According to MJ, this is the Best! AI! Mashup! Evah! ( http://mjsbigblog.com/hilarious-ai-7-mash-...o.htm#more-5438 )
So I checked it out... and she's right. it's hilarious!!

My apologies if this has been posted somewhere else.
No wait, I don't apologize... because the video is that good!

My favourite part comes at around 7:00 when David is talking and John Krasinski's voice is played talking about how you shouldn't eat black jelly beans laugh.gif

Edit: By the looks of it, lots of other people like their video too!!

I'm really REALLY happy that you all love it so much! My sister and I worked really hard on it and I am pleasantly surprised at the attention it's received in the last 24 hours. The part where I placed Jim Halpert's voice on Cook's was the best because (though it was hard getting it in place) it matches so darn well.

I can't believe MJ's Blog has it up! That is awesome!! I will inform you all of a sequel that is in the works as we speak. Yes. I said sequel! wink.gif

I would love for the Idols to see this. They would love it too, right?

I'm so very glad that you love it CanadianCookie! *hugs* We are working on the sequel at the moment but there's suddenly a lot of pressure to make it better than the first and making sure it doesn't lag anywhere. It's not going to be easy but Nadia and I are going to try and scout out the best audio possible. Your love and appreciation goes beyond words for us - it really is very sweet of you and the audience watching to give us that kind of feedback. And as a fellow Canadian (from Toronto), it means even more. You should really be our press agent, or something - lol. We Canucks really push forward together, EH?

I had no idea that this video would skyrocket over the next few hours of it's upload. Someone mentioned on another board that it's becoming a "cult" hit and I was like, "whaat?" It's just my baby. I never imagined it being on various blogs and boards and getting that feedback. I was only going to promote it in the boards that I was a member of. I never imagined it going out of my realm. I also never thought it would outshine the other videos on my page...I hope the other videos don't get jealous, lol...

I had no idea Vote For The Worst dom com put it up until I heard it from you. I immediately checked my YT statistics and saw it had large amount of hits from there. I've never really liked that site so that was sort of disheartening at first because I never wanted to be a part of the whole "negative" American Idol image, you know? My sister carefully explained to me that (a) any publicity is good publicity despite what the reviews are - don't read them if you don't like the site and (cool.gif the Idols won't believe I'm associating myself with "worsters" because in the video description, I've explained myself to how we wanted the video perceived - a "positive" image of humour that the Idols, themselves showcase, so they would never think that of our creation. Plus, I know I'm not a "worster". All of our other YT videos on our channel are a testament to the love we have for the Season 7 Idols. And further to what my sister said (lol), "besides, I highly doubt David Cook and the rest of the gang, after a heavy concert would decide to hit up the first site in their head for feedback - Vote For The Worst dot com."

So, I'm kind of over it but I feel better when I look at the stats of MJsBlog. They are really hitting them high up on that site. It's amazing.

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE if the Idols have seen or will see the video! A friend of mine, (plaisancepleasures of YT) put the link up on Michael Johns' MySpace as well as Carly's....so, in no time, right? lol...

Once again, thanks CanadianCookie! You're as sweet as a "cookie"! smile.gif

By the way, you own the CanadianCookies on Facebook, right? Nadia and I are members of that...awesome club there my friend! wink.gif

I too laughed while making the video. It was completely unprofessional on my part, lol. But seriously, how can you keep a straight face with some of that dialogue? I'm really glad you like the video and the cookie parts and I'm appreciative and humbled to be a part of your day! smile.gif

My goodness Tania, I'm blushing after your nice words to me!
I wanted to answer and comment back to a few of the things you said.

First of all, I'm sad that you and your sister feel that you're under pressure to put out another one that will be just as great. I'm sure it will be beyond phenomenal, just the same as the first one was. And if not, who cares... as long as you're satisfied with it.

Second of all... I love that you're from Canada. Did you manage to see the idols at the Toronto stop? Did you meet any of them?

I'm not one to normally hang out on Vote For The Worst dot com. The only reason I was on it, was to spoil the results of Canadian Idol before I (on the West Coast) could watch it. I'm not normally a supporter of the negativity (just like you stated you were) but I thought it was great that they mentioned your video under a positive headline. It almost makes up for it! Haha. And no, I can't imagine any of the Idols finding it on that website. I certainly wouldn't want to go to a website that votes for the worst Idol, on the off chance I would see something bad about myself laugh.gif
And I agree with your sister, any publicity is good publicity.

I saw your video listed on Rickey dot org's website the other day too. It was linked from MJ's blog though.
Here's the link for it if you haven't seen it already http://www.rickey.org/?p=8654

That's awesome about your friend linking it on Michael and Carly's website. I'm sure they'll see it in no time.
You should also think about putting it on michaeljohnsonline.com. I'm sure they would get a kick out of it... although, they've probably already seen it! Try linking it to Syesha and Ramiele's myspace pages. They mention in their blogs that they check their myspace pages all the time, so you would almost for certain get them to watch, and hopefully pass it along. I would do it myself, but I have no idea how to post a video in someone's myspace page! Technology like that is wayyy above my head!

