For me nothing beats the Rock God kick a** back bend from Tacoma! I watch for the Rock Star moves--the head bangs, the bends, the kicks, the time he dumped the water on his head and shook it all over the place--that was radawesome.

American Idol Tour 2008

July 1 – Glendale, AZ, jobing.com Arena
Meet N Greet: Where the fans had to stand was VERY high up above the parking lot where the buses were. It was extremely hot that day, and many fans had been standing there waiting for hours. David came out and tried to throw water bottles up to the fans.
David tells fans they have permission to burn and share copies of Analog Heart.
Concert: David Cook announces that his brother, Adam Cook’s, brain tumor has stopped growing; he dedicates the Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” to Adam. David gives a shout-out to newly married Ruben Studdard. DC tells audience that he lost an ear monitor, but that he will keep it out.

July 2 – San Diego, CA, San Diego Sports Arena
Before the Show: David and Archie do handstands out by the buses in the afternoon.
Banter after “Time of My Life”: David talked about asking Brooke White what Glendale was going to be like, and he imitated Brooke whispering “It’s gonna be awesome”, because she was on vocal rest. Then he said he asked Carly what San Diego was like and he imitated her Irish accent, saying, “It’s awesome”.
Banter before “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”: A girl at the afternoon Meet N Greet had given David a book of poems. David dedicates the song to her and says that her “poetry is fantastic”.
Banter before “My Hero”: David said, “It’s a very rare occurrence to get to do what you love, and love what you do, and I consider myself one of the fortunate few. So thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to do this.”

July 3 – Fresno, CA, SaveMart Center
Concert: “Hello” - David wearing Fresno State Bulldogs baseball jersey. Fresno State had just won the college world series. After the song, David congratulates them and says, “Alright, I want to hear all the barking.” After the song he took off the jersey and threw it into the crowd.
Banter before “My Hero”: Timmy brings out David’s guitar, and David just stands there, stretching, then says, “Do you think uncomfortable for Tim yet, just standin’ here, killin’ time. Everybody give it up for Timmy!” David thanks everyone again and tells them that all of the Idols are grateful. Then he says, “…We all come from different places and we all have different stories. We all get misquoted and perverted in the media now, which is a little strange, but, one thing that I’ve learned throughout all of this is that we can’t do everything, we can’t be everything, but we can do something and we can be something.”
1st Mavid is “The Robot”.

July 5 – Las Vegas, NV, Thomas & Mack Center
Banter before TOML: David says, “…I’m gonna try to sing extra hard tonight, and not for reasons that you might think. I’m actually just tryin’ to earn a paycheck, ‘cause Las Vegas took way too much of my money last night. So, I’m gonna sing this next song in hopes that maybe a certain casino who will remain nameless will give me my money back.”
Banter after TOML: David says, “I’ve gotta be honest… I started playing in bands about ten years ago; I never thought I was gonna be playin’ in Vegas … and it’s all your fault.”
Banter before “My Hero”: David says (apparently in response to signs in the audience?): “I’m too busy to be married. Sorry.”
Mavid is “The Robot” again.

July 7 – Los Angeles, Staples Center
Banter before filming audience: David says, “I don’t know how long you guys have been waiting for tonight, but I’ve put in a good 25 years for this. You guys are fantastic! Why weren’t you guys this loud when I sang the National Anthem here, is what I want to know.”
Banter before “My Hero”: “Give it up for Timmy! [cheering] You guys can do better than that, give it up for Timmy!” [Louder cheering] David thanks everyone for coming out and says “ …this is ridiculous, there’s so many of you! I didn’t realize this many people watched the show.” And,
“ …I think we all took something away from this season, and I think so far we’ve all taken something away from this tour. First and foremost we’ve all realized that we never want to sing in front of Randy, Paula and Simon again. And secondly, I think we’ve all kind of found a bit of ourselves in each other, which has been really cool. So, thank you for allowing to have nine of the coolest friends backstage, it’s kind of a trip.”
Mavid is MJ spin, DC robot.

July 8 – San Jose, HP Pavilion at San Jose
Afternoon: David and Security Dave play soccer in the parking lot.
Concert: David had a small stuffed San Jose Sharks shark clipped to his guitar.
Meet N Greet after the concert: MJ gave David a piggyback ride back to the buses.
July 9 – Sacramento, ARCO Arena
Mavid = misc. dancing + a little DC robot.

July 11 – Portland, OR, Rose Garden
During the day: Michael Johns and David Cook got a VIP tour of Nike Town, were outfitted with new Nike golf gear and went to Pumpkin Ridge to golf. The girls go shopping in downtown Portland. Jason Castro gets lost in Powell’s City of Books.
Concert: DC says he liked Oregon because of “no sales tax”. While singing “Billie Jean”, during a guitar interlude, DC pours water from a water bottle over his head and shakes it out.
After the show by the buses: Fans give David a super-soaker which he plays with out by the buses after the concert.

