Hi! You're invited to join Ozark Word Nerd and I here on Friday, Oct 24 for an online party. This is especially therapuetic if you're still missing the AI tour online chats and cellcasts!

At our last party a couple of weeks ago, people "brought" party treats like favorite photo/vids/links. This time, any of that is welcome plus think of some good trivia questions about Season 7 for the group. We're hoping dizzyclover will simultaneously host us on WebTv like last time -- it was fun to watch videos and chat about them together and we kept things pretty lively here, too -- trivia here, live chat there -- it will be fun!

Anyway, whip out your best bean dip recipe, your favorite libations (word of the day) and we hope to see you here Friday! (by the way, wasn't that a great MTV interview about the new album? YEH! Just because it's an AI party doesn't mean we can't talk about WHATEVER . . .)

BUT, if anyone was thinking about inviting Simon . . . well, 'nough said. ohmy.gif

Hey guys - I think we're all feeling the same thing - so I think a good chat about DC and the good stuff is a must. I am listening to music that was downloaded by my daughter (I'm at work), from AI, and I realize that it was such a great happening, and I do miss all that interaction and cool stuff. I seriously do not think that AI can repeat last season, it was such a great move and talent.

I do miss David's appearance and his voice, even though all the music was not his, I love it anyhow. Got a little pang in my heart right now - so, I'll sure try to come here on Friday.

Listening to Always Be My Baby - that was such a great performance....ahhhhhhhhhhh.......... I know, you all think so too. Got Daviditis I guess.........boo hoo -

Sounds great. Hope to see you there. The party doesn't start until 9:00 eastern, so you would just be fashionably late!

I was just going to respond to your PM. Glad you found this "well hidden" thread. Join us whenever you can. We're working on getting the live chat thing set up again even though dizzyclover can't join us. Evidently, we have that feature right here on DC.org. Duh, I've been an active member since July, and I didn't know that.

So glad you found this obscure thread (the reason for its obscurity is a sad tale!). I sent a bunch of PMs out last night to folks who attended the Oct. 3 party to let them know about this one. Please do join us on Friday -- bring your favorite picture, video, AI trivia, etc. We hope to have a live chat set up, which was a blast last time.

Yes we do have the live chat - but last time I spoke with Travis we were going to introduce it for the CD Release Party - has he offered to plug in the chat earlier?

I just wanted to make a correction to my previous post. As Annette said, DC.org currently does NOT have the live chat option but will have by the time of the CD release party on Nov. 18. We still hope to have live chat for tomorrow night's party, but it will be through BlogTV or something similar and NOT DC.org.

OK, whichever chat is fine as long as you can give me an easy explanation of how to use it! I'm not that familiar with them yet although I have used them a few times. Thanks for the time reminder, I though it was at 8 eastern! See ya then for some fun.

Hey guys, I just tried the live chat with FortuneCookie and it works great! You don't need to know anything -- just go to the top of the D-C.org banner and click on the Open Live Chat -- in another Window or a Pop-up window, whichever you prefer. You give it a nickname and that's it -- just type in the space at the bottom of you r new window , press send and we all see it.

We'll maintain this partee strand too -- simultaneously -- because it will be better for trivia and for folks who come late or want to check out the action the next day. So, prepare to pop back and forth between both windows, just like in the good 'ol cellcast days.

Hi JerseyGirl2,

Sorry for the double PM. I just wanted to make sure that you got the first one because I tend to be technologically challenged (or techLD as my kids like to say!) and wasn't sure if I sent it to everyone I intended to.

Glad to hear you've got some trivia questions ready. I need to get on the ball and start pondering some questions. Sounds like something useful to do while I'm at work supposedly working! Hope to see you tonight.

Jerri

I tried it last night too, and it was easy to use. You can post pictures and links to videos but you can't actually play a video. Widz had volunteered to do a similar thing to dizzy's BlogTV at the Oct. 3 party, but unfortunately school obligations (an advisor who insisted on some last minute changes/additions to an important paper) came up and she won't be able to join us. Gosh, first it's dizzy's sister's wedding and now a paper....we DC fans really need to keep our priorities straight. laugh.gif

We'll miss them tonight, but they'll be here in spirit.

Jerri

The group numbers are hilarious. During the show, the group numbers would be when I would go the bathroom, get something to drink, talk to my husband, etc. and so I missed seeing some of them. Bring some of your "favorite" numbers to the party tonight. They will definitely be good for a few laughs. David always had this look on his face like WTF am I doing here! laugh.gif

ME TOO!!
When I started looking at some of them I realized that I hadn't seen some of them, or at least parts of them.
I'll try to bring one or two of the less painful ones tonight.

I don't know how to do any of this stuff.... Hopefully I can navigate my way into the Live Chat, LOL!!! Don't want to miss a minute of this partaaaaay. Fun stuff!!!! I feel like I have a lot of new and wonderful friends on D-C.org. Thanks to all for making everyone feel so welcome.

I also went on YouTube and watched as many of the group numbers as I could find last night because I was on a thread that wanted our favorites. I had not seen many of them....must have taken a break....

Edit: Okay, at the top of the website it says David Cook open chat in new window or pop up. Is that where I go? But I still keep this thread open also. Is that right??? I know, I know...really sad I am so computer illiterate, especially when I type on one all day long!!!

Exactly right -- then you'll have 2 places to go to party :-) -- you can just click back and forth between both places (if you're on a Windows machine, you'll see both at the very bottom of your screen). See you later!

Well due to circumstances beyond my control, I'm gonna be late too -- But start the party without me!

HEY, who invite YOU Guys????

Shoo -- getta outta here -- only die-hard Cookie fans are welcome. Okay, Paula, you can STAY!!

Hey, Paula, want a drink? Anyone else?

Here's the Paula Colada recipe. Have fun y'all! Back soon -- NEMO Cougar

Paula Coladas
Ah yes, what would an Idol extravaganza be without an alcoholic beverage named after our favorite allegedly substance-impaired judge? You can skip the alcohol if you want to, but you might have to rename that version. This is like a dessert in a glass, but you can skip the ice cream for a more authentic Pina Colada.

Makes one serving, but can be doubled, tripled, etc. to make more.

1 oz white rum
1/2 oz coconut rum
small handful fresh pineapple chunks
small scoop vanilla ice cream
Combine ingredients in a blender with 1 cup crushed ice; blend until frozen. Add more ice or pineapple juice until you reach your desired consistency. Serve with a pineapple chunk for a garnish.

Yum, that looks good!
I'll take two!
So, is it better to chat in a new window or a pop up, any opinions?
This will be my first time trying this.
