Gotta love the way he handled that provocative question known as, "Are you dating at the moment?" Any celeb would give cliche answers like "I'm not dating", when they actually are. Cookie, on the other hand, didn't hesistate to be truthful about it. From how he talked about his dinner date, I could guess about much that he enjoyed himself very much. David, if you're happy, I'm also happy

DITTO to THAT! I think if you give the people what they want and are 100% truthful, the press can't make up stuff, cause you already told them a lot.

I didn't really like the kimberly thing at first. But after watching this, he looks so happy. If they break up and the realtionship falls to bits in a horrible way-then the bashing will begin. But for now- YAY! FOR A HAPPY DAVID COOK.

Who knew he had bronchitis early on? I wonder when. It was weird back then because they told us that Ramiele, for example, was sick. And others among the girls? But nobody ever said that David had bronchitis!!

I think he was sick during the top 20 week because Kelly Ripa said he was sick the first time she saw him. I googled Kelly Ripa and American Idol and she went on a special tour of the set with Ryan Seacrest on Feb. 26th which was the guys night of the top 20 week. All the girls were sick the week before that (top 24). I agree that it was weird that they made a big deal out of the girls being sick but didn't even mention David. I did read somewhere that he collapsed before one of the shows and kept saying he couldn't perform but then "pulled it together" and went ahead with his performance.

Ok, I didn't really know where to post this, because I tried in another thread and it was locked, but I just wanted to add my thoughts about DC & KC, in a totally non-bashing, still committed to supporting David kind of way. I never did hear that David had asked her out, so on R&K was the first time I'd heard, and I have to say I was a little crushed and heartbroken, because truthfully, I have no life, and wanted the illusion of him being single, maybe dating me, (!) to last a while longer, coupled with the fact that I've watched AI since season 2 and KC was never a favorite of mine, and I struggled with my feelings for a few days, read some great supportive posts here, and feel much better!
I realize I have no right to even care about what he does in his personal life, I mean I loved him on Idol not knowing if he was seeing anyone then until he answered the fan question that he was single! And the whole dinner thing seemed casual to me anyway, if her mom was really there, how could that have been a romantic date? And just the way he said maybe they'll hang out again, also sounds casual, I'm not worried about him getting married like some others, I really don't see how he'll even time to focus on something like that with how busy he's going to be, I just hope if they should become something more than friends, that she, or anyone else he chooses to be with, treats him right, and doesn't try to use him for fame, which I'm sure David would be smart enough to know if someone was only with him for that purpose anyway.
When I care about someone, it becomes hard to not get emotionally envolved, and because of that, I only want what's best for him.
I don't see why anyone would say they hate him now, or likeing him isn't the same, my mom who loved him throughout the show, even said he'd lost his appeal to her, and I was like: "why?" this doesn't change what a great guy he is, I maybe wish his taste in girls was a bit better, but this definately hasn't changed the way I look at him.
I thought how open and honest he's been about it was quite refreshing, so many celebs lie about who they're seeing when everyone knows it true, he did seem so cute talking about her, I think it only hurts because I wish it was me! But again, that's all in my head.
Anyway I hope I haven't made anyone upset, and that my post isn't bad enough to be a problem, or get reported, I just wanted to share my feelings, and say I still love David, and can't wait to see what's next for him!
I'll be seeing him on tour in July and can't wait for his album, again I just want what's best for him and his career, I'm a loyal Clayfan, and have spent the past five years supporting Clay in a non-crazy Claymate way, not letting every little thing upset me, but always being there for the man, and that's the same approach I'm going to take in my support of David.