July 12 – Tacoma, WA, Tacoma Dome
During the afternoon by the buses: DC and MJ toss a football back and forth; MJ falls over some luggage while going for the ball and injures his elbow.
Concert: While singing “Billie Jean”, Bendy Cookie! > DC does a back bend while playing the guitar – first of the tour!

July 14/15 – West Valley City, UT, The "E" Center
Concert: Bendy Cookie! > DC backbend again. DC injures his knee jumping off a railing.

July 18 – St. Louis, MO, Scottrade Center
Afternoon Meet N Greet – David runs down and hugs Jason, then runs back up to the other end to sign autographs. (Did this have something to do with the video clip of the backstage interview where Jason tells fans to tell David to “be nice”?)
Mavid: MJ flails, DC does robot.

July 19 – Rosemont, IL, Allstate Arena
No Mavid.

July 20 – Columbus, OH, Schottenstein Center
Carly Smithson dislocated her hip.
Concert: MJ brings David his guitar and pick before “My Hero” and “bows” down to him. David did the "OH" cheer where the audience responds "IO" (from OSU football crowds).
Mavid: “Cookie Shuffle”.

July 22 – Indianapolis, IN, Conseco Fieldhouse
During the day: David Cook got up early and had breakfast with his dad.
Meet N Greet: Fans make a “Word Nerd Concert Pact sign, have other Cook fans sign it, then they give it to David. (Theses fans also attend the next two concerts and David tells them that he has the sign in his bunk.)
Concert: David had a lot of family in the audience here. His lace-up the side black pants started to come untied while he was onstage and he stopped to fix them, telling the audience to “talk amonst yourselves for about 20 seconds”, then afterward said “Who boos safety?”
Mavid: “Cookie Shuffle”.

July 23 – Cincinnati, OH, US Bank Arena
Meet N Greet: Fans offer ice cream to Jason and DC. Jason’s security won’t let him have it; David just goes for it!
Concert: When David came out for his performance, he sang a song he learned in elementary school on how to spell Cincinnati. "Billie Jean' without the guitar - in for repairs.
Mavid: Snake Charmer (MJ is snake).

July 24 – Detroit, MI, Joe Louis Arena
Meet N Greet: Someone gives DC a pirate puppet that he names ‘Darren’.
Mavid: MJ spaz out, DC running man.

July 26 – Toronto, ON, Air Canada Centre
Meet N Greet indoors due to rain.
Banter before TOML: Someone threw a button onstage. David picks it up and says, What am I gonna do with a button of myself? Thanks.
Mavid: MJ spazzes out and DC does the Running Man.

July 27 – Rochester, NY, BlueCross Arena
Mavid: Leg Guitar.

July 29 – Pittsburgh, PA, Mellon Arena
Afternoon Meet ‘N Greet: Dyann of d-c.org had a sign telling David that she won the guitar in the auction to benefit ACS. He said, "Oh, yeah, the Rolling Rock guitar!" She also gave him a Pittsburgh Steelers “Terrible Towel”, which he began waving around in the parking lot to the delight of the crowd.
Concert: During David’s set someone throws a pair of “pink panties” on the stage.
PDSTM: MJ throws Kristy Lee over his shoulder and carries her to the side of the stage.
Mavid: David uses the Terrible Towel in the Mavid dance – swinging it around his head and gyrating while MJ does some kind of “scissor” dance.

July 30/31 – Newark, NJ, Prudential Center
Concert: The audience sings the entire Time of My Life with David, makes him cry…
Mavid 1: Sunglasses a la Blues Brothers. MAVID 2: “The Cabbage Patch”.

August 1 – American Idols preside over NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell Ceremony.

August 2 – Atlantic City, NJ, Boardwalk Hall
Mavid: channeling John Travolta in Grease.

August 4 –DA and DC are presenters at Teen Choice Awards (filmed earlier). Both win awards (surf boards)

August 4/5 – Long Island, NY, Nassau Coliseum
(1) Mavid = Shrug. (2) Mavid = Titanic.

August 6 – Albany, NY, Times Union Center
Mavid: Home Run (MJ pitches, DC hits a homer)


August 7 – David gets a new tattoo. David and Carly attend a NY Mets baseball game.
1) David & Carly stop by Daredevil Tattoo on the Lower East Side for
David to get a new tattoo: an eye with a tear, on his right inner wrist.

