My Verizon FIOs was cutting in and out as it does whenever it's really cold and windy...ack! What a crappy way to watch our dear David sing, and the ball drop at midnight! Ah well, thank goodness for David-Cook.org and you terrific, mutually obsessed David Cook fans who upload this stuff so quickly! (sorry but DavidCookOfficial just can't keep up!)

I may not have said it often enough cos I've always been more of a lurker.THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything (news,articles,music,videos,photos...)of David.For a good part of 2008,I've been able to use David's music to help me see thru some not so good times.The posts by you guys have been my daily antidote...helped me see many things from a different and better perspective.Think I finally plucked the courage to post at dco only in the last 2-3 mths on the Asian thread,after months of deliberation and one day,I was overcome by so much I had read on these two sites that I felt compelled to write as well.Many a times when I was contemplating to post,someone would hv posted it..it's like where David is concerned,we all seem to think alike.We (virtually and physically) hv always worked like a team.To be able to follow his journey and watch his music career take-off at such pace makes us so proud..like he is our son..or to the younger ones,their BF.I still remember Oprah (Olympics) then the DCTR liner notes..it was so hilarious cos we had to speculate and resort to even using magnifying glass to spot David and to read contents of the DCTR booklet.The daily youtubes during tour,Mavid..then SNL,DWGALA,DCTR @ HR ... was so much fun.The PC savvy ones had been so helpful in giving advice to people like me on how to edit photos,to post videos,to save MP3s...so,so much I had learned in 2008 just by faithfully logging on to the dash and dco.Admittedly,in early 2008..I never even used facebook nor hv I heard of photobucket,mediafire,megaupload,etc..I even had to ask my children what "LOL" meant.That's how dumb I was.Whenever I'm up for some laughs and fun or 'profanities',I now even visit the fangirls' thread.You guys hv been so unified and selfless in keeping all of us informed and entertained on all things related to David.I've also been fortunate to hv made friends with some of u and to able to share some of our lifestories.In short,thanks again for 2008 and I look forward to more in 2009.

I was just asking because this girl says that she had her pic taken with David right afterwards and it was on NYE. I thought that he got the platinum record the night before.

The TOML platinum record presentation was done live during the FOX show on NYE. David and the Band's performance was taped the night before.

Well folks...
I am up late because I had to finish the sorry game where Florida whipped OU, but in the meantime, I as able to catch up on this thread.
1) Ewolf and reinhav.. look at your PM's I'll be in DC this weekend.
2) Did anyone hear DC's interview today. I am not sure which one it was but in one of his interview with either PA or KC he said that it dawned on him when he took the stage at the NYE performance, what has happened to him. Okay, I might be paraphrasing.
But, my point is this. This guy is going to be huge. I usually get on the bandwagon when I see poltical folks that are gonna make it big (unfortunately, my party is sucking and doesn't have anyone on the horizon) so instead I have focused on David Cook.
I have a pretty good sixth sense, and I thought we turned the cusp on NYE. David didn't seem like his normal "self" but I sensed that he saw what reality was.
Here it was, NYE, 90 percent of the audience were people who didn't come for him, but by the second song, people were bobbing their heads and screaming... we are onto something big... and yes, I am embarrassed that some of you have noticed I have been to alot of the performances, but I have the opportunity to relive the life I didn't have in my 20's. Not because I didn't want to, but because I wasn't interested, and now I have the resources, to do whatever the heck I want (but trust me, I don't admit to my family where I have been).
So, David also acknowledged that this is real, 2009 is going to be big for him, but not as big as he is going to get.
So.. let's all stick with it.
Zoo, might have to join you at Kimmel on the 13th, but I can't focus on that till Sunday.
Looking forward to 2009!!!

Kim, I just saw this post and hope to see you there on the 13th. I agree with some things you said about having the opportunity to relive the life you didn't have in my 20s. Heck, in my 20s I was busy getting married, setting up a home, having kids.....no time for all of this nonsense. Now, with my kids grown and a job that is flexible enough for me to do things and give me the resourses to do it, I can enjoy myself a little. So everyone, forgive me my midlife crisis, but it is mine and I'm going to enjoy it.

I have been to many, many concerts, but I have never followed anyone's career like I have David's! I used to go see a band on tour, but then after they left my city, I didn't follow them anywhere else. But, when I was in my 20s, people didn't go online to keep up with a band or artist either! With the world wide web, we now have access to performances on You Tube, fan forums and ways to interact with other fans! It's wonderful!

I went to 2 AI shows. It did raise an eyebrow with some members of my family. My dad asked me if there was something to see at the second show that I didn't see at the first one? I have gone to 2 of Andy's shows in Tulsa and didn't tell my family about it! I love following the music! They don't understand, so I don't tell them. When David goes on tour, I'm sure I'll go to more than one show!! I took my brother with me to the AI concerts. I have now Cookified him! hahaha.... I LOVE it!!

This year, I plan to go to more shows and I hope that I get to meet more fans!!
