Wasn't David supposed to do a radio interview with 93.3 in Kansas City when he was home last weekend? I thought a fan was supposed to conduct the interview. I've been looking for it and can't find it. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hey C-Crush, I heard maybe a total of 90 seconds of said interview after I woke up Tuesday morning. All they played was some pleasantries, then the little girl (whose mom won the contest) asking DC what his favorite color is (blue) and what his favorite food is (chicken and cheese taquitos from Quik Trip - which prompted some joking about an endorsement deal). That's all I heard.

The DJs did say they met with stiff resistance from the tour poobahs about getting DC by himself for the interview. They said the poobahs don't want anyone singled out for special treatment. But the Mix 93 folks had them ask DC if he was ok with it and he said sure. While I was listening on Tuesday, they were going on and on about how DC's starting to realize he has some power and can exercise it because HE'S DAVID-EFFING-COOK!

They said they had over an hour of audio from the meeting. I've emailed the program director about putting that audio on their website. I notice they don't post podcasts but they do have a YouTube vid posted of their interview with DC from June that's just pictures over the audio. I asked them to at least do something like that. I haven't gotten any response yet.

Of course, I wasn't anywhere near a radio all weekend except for brief moments in the car so maybe they played the interview at some point and we just missed it. I hope not.

He also did a radio interview there, too. And now Cook is taking Archie with him to the cancer benefit even though he was advertised as the sole headliner for weeks. I know it's charity and we're not supposed to complain about it but it seems like they won't let Cook do anything by himself anymore.

To kill the conspiracy theorist in me, I am going to try logic here: many of the tour stops feature multiple interviews with the contestants, and even in SLC the other contestants were interviewed and Cook got a solo interview with the local TV station. Maybe that is what they meant by "special treatment" since Cook got a lot of local TV coverage and written press while he was there. But if they pitched a fit with Cook and not with Archie then that is massively unfair.

But I guess we'll never know.

OTOH, Cook was on Oprah, which is a big deal. I don't know. I'm just sick of the joint appearances. There is nothing about Archie that appeals to me personally or musically and I have had just about all I can take of the kid. I'm looking forward to the day when I no longer have to tolerate him and can just ignore that fact that he exists completely.

Thanks so much for the reply and information. In terms of special treatment, don't the tour poorbahs know that David WON American Idol. If that doesn't qualify him for special treatment, I don't know what does.

Anyway, I hope they release the audio. Maybe they need more of us fans to bug them about it.

Stacey, lol. When we were driving to Lee's Summit to pick up the banner for Saturday's event, I saw a QT and I said, "We should stop and ask them for some chicken taquitos, because they're David's favorites." Someone in the car may have made fun of me for knowing that tidbit.

Think QTs are kind of spread out throughout the midwest? Think they have them in Tulsa, too . . .

Quik Trip is like 7-11. Gas, pop, snacks. They have those 'roller cookers' like hot dogs are cooked on with taquitos, egg rolls, etc. Think cheap, fast & unhealthy. Don't ask me how I know.

FYI, Quik Trip's chicken and cheese taquitos are the kind of "food" that heart attacks are made of.