2) David was invited to the Mets practice and game by David Wright, a Mets baseball player. David Wright was the mystery donor who paid the remainder of the cost to have DC’s brother, Adam, attend the AI finale. David got to participate in the pre-game practice, and threw out the first pitch. David and Carly led the crowd in singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”.

August 8 – Hartford, CT, XL Center
Concert: Crowd does “Da-vid Cook” chant.
Mavid: Ballet Pirouets

August 9 – Worcester, MA, DCU Center
Concert: A fan (sing_to_me_david_cook of d-c.org) threw a gift on stage and David picked it up during Time Of My Life. It was a book and teddy bear wrapped in white and yellow lace panties.
No Mavid, TPTB (the powers that be) made them stop, protests galore from the fans.

August 10 – Manchester, NH, Verizon Wireless Center
Concert: "My Hero" - no guitar - started out with it, and a string broke...Timmy (the guitar tech) brought the red one...but David waved it off.
No Mavid.

August 11 – Regie Hamm posts the “Full Circle” blog on his MySpace

August 12 – Baltimore, MD, 1st Mariner Arena
Mavid back on! MJ says they’re “bringing the heat”. Mavid = “Rocky” (boxing).

August 13 – Philadelphia, PA, Wachovia Center
During the day: DC and MJ go golfing again.
Mavid: Lasso.
PDSTM: DC crosses his arms in front of him, “I Dream of Jeannie” style, as he is lowered on the platform at the end of the concert.

August 14 – Washington, DC, Verizon Center
During the day: David speaks to Congressional Committee concerning cancer advocacy
Afternoon Meet N Greet: Mavid antics – David poses for pictures leaning his head on MJ’s shoulder. MJ says “He just gets me, okay?” (LOL). David gives shout out to David Dash Cook Dot Org.
Concert: Sharp Dressed Man! - David does the show wearing the suit and tie he wore to the Congressional Committee meeting.
Mavid: Bull (DC) and Matador (MJ).

August 16 – Lexington, KY, Rupp Arena
Afternoon Meet N Greet: David “skateboards” with a boy (with a little help from Security Dave), then signs his skateboard. Krista of d-c.org and her friend, Ashely, give David an initialed pocket watch.
Concert: During IDWTMAT David takes a cell phone from an audience member and sings into it.
Banter1: David says that he has family in the audience and lists them: his Aunt Louise, his Dad, Vic (?) and his cousin Mike.
Banter before My Hero: Timmy brings out his guitar and David says “This is actually very special for me, this is the guitar my dad got me for my 21st birthday. I don’t think either of us ever thought this is where it got played, but I digress.” It is the white Les Paul left-handed guitar with the initials AC on it.
Before IDWTMAT: David reads a sign someone is holding up, and asks “What? There are gnomes that need freed? Okay, you guys, free the gnomes.”
Mavid is “pattycake”. David gets “Free the Gnomes” sign from the audience during PDSTM and shows it to everyone at the top at the end of the catwalk and at the top of the stairs.
After Party: DC, DA and a few fans are Michael Phelps on the Olympics. DC gets down on his hands and knees and tells Archie to get on his back to turn up the volume. After some coaxing, Archie finally does it.


August 17 – Charlotte, NC, Time Warner Cable Arena
Meet N Greet: When David and Carly came out, they raced each other to see who could start first.
Anita (ahillia of d-c.org & Anita_ahillia2 of davidcookofficial) gave David knee pads as “personal protection while performing Billie Jean (the backbend!)".
Concert: During TOML, David holds the microphone out to hear the audience singing; after the song he tells them that they were the loudest yet. David feels sick after singing My Hero, but finishes the show and goes to bed on the bus immediately after the show.
Mavid = “Dancing in the Rain” with umbrellas that fans made for them.
D2: When DC and DA came out on the catwalk during ‘Please Don’t Stop the Music’, DC did his usual getting down on one knee and indicated DA with his hand, and DA did his usual jumping up and down and pointing at DC, then “kicked” DC in the butt! DC got up laughing, and returned the favor at the top of the stairs!

August 18 – Duluth, GA, Arena at Gwinnett Center
Afternoon is spent filming interview with Larry King for show on Friday, Aug. 21.
Inside the arena before the show with fans waiting outside, David spots Anita and Sarah outside and then slapped both knees acknowledging the kneepads she had given him for the Billie Jean backbend.
Banter: David talks about getting to address the Congressional committee in Washington D.C.
concerning cancer advocacy and encourages audience to contribute to the cause.
Banter2: David says, "Did you ever throw something in the wash and it just never fits the same again? (LONG PAUSE for applause) It's the pants, man."
Banter3: "When I was filming, I saw a sign over there that said “marry me”. (Turns to right to where he thought he saw sign) You don't even know me."
Mavid = the Dirty Bird, touchdown dance of the ATL falcons.
PDSTM: DC grabs a water bottle before running up the stairs, takes a sip, and as he is being lowered on the platform sprays up a fountain of water from his mouth.