I wish I owned the Canadian Cookies on Facebook. Sadly, it was someone else's brilliant mind who did that. Although, I had my name on here before they came up with the Facebook Page. *sigh* I guess I'm a little bit slower than your average Canadian... laugh.gif

Hope to hear from you soon, and don't stress yourself out over this second video. If you need any help with the research, let me know. After all, what are neighbours for right wink.gif

Hi-dilly-ho neighbourino! How are you? Don't be sad that my sister and I are getting pressured. It's nothing serious (obviously - there are more important things to fret about in the world like the next Veep of the USA) but the fact is that when I'm reading so many messages on forums and blogs, it's starting to throw me off now. There was this one comment that said, "I'm surprised you've got more footage to even work with" which kind of baffles me because don't people know that there's more than nine minutes of American Idol to work with? There's interviews, the Coke videos, BTS, etc - lol, I just don't get that part but as we're working on it I'm feeling alright because it's turning out the way we wanted! Based on the first video, you might have guessed that the creators are wacky! Nadia and I usually are really random when it comes to humour. If people like the video, then good. If they don't, I don't mind because we originally just made it for ourselves and share it with the "few" people we knew. The fact that it's blown out into the inter-webbing of the internet, still baffles me and I have to scratch my head at that. It's all really good and all the comments do not go underappreciated at all. Some of the comments are so very sweet that it not only humbles me to know that I've made someone's day but I feel like there's much more in life than this video that I can prove to people. I'm glad to have made people very happy, brought a smile to their face and laugh during the day! I feel like saying thank you to everyone has become so trite. I don't know what more to say to people other than giving them *hugs*, so in turn...this is for you too: *hugs*

I did indeed see the Idols in Toronto! Did you get the chance? I didn't get to meet our Cookie nor Ramiele but I got to meet the other eight and I got pictures with five of them although I'm still really angry at Johnsy because even though he told me to take the picture quickly, he looked somewhere else. One of these days Johns. One of these days...

As for the VFTW dot com site, I do see it as a positive as they didn't misconstrue any of the humour to a negative. Some of the comments are really nice but there are a few that kind of make me raise an eyebrow. I don't feel bad about them, I just kind of smirk and go "what?" because there's this one that says "mavid is so ambiguously g-a-y". Yeah. That was the whole point of the clip but does the commentator even know what "ambiguous" means? I feel like if the dude's trying to bash them, it's not working, lol. And another commentator said that the creators are not worsters as they have "tard videos" on their channel. LOL - that was pretty funny as I'm not really into internet lingo and my sister had to fill me in on that. I don't find my videos at all "tard"-like. I find them tarty, perhaps but never "tardy". Tsk tsk...I knew that Andy Williams music video would throw everyone off, lmao.

I have seen the Rickey.org page and that was really nice of Rickey to even post it up as was MJ's gesture. I'm really glad that their audience had a chance to see it and enjoy it. I appreciate all the feedback they've posted. I have included the link on MJO. Are you a member of that forum? I am. I've got the same user name there as I do here. Actually, I have the same user name everywhere...almost everywhere.

I actually sent Syesha the video via Facebook and I sent Chikezie and Michael messages too. My MySpace sent mail says that Chikezie's read it so that's awesome! I just wish I got a response from them in regards to it, you know? I think that would definately make my day for life...does that make sense? Day for life...no...never mind...

I'm not originally from the city of Toronto but I live in the greater Toronto area, lol. It's the York Region area and I just like saying I'm from Toronto because I always tend to go there when I get the chance. You're from the west coast of Vancouver? I use to live in Calgary when I was younger. That counts as west coast too right? Lol...I've been to Vancouver, I was really young so I don't remember a lot. I remember the castle where on Victoria Island (?) they shoot Smallville and pretend it's Lex Luthor's mansion (by the way, I love Smallville and Supernatural!).

Oh my gosh! I just realized there are indeed two "Canadian Cookie" members here. The one who owns the Facebook page is the "Canadian-no space" Cookie" and you're the "Canadian-space-Cookie" but there's no "space" in your usernames. It's just "Canadian Cookie" and then "CanadianCookie". It reminds me of that video I saw on YouTube where David Cook says, "welcome to David dash Cook dot org where you'll find all your David dash Cook needs but this it's about David Cook. It's about David dash Cook" and then it brought me back to thinking about you and you're "Canadian space Cookie" and not "CanadianCookie" who owns the Facebook page called, "Canadian Cookies" but it's not to be mistaken for just "CanadianCookie" as there is a space which made me get confused as I thought you owned it because your username is "Canadian space Cookie" but not to be mistakened again with the Facebook name, "Canadian Cookies". Why a plural? I don't know because you are a single cookie and not a double...oh dear Lord. I think I've gone cross eyed...

