I hate the ocean too. Every time seaweed touched my foot or something, I'd freak out and get out of the water. Now I don't even go in. Neal was talking about his tattoos after a show one time and mentioned the giant squid. He said he got it tattooed to ward of giant squids and that he can never go on a boat because he's afraid of being attacked. That's probably contributes to his fear of the ocean.

I barely read those ^ there and agree with all of it. I like to look at the water from a distance but heck I think I'm going to get attacked by a shark out of the water lol. I have no idea how ppl can get on glass bottom boats
 . I'll never get in the water.So today as I was watching the little video of Neal playing with fire hehe it made me think. I know there are many phenomenal guitarists out there but I do think Neal is beyond amazing. I just don't understand how you can be that good. I am truly amazed by his skills. Every time I see one of the videos of him I pretty much have this look on my face ....  |

I just don't like the idea of sharing the water with the creatures of the sea. Clearly, they belong there and I just don't. Yes, Neal is very good. However, I know guitarists who are equally good if not better. Therefore, I'm not quite as blown away as some of the fans. He is the first to say he is adequate but doesn't feel he is the best out there. I really appreciate his songwriting skills. His music has a lot of wonderful layers and the lyrics show a lot of depth. Sure would like some of his work on this new CD. Jeannine |

 Let me rephrase what I said, I do believe he is beyond amazing but it's like I'm comparing him to Hendrix or anything. Definetly up at the top for me anyway. I can even say he's better than my favorite bands and probably even the best guitarist on my ipod. It's good that he thinks of himself as adequate though, I hate when ppl are arrogant. I too would love a more Neal influenced sound on the new album. It would be awesome if it had a heavier sound

Hope that those of you who live close by will check out Black Cloud Collective. Neal and Kyle are touring with them (as everyone probably knows by now). If my life wasn't so chaotic, I would have driven to Phoenix for tonight's show. Hoping they think about doing something here in So. Calif. I listened to some of the tunes on MySpace and think they are excellent.

If anyone gets some decent video of Black Cloud Collective, let me know. I would love to see it. Also would love to hear your thoughts about the music. From what I have heard, I think it is very good.