August 19 – day of rest for Idols in Florida.
Tropical Storm Fay threatens offshore. David spends the day resting, going to a movie and dinner with MJ and Chikezie, and sitting on the beach reflecting on the past year of his life. (see MySpace blog below in August 20)

August 20 – Sunrise, FL, BankAtlantic Center
Concert: David dedicates My Hero to his brother and anyone affected by Tropical Storm Fay. IDWTMAT - David states after that that was the best he'd ever done that song. A group of people in the back held up signs that spelled D-A-V-I-D in red and black, each person holding up one cut-out letter; he pointed them out and said "I like that”.
Mavid = Give Back signs to support Luke Menard. During PDSTM when they go out on the catwalk, DA pulls DC up by the collar and DC pops up laughing. David posts a blog on his MySpace: “PROMISES, SCHMROMISES...”, to share some of his thoughts with his fans. (And makes us all cry!)

August 21 – Tampa, FL, St Pete Times Forum
David meets Lindsey Rose Belcher for the first time and spends the day with her. She accompanies him outside to sign autographs and they spend the day together.
Concert: David dedicates My Hero to Lindsey Rose and Adam.
Mavid = Karate.

August 24 – Houston, TX, Toyota Center
Afternoon Meet N Greet: WordNerds have a huge sign welcoming David back to the place of his birth.
Mavid = Dancing on knees.
D2 = Archie tried to pull DC up by his collar again, but DC doesn’t budge – finally he gets up laughing.

August 25 – Dallas, TX, American Airlines Center
Afternoon Meet N Greet; Someone gives David a black cowboy hat.
Concert: During IDWTMAT a man near the railing is “mimicking” DC singing. After the song, David has the spotlight put on the man and asks him “do I do that when I sing?”, the man says, “yes”, David says "Well, the first step is admitting that I have a problem".
David wears the cowboy hat for PDSTM, tips his hat to all of the lady Idols as he walks past them. Mavid is “Rave” dance, MJ and DC dancing, then David throwing some things to the audience (Glowsticks?). PDSTM – after Mavid, David puts the cowboy hat on Brooke. Archie and David on catwalk – after David stands up, all the Idols give a bow pounding their arms out to the sides – a Jason Yaeger move from AI. That was a shout out to Jason Yaeger who was in the audience. Going back up the steps – Carly is wearing the hat now and passes it back to David, David puts it on KLC’s head. As David is descending on the elevator, he puts his hands out and holds himself up for awhile, then drops down.
Regie Hamm posts the “Mosaic” blog on his MySpace, “a priest, a farmer and an acrobat walk into a bar…”

August 26 – Bossier City, LA, CenturyTel Center
PDSTM – all the Idols are wearing Mardi Gras beads.
Mavid = Locomotion – Chuga-chuga-choo-choo.
D2 (PDSTM) – DC hands DA a bouquet of flowers and then does the bow to DA; DA doesn’t know what to do with the flowers, then smacks DC with them; DC gets up laughing, stops and looks at DA and swipes the flowers back!

August 28 – Oklahoma City, OK, Ford Center
Afternoon Meet N Greet: Fans give David a paddle– he chased Security Dave around with it and spanked him with it. Kathy of Cougars Love Cook dot com gives David hula hoops.
Concert: David played half of “My Hero” with the guitar, then got off the stage and went to the barrier singing to the crowd.
Mavid = Hula Hoop. D2 (PDSTM) – DC gives DA an extra long bear hug – DA doesn’t know how to react. MJ gives DC a hug at the top of the stairs. David says Oklahoma City was loudest yet.

August 29 – Kansas City, MO, Sprint Center - Homecoming Day 1!
David was in downtown Blue Springs Friday afternoon to unveil a mural painted in his honor by students of Blue Springs South High School, his alma mater. David receives an engraved granite plaque from the Cook Chatter Girls.
Afternoon Meet N Greet: There was a David Cook look alike roaming the streets in front of the Sprint Center and he succeeded in temporarily fooling some fans (from a distance).
Concert: Andrew Cook got mobbed by fans at intermission. David came out wearing a KC Chiefs jersey over his t-shirt. After “Hello” the stage went dark, then the spotlight comes back on as DC is getting ready to take off the jersey, so he just goes for it (and gives all the fangirls a little thrill – what a tease!). Before IDWTMAT David apologizes for Michael Johns who thought they were in Kansas. He also apologizes to his mom – apparently because he has to keep pulling his pants up because someone stole his belt in OKC. After IDWTMAT several belts were thrown up onstage for him – one small one was mistaken for a dog collar; David thanked the person who gave him the belt he used. DC had asked before hand for extra guitar picks to be put on his mic stand so he could throw them, so they covered the whole thing from top to bottom and even the microphone itself with picks. When Timmy brought out DC’s guitar for “My Hero” he was wearing a Martian antenna headband, which cracked DC up. Timmy handed him a pick, and David said, “Now why on earth would you give me pick?”
No Mavid.
The newspaper said that the arena noise when David came out had not been louder since Garth [Brooks] was there.