I hope I haven't scared you off and that you're doing well! If I do need help, I will not hesitate to ask you! Thank you! wink.gif

You make me laugh... to the highest degree.
I was actually looking forward to checking the website out today in hopes that you had responded to my post. And you did..... with a much longer post! I don't think I can beat your length though laugh.gif

I loved the Canadian Cookie description... and amazingly I followed along with the whole thing. I had to pause a few times and think about what I just read, but I ended up understanding the whole thing. Hah!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, that's what happens when something you do becomes well known... people will share their opinions, even if you don't care to hear it. I guess that's with anything really. You just have to let things like that roll off your shoulders, which by the sounds of it... you have no problem doing. Good for you!

Funny you mention it, one of my favourite parts of the video is actually 'The Ambiguously *** Duo'. I immediately got a SNL flashback in my head. I kind of hoped that there would be a perverted drawing of the two with their heads pasted on cartoon-y bodies. But I guess that would have made the video more R rated than PG... and less commercially acceptable.

I'm definitely looking forward to your feedback from the idols, which I'm hoping will happen soon. Who knows, maybe they've already seen it. After all, they all seem to know who Rickey is.

That's so awesome that you got to meet the idols and take pictures with them, even if MJ had a wandering eye! Because I live on the West Coast I had to pop down to the states and see them at their Tacoma stop. I met the Idols after the concert, but it was in a rushed autograph line, so quick hello's and goodbye's. I managed to luckily get a pic with MJ and while I was waiting for the flash to go off (it seriously took forever) I started to talk. Of course, that's when my camera would decide to take the photo. Ugh... worst picture of me ever!!! Oh well. *curses camera*

I went to Toronto a few years ago to stay with a friend and she took me around and showed me around. When you said you live in the York Region, is that near the Yorkdale Mall? That's the only thing I cam remember from my tour with the word York in it! laugh.gif
Calgary is definitely more West Coast then Ontario... but not quite labeled as West Coast. Haha. I think you have to live slightly closer to the water.
You are so cute that you said Victoria Island. That happens a lot actually. It's actually called Vancouver Island (weird, considering there is already a city called Vancouver) and Victoria is the biggest city on the Island. That's actually where I currently live.
As for the castle where Lex Luthor's mansion is located. I'm not too sure where it is. I assumed it was all filmed in Vancouver (out near Abbotsford, lots of farms and larger houses and away from the city traffic). I think Supernatural is filmed out there too.

And don't you worry my dear, you could never scare me off smile.gif

Hi Laura!

I would have written to you sooner but there's been a lot going on at home and I've just been trying to balance that out (I will PM you more as most of the stuff is no longer related to this thread, lol!)

Don't let my long posts get you overwhelmed. I usually write a lot partially because (a) I talk a lot and (cool.gif I'm a writer. I haven't written anything you've majorly read as yet but hopefully, one of these days! I finished a manuscript for a novel and am currently working on a second while freelancing. As a matter of fact, just last night I actually got my first article published up on Newsvine.com, a citizen journalism site. You can read my column up there at WestlifeBunny's Column. I only have one story that I've written up so far and the other one is a seeded article about American Idol.

I'm glad to have made you laugh with that Canadian Cookie description! You understood it too? I was having a harder time understanding what I wrote after having written it all, lol. That's crazy. I sometimes confuse myself and end up going "huh?" a lot of the time! Hehehe...

I just finished creating two music videos today and will hopefully upload them when I get the chance aside from dealing with all the stuff I'm dealing with (the PM will have all the details).

As per the video, it's gotten a lot more buzz than I expected, especially from one specific Idol! Kristy Lee Cook actually favourited my video on her YouTube page and I'm enclosing the screencap of the page and her URL. It's feedback in some way, right? I sent Syesha, Kristy Lee, Michael and Chikezie messages via their blogs and channels and next thing you know, my messages to Chikezie and Michael on MySpace say that they've been "read" and Kristy favourites my video on her channel.

Okay, so I'm going to PM you now with the rest of the stuff I really wanted to tell you! So, check your inbox! wink.gif

Tania,
That is soooo awesome about the Idols reading the messages. And even more cool that KLC favourited the video! That's what it's all about right? Congrats lady!
And I bookmarked your page on newsvine.com so I will read what you've written and I'll read your future entries. One of my closest friends (actually, ironically enough, her name is Tanya too) is starting journalism in the fall. I keep encouraging her to write but she's super afraid. I think if I bug her enough about it she'll eventually start writing just to get me off her back laugh.gif
I'm going to finish catching up on the rest of the topics I missed on the board and then I will head over to my inbox and answer your pm!

I didn't get the "ambiguously g-a-y" reference, either. Obviously, Michael Johns isn't g-a-y, and it doesn't appear that Dave is, either, so what's ambiguous about their friendship?

Obviously, they are not g-a-y SoCalGal. In the SNL sketch, the two characters are not g-a-y either but are in situations where they appear to be so and made it into a joke regarding Mavid.

I was only talking in reference to a comment made on VFTW, where they were using the word "ambiguously" in the wrong context in a comment I read.
