were people there who sat the entire evening with frowny faces and arms crossed because he didn't come. It gave me a good laugh that they didn't get the payoff they were hoping for.

Ah well...it is what it is. All of those guys are good musicians and good people. I try to support all of them in their projects if I can. Great music is an awesome payoff.

Looks like we get a new MWK EP soon. Looking forward to hearing some new tunes. Doubt we will get a show as members of the group are busy, but some new recorded music is always welcome.

Point is why care what other people are doing or project your feelings onto David. Unless he's actually told you he's not at shows because fans show up on the off chance of seeing him and even if they are, so what. Does it take away your enjoyment of Andy, Neal or whomever? If it does that's unfortunate. Unless these people surround David and make a scene I don't see a handful of fans creating a "chaotic" environment. If I were you I'd pay more attention to who's on stage rather than the audience. As far as David goes, maybe he's not even in town or maybe on a date, lol. No law says he has to go everywhere with his friends.