August 30 – Kansas City, MO, Sprint Center - Homecoming Day 2!
“Charity Chicks” from david-cook.org hold a charity event in the afternoon to benefit the American Cancer Society: Raffle for tickets, backstage passes, and items signed by DC (incl. a Les Paul guitar); games and also a mini concert featuring Nick Gibson. The total d-c.org goal of $26,000 for the ACS is reached.
Concert: David came out wearing a blue Kansas City Royals jersey – one that buttoned up the front. After “Hello” he did a little “strip tease” taking it off (t-shirt underneath).
At one point during his set, someone (Tonya, who is marlowe on d-c.org and davidcookofficial) threw on stage what looked to be a green flying disc (it was actually a card that said - David can you wish my mom “happy birthday”?) and it flew over the stage and down behind it where people were standing and David said what sounded like "Michael Johns are you ok?" and everyone started screaming because they thought it was MJ and David goes "What? Bring him out? Calm down, calm down, it's Michael Jones, not Michael Johns". Michael Jones is one of the sound techs for the show. David says he has to take care of his own. Before IDWTMAT David imitates Chikezie, saying “this ones for the ladies”. Before “My Hero” Timmy brings out DC’s guitar wearing a balloon “hat” or “crown” – looks like Viking horns. Timmy comes out and sits on DC’s lap – DC cracks up. Timmy puts the balloon crown on DC. David says all the Idols said this was the best, most welcoming crowd.
Banter: Before he recorded the audience, David said "God, it's good to be HOME!" and ran in place for a couple of steps. The crowd went crazy and he said he wasn't going to tell what he was doing, they should just keep that noise...and then he started recording. There were some parents near one end of the stage who crowd surfed their little boy down to the front to touch David. David jumped down between the stage and barricade after My Hero and high-fived the audience members at the barricade as he went backstage.
Mavid = Cheerleader/Pom Poms – David missed one when they were thrown up to him; Michael was really into his “routine”; David threw a pom pom at Michael.

August 31 – Minneapolis, MN, Target Center
Meet N Greet: David lifts a little boy over the barrier and has him sign autographs with him. Fans give David decorated boat oars for Mavid. David chases Security Dave and paddles him with the oar.
Banter: DC saw a sign that said "David Archuleta it hotter than an enchilada", then DC said "thanks for giving him a new nickname... now we're all gonna call him 'Enchilada' and he'll just giggle". Before My Hero David said "Who yelled that I’m hot? Thank you, I guess. While I was sitting there singing that song, I looked down and to my left, and there is this guy that I used to play baseball with in high school named Ryan Hayes, I’m gonna call him out, but he’s sittin’ right over there [points]. After the concert MJ, Carly and DC go to O’Donovan’s, an Irish pub near the venue. MJ sings karaoke on AC/DC’s “Shook Me All Night Long” with DC doing back-up vocals, and playing air guitar and air drums.
D2: DC starts clapping for DA and keeps it up until DA starts clapping, too.

Sept 2 – Green Bay, WI, Resch Center
DC banter while filming audience: talks about Oneida Casino, says he “won a little bit of money at blackjack last night”.
Mavid = Cheeseheads: Laverne and Shirley dance, i.e. Michael and David locking arms and skipping; written on top of MJ’s Cheesehead: “No Shame”, on top of DC’s “What He Said”.
PDSTM – MJ and DC wearing “Cheeseheads” the whole time.
D2 – David puts the Cheesehead on Archie; Archie puts Cheesehead on Ramielle; MJ tries to put Cheesehead on Jason but it won’t stay because of his dreads.

Concert: Billie Jean – Bendy Cookie! (backbend). After Billie Jean, David jumps off the stage and goes to the barrier.
Banter before TOML: DC “Everybody give it up for everybody but Aaron”. (In the band?) Then DC talks about going to Chicago the day before and singing TOML on Oprah.
Banter after filming the crowd: David points out into the audience and says, “That’s the best sign I think I’ve seen all summer: ‘David Cook will you be my son-in-law?’, [laughs] I’d like you to meet my daughter!”
Banter before My Hero: David’s belt fell off, and he said “just a second, I had a wardrobe malfunction”, as he steps out of the light to put it back on. After putting the belt back on he says, “As far as embarrassing things go, that’s up there. So, really, okay, Aaron. Happy birthday, whoever’s birthday it is. Then he gives a shout out for SU2C.
Mavid = wheelbarrow.

