Hey all! Since I'm going to the Kansas City shows in about 5 weeks, I was brainstorming ideas for fun, easy little projects to put together and give to David and Andrew.
David, if you're lurking, don't read this thread! --- WORD NERDS' FAVORITE WORDS PROJECT For David, I thought it would be a cute idea for everyone to find one cool word. Any word. Just not something boring like...'the'. If you've heard him say the word, it might not be a good idea to choose it, either, since he likely already knows it. There are plenty of words in the dictionary to choose from after all. Along with this, post your name and where you're from, and I'll compile everyones' creative words, definitions, and sentences into a booklet and give it to him! Us and David will surely learn some new things and have fun with this project. --- FAN LETTERS FOR ANDREW PROJECT This part is pretty straight forward - everyone can write a letter to Andrew. It doesn't have to be a novel; it can be as short or long as you'd like (within reason). Write about how you are wishing good luck to Andrew in his music career, or anything you want. Those are just suggestions. Again, I'll include your name and where you're from, combine the letters into a booklet, and deliver them to the other Cook brothers (or if I don't see them for some reason, I'll give them to someone who can give the stuff to them). --- Have fun with this, and feel free to either post or PM your contributions by August 26th! (And feel free to move this topic if it's in the wrong place...) |

This is an awesome idea, Jess! I'll start with Part 1 (David's Dictionary) first and come back later for Part 2 (Andrew letter).

okay i wanna contribute my favorite word of all time: shenanigans!
DEFINITION: 1. Usually, shenanigans. a. mischief; prankishness: Halloween shenanigans. b. deceit; trickery. 2. a mischievous or deceitful trick, practice, etc. SENTENCE: I bet David has pulled all kinds of shenanigans on the other guys on the bus! okay, there's my attempt at a good sentence. As for the letter to Andrew, here is mine: Andrew: I just wanted to say thank you for making David try out. It's all your fault, and I've never been so happy to blame someone for something in my life! I can't imagine this American Idol season without him. I'm glad he finally gets to share his amazing talent with the world! Speaking of talent, I know you can sing too! You're totally awesome!! I hope to see you on American Idol next year. You definitely have my support! Hopefully you will continue playing in the Kansas City area so I can come see you sometime! Keep rockin! Much love, Maddie Wolf (: Maddie Wolf Kansas City, KS |

I LOVE this idea too. Here is my contribution to the David Fan dictionary:
The word is behoove (my favorite) Function: verb Inflected Form(s): be·hooved; be·hoov·ing Etymology: Middle English behoven, from Old English behōfian, from behōf Date: before 12th century transitive verb : to be necessary, proper, or advantageous for <it behooves us to go> It would behoove everyone on the planet, heck the universe, to enjoy David's wonderful artistry. flib·ber·ti·gib·bet flighty person: somebody who is regarded as silly, irresponsible, or scatterbrained, especially one who chatters or gossips David, if I meet you I may appear to be a flibbertigibbet, but that is probably just due to nerves! Mary Ellen Philadelphia, PA |

I'm in.....
TRUTHINESS Truthiness- The quality of stating concepts one wishes or believes to be true, rather than the facts. David's truthiness about his inability to ask a woman on a date is very hard to believe. Dearest Cook boys: I love each of you as if I've known you my whole life and I hope to meet each of you some day soon! Wishing you ALL the luck in the world! Hello. I want to be included in that "David's Dictionary". I'm an international fan and English isn't my mother tongue language. Could I write a word in Spanish with its definition and sentence in both languages? Is it possible?
I think that it would make a difference and would be something original. Thanks in advance Regards |