Sept 4 – Cleveland, OH, Wolstein Center
Meet N Greet: An MJ fan gives Phantom Masks for Mavid.
Concert: There were girls in the front row with a sign that said "BLOW US A KISS BABY PLEASE" and he blew them a kiss after singing "Time of my Life". They went crazy!
Banter before filming the audience: “I was gonna come out here and sing the Drew Carey theme song.
After Billie Jean DC jumps off the end of the catwalk and goes to the audience, then touches hands with the audience as he goes around to backstage.
Mavid = Phantom of the Opera; DC and MJ with masks and roses.
D2: DC with the Phantom mask on, down on one knee, shaking his hands beside his face (in mock fear?). DC goes up the stairs backward.

Sept 5 – “Stand Up To Cancer” event.

Sept 6 – Bridgeport, CT, Arena at Harbor Yard
Tropical Storm Hanna moving in – some people attending the concert had to drive in heavy rain and encountered flooded roads.
Afternoon Meet N Greet: David came out with Ramielle and led everyone in singing “Happy Birthday” to her. Charlie the Unicorn wais present – wearing a raincoat. A group from david-cook.org (including JerseyGirl2/Rachel, DCJerseyGirl/Lisa, Annette, Dcfffffffan/Diane, maywee1956/Mary and others) were wearing red Kansas City Chiefs hats, had lots of gifts for him and were holding signs that said “Jersey Girls Love Their Rockers (1st came Bruce, then came Jon BonJovi, now make room for Cookie)” and “Come Meet Annette, Team Captain of the NJ/NY/LI ACS Team for CookFansConqueringCancer.” David read the signs and came over. Annette gave him a letter about the team raising $2130 in his honor for ACS. The group gave him a KC Chiefs hat that d-c.org members had signed. Mary gave him a Henry the Gnome doll that played TOML. Rachel had a copy of the Word-Nerd pact cover page that he signed and he remembered receiving the Word-Nerd Book in Newark. The group gave David cufflinks that looked like his Les Paul guitar. Rachel gave him a card that tied Bruce, Jon and Cookie together, “inducting” him as an honorary New Jersey rocker. She got a high five for the card. The group made sure that some young girls in wheel chairs at the barricade got to the front of the line to meet David and Brooke.
Concert: Timmy comes out to give David his guitar before “My Hero” wearing a rainbow curly hair wig and gives David a brown curly hair wig (a fan gave the wigs to him at afternoon Meet N Greet). David put on the wig and said he felt like Beyonce in the Austin Powers movie, then said “I’m foxy Cleopatra”. David gives shout out for the Stand Up To Cancer show and thanks for the support shown for that. Someone threw a fingerless glove onto the stage; David picked it up and put it on and wore it on his left hand throughout his set.
PDSTM – David picks a rose up off the stage and hands it to Carly.
Mavid = Push-Ups; David keeps going after MJ stops.

Sept 7 – Providence, RI, Dunkin Donuts Center
Billie Jean – Bendy Cookie! DC jumps off the stage behind the barriers.
Mavid = A Toast.
D2 = DC handing DA a stuffed bunny someone threw to him onstage during his set.

Sept 8 – David appears as musical guest on Oprah. Special Olympics season opener; David sings TOML with acoustic guitar to welcome home Team USA from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics!

Sept 8 – Wilkes Barre, PA, Wachovia Arena
Afternoon Meet N Greet: David comes out with big red “sneaker” slippers on his feet.
Banter before My Hero: David holds up a sign he took from the audience that has a picture of a French’s mustard bottle on it asking ‘David C., why do you hate me?’. David says, “I have my reasons.”

Sept 10 – Fort Wayne, IN, Allen County Memorial Coliseum
DC spent the whole day (Lindsey Rose style) with a little girl who raised $1300 on her own for ACS. (Info courtesy of Stacey)
Concert: DC has family in the audience, including his Dad, StepMom and Grandmother. David dedicates his entire set to Gina Glocksen, who he says is present and was backstage for awhile. (And dedicates “My Hero” to his brother Adam, of course.)
Mavid = Zoolander Part II: David ‘walks’, Michael watches.
D2 = DC bows and points to DA, DA jumps up and down and points at DC, DC turns toward DA and 1) puts hands together like praying/begging then 2) puts fist up, then 3) gives DA high five. (???). DC takes stairs several at a time.

Sept 11 – Evansville, IN, Roberts Stadium
Afternoon Meet ‘N Greet: DC leads fans in singing happy birthday to Chikezie (9/11) and Carly (9/12). Carly has a Burger King crown on her head. A fan gives MJ and DC Superman capes, which they both wear. A fan gives David a KC Chiefs Gnome – DC says it will be his first lawn ornament. A fan makes a sign that says Security Dave is hot!
Concert: During Brooke's set there was a moment of silence while a band member performed 'Taps', commemorating 9/11. David’s niece, nephew and grandparents are in the audience. David says he got to see Adam during the day off (Sept 9). “My Hero” is dedicated to Adam and to those affected by 9/11. Billie Jean > Bendy Cookie.
Mavid = Zoolander Part 3: MJ and DC walked towards each other all the way from the sides of the stage towards the center doing the Zoolander model walk.
D2: DC does DA’s signature move of jumping up and down and pointing at him; at the top of the stairs DA jumps and points at DC.

Sept 13 – Tulsa, OK, BOK Center – Last Show
Meet N Greet: Someone gave David a “halo” headband, which he wore over his baseball cap. David and Carly were going to get tattoos before the show (as per cell phone conversation during signing).
Concert: During Brooke’s cover of “1 2 3 4”, MJ comes out wearing cut-offs and yellow tanktop and dances behind her (she was standing and playing the guitar). MJ has a mustache and channels Freddie Mercury during his set. During MJ’s set (It’s All Wrong, But It’s Alright), David hands MJ a rose from the floor in front of the stage and sprays him with silly string when he reaches down to get it. MJ finishes his set covered in silly string.
DC banter after filming the audience: Someone had thrown a pair of hot pink panties onstage. When David saw them he said, “My mom is in the front row. There’s two trains of thought: One, someone threw these from the audience in front of my mom, number two my mom threw these onstage (laughs). That’s where that was applicable there, thank you. I don’t know who they’re from, but I’m just gonna go ahead and do that [shoves them off the stage with his toe]. We’ll give them to Archie later.”
DC banter before My Hero: "It has been one of the most frustrating, unnerving and amazing years of my life, and to have it end here is pretty poetic.” He tears up and then tells his mom, Andrew, his friends up in the suite and everybody there that he loves them. David came out in the audience and walked through the crowd all the way to the back of the arena during My Hero. David smashed his guitar (a cheap one – not his usual guitar) at the end of Billie Jean.
Mavid = Zoolander Part 4 – Techies by the stage, and family and friends in the front row spray MJ, DC and the other idols with silly string, while MJ and DC do the ‘underwear pulled from their pants’ scene from Zoolander. They each pull out a pair of tighty-whities and wave them over their heads. As DC walks back to the center of the stage he picks up the bright pink panties someone threw on the stage and hands them to DA who jumps and drops them like he was burned (LOL!). All the Idols are covered with silly string at this point and slipping and sliding on the stage. Later, on his way back up the steps, DC picks up the pink panties again and tosses them at the drummer. After the group finale song, all the idols remain on the stage and hug each other and come back out on the catwalk (all in the dark, with only the light from flashing cameras).

Sept 14 – David and Andrew sing the National Anthem at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders football game. David sits in the box with the announcers for awhile when the game starts.

Sept. 19: Ford Motor Company Day Luncheon in Dearborn, MI: DC performing mini-concert with DA
Ford Day on 9/19 David did a killer acoustic version of “Hello”, just blew everyone away!
Banter: David made fun of himself in the horrid green lycra matadore outfit they made him wear in the Ring of Fire Ford Video. He compared himself to Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog. Best line of the day, “There’s no moral to this story. Just don’t make me do that any more!”
David promoted davidcookofficial.com at Meet N Greet after the show. Stacey (Stacey81 of d-c.org, HOTWN, davidcookofficial and others) is filming him while he signs. When she mentions David Dash Cook Dot Org, he responds by saying, “Now it’s all DavidCookOfficial.com”, “No more fan cliques” and “We’re about love”.
David tells a group of fans the name of the new single will be "Light On". They were the first to know!
Kristen (kristen987 of d-c.org) gave him a DVD of the Mavid Dance Compilation that she made, and asked if he knew that today was International Talk Like a Pirate Day. She handed him a print out of the logo with today's date and some bad pirate jokes written on it. He said "no", put his head down, covered his mouth with his hand, shook his head, and just laughed. He said, "Thank you Idol Extra for that one". He read this one out loud...

July 1 – Glendale, AZ: David Cook announces that his brother, Adam Cook’s, brain tumor has stopped growing.

July 2 – San Diego, CA

July 3 – Fresno, CA. 1st Mavid “Robot”.

July 5 – Las Vegas, NV. Mavid “The Robot”

July 7 – Los Angeles. Mavid: MJ spin; DC robot.

July 11 – Portland, OR: During the day, Michael Johns and David Cook go golfing. The girls go shopping in downtown Portland. Jason Castro gets lost in Powell’s City of Books. While singing “Billie Jean”, during a guitar interlude, DC pours water from a water bottle over his head and shakes it out. (Not allowed to do it anymore after that.)

July 12 – Tacoma, WA: While singing “Billie Jean”, DC does a back bend while playing the guitar.

July 14/15 – West Valley City, UT: DC back bend again. DC injures his knee jumping off a railing.

July 18 – St. Louis, MO. Mavid: MJ flails, DC does robot.

July 19 – Rosemont, IL: David Cook chased by crazed fangirls in his hotel; he tells them they have to stop.

July 20 – Columbus, OH: Mavid: “Cookie Shuffle”. Carly Smithson dislocated her hip. At meet and greet, girls hand DC a handmade poster to sign with his family’s home phone number on it. Other Idols have signed the back; he tells them he will have to keep it, but borrows a piece of paper to sign for them; tells security it’s okay and they’ve done nothing wrong; he “just got creeped out”.

July 22 – Indianapolis, IN: Mavid: “Cookie Shuffle”. David Cook got up early and had breakfast with his dad.

July 23 – Cincinnati, OH – Fans offer ice cream to Jason and DC. Jason’s security won’t let him have it; David just goes for it! Mavid: Snake Charmer (MJ is snake).

July 24 – Detroit, MI.

July 26 – Toronto, ON. Mavid: MJ spazzes out and DC does the Running Man.

July 27 – Rochester, NY. Mavid: Crotch Guitar.

July 29 – Pittsburgh, PA. During the afternoon Meet ‘N Greet some fans give DC a “terrible towel” (something to do with the Pittsburgh Steelers). David uses the towel in the Mavid dance – swinging it around his head and gyrating while MJ some kind of “scissor” dance.

July 30/31 – Newark, NJ audience sings Time of My Life with David, makes him cry…

August 2 – Atlantic City, NJ. Mavid: channeling John Travolta in Grease.

August 4 – DA and DC are presenters at Teen Choice Awards (filmed earlier). Both win awards (surf boards)

August 4/5 – Long Island, NY. Mavid = Titanic.

August 6 – Albany, NY. Mavid = Home Run. David and Carly had been at the Mets game earlier that day. David was invited to the Mets practice and game by David Wright, a Mets baseball player. David Wright was the mystery donor who paid the reminder of the cost to have DC’s brother Adam attend the AI finale. David got to participate in the pre-game practice, and threw out the first pitch. David and Carly led the crowd in singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. David was asked to sing the National Anthem, but declined, as he didn’t want to bump the children’s choir that was scheduled to sing it. David and Carly also visited a tattoo parlor in NYC where David acquired a new tattoo – an eye with a tear, on his right inner wrist.

August 8 – Hartford, CT. Mavid = ballet.

August 9 – Worcester, MA. no Mavid, TPTB (the powers that be) made them stop, protests galore

August 10 – Manchester, NH –

August 12 – Baltimore, MD – Mavid back on! MJ says they’re “bringing the heat”. Mavid “Fight Scene”

August 13 – Philadelphia, PA – DC and MJ go golfing again.

August 17 – Charlotte, NC
Mavid “Dancing in the Rain” with umbrellas that fans made for them. Those same fans make a sign that reads: “David C., are you a tripod?”. The security guys brought the sign backstage to him. He signed it and wrote “…wow…” and they gave it back to the girls. During the concert he looked at the girls holding the sign and shook his head “no”, but Michael Johns nodded his head “yes”.
When David Cook and David Archuleta came out on the catwalk during ‘Please Don’t Stop the Music’, when DC did his usual getting down on one knee and indicated DA with his hand, DA did his usual jumping up and down and pointing at DC, then “kicked” DC in the butt! DC got up laughing, and returned the favor at the top of the stairs!

August 18 – Duluth, GA. Afternoon is spent filming interview with Larry King for show on Friday, Aug. 21. Mavid Jazzercise.

August 20 – Sunrise, FL. Mavid = signs to support Luke Menard.

August 21 – Tampa, FL. Mavid = Karate. David meets Lindsey Rose Belcher for the first time and spends the day with her. She accompanies him outside to sign autographs. A group of fans make a quilt made up of squares decorated by kids at the children’s hospital that Lindsey goes to and they give the quilt to David. David dedicates My Hero to Lindsey Rose and Adam.

Nope...he was there in Lexington. My 9 year old daughter is still talking about it.

We should also add that MJ brought out DC's guitar in Columbus...YAY!
